Metal gazebos for summer cottages. Recommendations for installing a metal gazebo in the country

On a sunny hot day when the walls country house warm up thoroughly and do not give the desired coolness, many of us often have a desire to find a place to relax on fresh air. A good solution for arranging such a cozy corner on outdoors there will be a gazebo made of metal with your own hands. The elegant design will not cover the picturesque landscape or the view of the house and will become an organic addition to the architectural ensemble.

Beautifully designed metal gazebos for summer cottages, acting as an aesthetic addition landscape design able to emphasize the taste of the owner. The variety of shapes and sizes of metal garden arbors is amazing. The decoration of suburban areas are both traditional round, square, hexagonal and octagonal gazebos, as well as original designs of the most unusual design solutions.

Depending on the designer's ideas, gazebos can be decorated with a wide variety of decorative elements: artistic forging, hanging planters with ampelous flowers ...

The main advantage of gazebos for summer cottages made of metal is their strength and durability. Comfortable designs are able to properly serve more than one season. The only thing that is required to extend their service life is to periodically inspect and promptly clean areas that show signs of corrosion.

The rigidity of the frame of metal arbors helps prevent changes in geometric dimensions, which often occur as a result of uneven subsidence of the soil under the influence of seasonal changes.

Depending on the constructive solution And functional purpose gazebos, any attributes for recreation can be installed on the covered area, starting from garden furniture and ending with a barbecue or barbecue oven

Roofing options metal frame there are also many: slate, metal profiled sheet, polycarbonate ... The choice is limited only by the preferences and material capabilities of the owner.

Pavilions can be stationary capital structures, or portable temporary structures. In the first case, they are installed on a base: a slab or column foundation. Portable structures, which are easy to dismantle and remove with the onset of cold weather, are installed directly on the ground.

A do-it-yourself metal gazebo is at least a reason for the pride of its owner. Therefore, we propose to consider the main stages of the construction of a structure so necessary in the economy.

The hexagonal gazebo is a classic that has not lost its relevance for several decades. Such a cozy design has a number of undeniable advantages, the main ones being: elegance, spaciousness, strength and ease of construction.

Such an eight- or hexagonal design is analogous to the round gazebo model, but unlike the latter, it is much simpler in terms of construction.

There is nothing complicated in making a metal gazebo yourself. To do this, you only need to have a specialized tool and have minimal plumbing skills.

Step #1 - Prepare All Required Materials

To make a metal gazebo you will need:

  • Hollow pipes with a wall thickness of 2-4 mm for structural pillars (rectangular or square section);
  • Mounting brackets;
  • Bars for crates;
  • Roofing material (wave polycarbonate, soft tiles ...);
  • Clapboard for wall cladding;
  • Kolovorot or garden drill;
  • electrodes;
  • Drills for metal;
  • Building level;
  • Sand and cement;
  • Metal paint.

Among the tools we need: a grinder, a welding machine, a hammer drill or an electric drill, galvanized self-tapping screws and a screwdriver.

Step # 2 - site selection and ground preparation

The main condition for choosing a place for arranging a gazebo is for the owners and guests to feel cozy and comfortable here, admiring the most beautiful views in the allotment.

Any place for arranging a gazebo on the site can be chosen: under the canopy of trees in the garden, near a pond or not far from the entrance to the house

Thinking over the design of the gazebo, you need to decide for yourself whether it will be an open, ventilated or closed design, with or without lighting. To visualize the project and determine the dimensions of the future structure, it is desirable to make a drawing of the building. A drawing made to scale will allow you to correctly calculate the required number of pipes for installing the main frame, and additional screeds of a smaller section for arranging the roof and cross members.

Determining the dimensions of the doorway:

  • the height is calculated based on the average human height (1.8-2.0 meters);
  • opening width is approximately standard size doors to the apartment (0.9-1.0 meters).

The site chosen for the arrangement of the gazebo is cleared of debris and tree roots.

From the site cleared of debris and plant remains, we remove the fertile layer of soil, which we use for pouring into flower beds and leveling differences in the area

Having cleared the site and removed a 15-20 cm layer of earth, we fill the bottom of the formed "pit" with a 5-8 cm layer of sand, pour it with water and carefully tamp it down. On a sand base, you can simply lay out paving stones or paving slabs, or build a concrete platform. To do this, we form a formwork from the boards, fixing it with pegs driven into the ground along the outside. We fill the site with concrete and leave it to dry completely for several days.

When arranging a site with an area of more than two square meters, it is necessary to provide temperature shrinkage seams. To do this, we install the formwork boards, maintaining an interval of 1 meter, and fill the space cement mortar. After the concrete has hardened, we remove the boards, and fill the cracks and voids with a liquid solution.

Step #3 - Installing the support legs

After completing the work on arranging the floor, we set marks along the perimeter of the site where we will place the supporting pillars. The number of racks should correspond to the number of corners of the gazebo.

For the erection of support posts in the intended places, using a brace or a garden drill, we dig holes about 80 centimeters deep

It is desirable to deepen the support posts below the freezing level of the soil, which is from 80 -100 cm. We fill the bottom of the dug holes with a layer of sand and gravel mixture. We install metal poles in the center of the holes. Using a level, we determine their verticality, and then fill the voids with cement mortar.

Another option for erecting racks is also possible, in which a columnar foundation is installed in the designated places at a depth below the freezing level of the soil - concrete columns with mortgages. Metal poles-supports will be welded to these mortgages.

After installing the vertical racks, horizontal crossbars can be welded to them, which can be metal pipes or bars

The veins are placed in two rows, the width between which is 1.2-1.5 meters. Sheathing (boards, lining, polycarbonate) will be attached to them in the future.

The metal structure can be assembled both with the help of self-tapping screws and bolts, and by welding. The choice depends only on whether the owner knows how to work with a welding machine or whether he has the opportunity to invite an experienced welder. The main advantage of a bolted connection is the ability to dismantle the structure on winter time. But at the same time, do not forget that during the operation of the structure, the bolted connections will have to be constantly tightened.

Step #4 - arranging the hexagonal roof of the structure

So that the water flowing from the roof does not flood the structure, we place the transverse logs so that they come out 50 cm from each end.

To equip the correct eight- or hexagonal roof, we weld the transverse beams to the support posts, placing them at a distance of two meters from each other

We weld the logs to the metal crossbars, and then, guided by the level, we apply and fix the rafters

The easiest option for arranging a roof is sheathing with polycarbonate sheets. To do this, we make holes in the metal rafters for attaching the roofing material. In order to correctly set the first sheet of the roof, we lay two sheets, calculate them and set the desired angle and offset. After that, we remove the first sheet, and fix the second one on the screws. We fasten all the sheets of the roof in turn, to stiffen them, fastening them together through two waves.

The gazebo is almost ready. It remains to attach the side panels and paint the metal elements of the frame. colorize finished structure possible by powder coating. A good result is also given by the traditional version of painting, in which a layer of soil is first applied to the surface, and then paint for metal.

Arbor - great opportunity relax in comfort outdoors. This building can be found in almost every yard, on every personal plot. Today they are built from wood, stone, brick, concrete, but the most openwork and lightest gazebos are made of metal.

In this article we will talk about the types and advantages of metal arbors, what they are made of, we will analyze in detail how to design the structure correctly, calculate the dimensions and make a drawing. We also provide detailed step by step instructions how to make a gazebo from a metal profile with your own hands.

Metal superiority

There are many advantages to metal gazebos. In a metal profile construction, you can easily express an infinite variety of shapes, sizes and proportions, in a small architectural form you can embody the most incredible fantasies. Needless to say, high-quality metal summerhouses are durable and reliable, and besides, they are very light buildings.

Artistic forging will decorate even the simplest gazebo

With proper processing and care, metal gazebos can stand for many decades, they do not require expensive maintenance during operation, and if necessary, they can always be repaired.

And if wooden buildings it is necessary to protect it from chemical and biological influences, from insects, rot, fungi, then perhaps the only serious enemy of the metal profile is rust, but with modern processing methods this has ceased to be a problem. Good protection is powder coating, various primers and anti-corrosion compounds, hammer paint, which can be applied independently.

Advice: Metal is a material with high thermal conductivity, it heats up quickly and cools down just as quickly. Therefore, if a metal gazebo is entwined with vines and or perennial loaches, then it is better to remove them from the frame for the winter, otherwise they may freeze out.

Design features

By and large, all metal arbors are a welded or prefabricated frame at the corners, on which a kind of truss system for the roof is fixed.

Material

The frame is usually made of a profile pipe: round or square, corner, art rolled. For large structures, a frame welded from a channel can serve as the basis.

In terms of installation speed, garden metal gazebos have no competitors; with ready-made drawings and the availability of material, a small, simple welded structure can be made within a few hours.

It is impossible to ignore light, summer gazebos on a collapsible aluminum or iron frame, with an awning roof, and sometimes with canopy walls. The modern market offers a huge number of summer arbors-tents, large and small, but, as a rule, they are rectangular or square shape sometimes multifaceted.

And of course, forged arbors, there is no limit to fantasy, rectangular and round, in the form of carriages and ships, decorated with tracery curlicues and very simple. A wrought iron gazebo is undoubtedly a special chic of landscape design.

And completely the new kind summer buildings - metal-plastic gazebos. These are collapsible products made of steel profile processed anti-corrosion composition and covered with a thick layer of PVC. They do not rust, do not rot, they are not afraid of rodents and fungi, they are not afraid of moisture and temperature changes. When installing a metal-plastic gazebo, it is important to properly prepare the site, the elements should not come into contact with the ground. It is better if it is a slab foundation or columnar.

The product does not require additional maintenance during operation, and this saves money and time

Design

The types and style of gazebos are striking in their diversity. Even simple garden gazebos from a professional pipe can be decorated with openwork forged elements, and the building will literally be transformed.

I must say that welded gazebos made of metal combined with some other material look very original, for example, if part of the supporting pillars is made of natural stone, or the parapet is made of decorative wooden lattice.

Photo of metal gazebos combined with brick

Recently, it has become fashionable to make gazebo pavilions. The closed part of the building is laid out of brick, sometimes glazed, and a metal open canopy is attached to it. The entire structure can be made under one roof, but most often polycarbonate is used for the metal frame.

Forms

The metal is very plastic, easy to weld, which allows you to make gazebos of various configurations: rectangular, round, multifaceted, combined from several geometric shapes and curvilinear.

Note that metal gazebos always look light and elegant, and if you correctly think over the design and decor of the structure, then it is difficult to find equal beauty and luxury to them. They can safely compete with wood lace and beauty. natural stone. And besides, metal goes well with almost any material, so there is no limit to the perfection of metal arbors.

Design

An independent gazebo project should include:

  • a site plan with a designation of a place for a gazebo, other outbuildings and trees should also be marked on it, so that during construction you do not have to face an annoying hindrance;
  • a sketch of the building, you can draw it yourself or find a picture on the Internet;
  • location drawing bearing walls or pillars, supports, as well as overall dimensions gazebos;
  • scheme for pouring the foundation, usually for small architectural forms a columnar base is laid: it is imperative to provide supports at the corners and in the middle of the structure;
Advice: To use the gazebo with comfort, do not forget about the wind rose in your area. Locate the entrance on the side where the least wind blows.

Sketches

Of course, looking at photos of beautiful structures is sometimes breathtaking. Beauty! Want! But do not forget that a gazebo will be built with your own hands made of metal, so choose simple designs echoing the design of the main house. Of course, if the plot is large, and the gazebo will hide in the depths of the garden, among the trees, then you can give free rein to your imagination.

Also keep in mind that it is easiest to build a rectangular metal gazebo, small in size, with a vaulted polycarbonate roof, but even in this case there are difficulties, you will have to bend the pipes, and this will require a template or a pipe bender. The roof can be replaced with a hipped one, but then a little more material is required.

It is better to design a building on vertical supports ah-pipes (round or square), and after the frame is assembled, you can buy ready-made forged elements and decorate the gazebo from the metal profile.

Dimensions

The dimensions of the gazebo directly depend on the functionality of the structure, if this is a room for two, then 3-4 m 2 is enough, for a large company the area is calculated based on a comfortable stay for 1 person - 2-4 m 2. But as practice has shown and according to numerous reviews on the forums, it can be argued that the most popular gazebos are 3 * 3 m, 3 * 4 m, 6 * 4m.

If the site is small, then it is advisable to build a small metal gazebo-barrel, you can’t walk around in it, but you can sit at the table in a close company.

Photo of a gazebo from a metal profile, a portable, practical and ergonomic frame for small garden plots

Important: If the gazebo from the profile is small and light, then the foundation can not be laid, it is enough to clear the area and place flat stones or blocks under the corners. But it is better to pave the area under the gazebo with paving stones.

How to weld a gazebo from a metal profile with your own hands

Arbor made of metal photos, drawings and step by step instructions the manufacture of which are described below, has rectangular shape 3 * 4 m, height 2.7 m, hip roof, the structure is assembled from metal profiles of different sections.

The parapet of the gazebo can be made from ready-made forged gratings, sewn up with wood or polycarbonate

The construction of a gazebo for summer cottages made of metal begins with clearing the site for the foundation. Remove debris, transfer the markings from the drawings to the terrain, pull the rope around the corners, check the geometry of the corners.

How to make a foundation

Remove upper layer soil. Dig holes for the posts, 500-700 mm deep. In our case, these are 12 pillars, as shown in the diagram below.

Foundation, pillar layout

The pillars can be laid out of bricks or blocks, in which case do not forget about the reinforcing strapping every 3-4 rows, you can also use asbestos pipes or ready-made concrete blocks. We will pour monolithic concrete supports. At the bottom of the pit, pour gravel 100 mm, sand 100 mm, tamp. Tie the frame of the post from the reinforcement, 4 ribbed rods of 8-10 mm are enough, you can simply poke the reinforcement into the ground, but in this case it will quickly rust.

At the bottom of the pit, on a pillow, pour concrete, 70-100 mm thick, install the prepared reinforcing cage into it, wrap it in 2 layers with roofing material, pour concrete so that the post is 100-200 mm above ground level. Insert rods into the middle of the posts so that they stick out. We will tie the frame of the gazebo to them.

Good to know: Reinforced concrete post cross section 400 * 400 mm can withstand loads up to 40 tons.

Concrete pillars can be loaded after 28 days, when the mortar has fully set

Installing the metal base

For vertical supports, we take square metal poles 100 * 100 mm, but smaller sections are also suitable. Install the vertical posts on the foundation pillars and secure with anchors, additionally weld them to the reinforcement previously released from the foundation.

To increase the fulcrum and reliability of fastening, weld the sole from one end of the pillars

It is advisable to connect the columns along the perimeter from the bottom along the perimeter and the middle ones with a channel 100 * 100 mm. From above, we tie the supports with a rectangular pipe, with a section of 40 * 40 mm, 40 * 60 mm, we also connect the central supports with each other. It remains to be made truss system.

The rafters are boiled on the ground, from a pipe 20 * 20 mm. Can be assembled as a whole and then lifted with a crane. And you can make farms in parts. Separately, we cook the ridge beam, in the photo there is a rectangle in the middle, then corner trusses. In place (at the top), the truss system is additionally connected with metal pipes.

The truss system can be made of both metal and wood.

We clean the metal frame from rust, scale and oil stains, primer and paint. From above, we sheathe the rafters with plywood, 12 mm thick, moisture resistant, and on it with a stele soft roof. We lay logs on the floor, wooden bars 50 * 100 mm, we sew them with a tongue-and-groove board or decking.

Do-it-yourself metal gazebos can be decorated with forged elements or wood, it all depends on the design of the metal structures and on the construction budget

Metal summer arbors are quite difficult to manufacture. Here you need both knowledge in plumbing and experience, and a special tool (welding machine, grinder, etc.). However, you can make a simple structure from profiled pipes with your own hands.

Such designs look very aesthetically pleasing. In addition, they fit perfectly into any exterior of the site.

Varieties of metal structures

There are many options for garden gazebos made of metal.

  1. Their design can be openwork and resemble an Asian tent or imitate a medieval European fortress..
  2. Lightweight open structures made of metal supports and roofs can be mounted without a foundation. More massive closed counterparts with walls will suit any kind of foundation.

  1. The gazebo can serve as a place for both passive and active rest . In the latter case, for example, you can install a table tennis table in it. A metal gazebo can serve as summer kitchen. To do this, you can build a cooking oven, barbecue or barbecue in it.
  2. Summer gazebos made of metal have a durable steel frame. This makes it possible to equip the roof with any coating: polycarbonate, metal profile, ondulin, slate, metal and traditional tiles, etc.
  3. Such structures can be both permanent (stationary) and collapsible (temporary).

Note!
A mobile gazebo can be installed in the spring anywhere on the site, in the fall it can be disassembled and stored in a barn until the next season.
Such lightweight structures do not require pouring the foundation.

Features of the installation of the structure

The instruction says that optimal solution for collapsible arbors, this is to dig iron pipes into the ground, and insert the ends of the base of the structure into them.

Frame manufacturing

  1. Pipes should be coated with an anti-corrosion agent.
  2. When the arbor is removed in winter, the open top hole of the pipes should be clogged so that debris and water do not get into it.
  3. Stationary iron gazebos for summer cottages can be placed on a slab, tape or column foundation with its waterproofing.
  4. Be sure to check the pipes for the frame racks for their verticality.
  5. If you make a preliminary drawing of the gazebo, it will not be difficult for you to determine how much building materials will be necessary for its construction.
  6. It is most advisable to make a gazebo frame from profiled pipes having a rectangular or square section. They must be at least 2 mm thick. Structures from them look much neater than analogues from a channel or round pipes.
  7. Metal corners are useful for construction partitions.
  8. Bearing frame supports should be inserted into the dug-in pipes, and then welded to them.
  9. Next, the frame of the gazebo should be checked for its verticality.
  10. On the upper edge of the support must be fixed with horizontal pipes.
  11. If the garden gazebo is a fairly large structure, install additional supports and cross members.

Assembling a resting place

  1. Mounting the gazebo frame can be done in two ways: using bolts or welding elements. The second method is more preferable. However, if there is no electricity on the site, in this case you should rent a diesel generator to give. (See also the article.)

  1. The next stage of work - the arrangement of the roof. A good solution would be to install a two-tier version of the roof. A round roof will also look good.
  2. Choosing roofing material for a metal gazebo, you will not be limited in your choice.

Note!
The only point - you should not get hung up on the metal.
In the warm season, it will heat up.
Therefore, even in the evening it will be too hot in the gazebo.

Arbor decoration

The final stage of construction is the decoration of the gazebo.

  1. Wrought-iron gazebos for summer cottages look great. In this case, the main design is complemented by decorative elements created by professional blacksmiths. They can be placed between the frame profiles, welded to the crossbars and uprights. Then the rough metal construction will become elegant and lacy.
  2. You can also choose a fundamentally different way of decorating, the price of which will be low.. For example, with the help of living plants. Plant perennials around: hops, clematis, parthenocissus, ivy, etc. Having wrapped metal structural elements, they will not only decorate it, but will also protect you from the rays of the sun and winds.

Why paint metal

Arbors for summer cottages made of metal are reliable and durable. However, do not neglect their care.

In order to protect the building material from rust as much as possible, after completing the main work, be sure to paint the gazebo.

  1. The most durable powder polymer coating. However, it is possible to process metal with its help only on special equipment in workshop conditions.
  2. On your own, you can first prime the steel elements, then cover them with weather-resistant nitro enamel.
  3. A great option is to use blacksmith's "hammer" paint. It can even be applied to rusty material.

Conclusion

Country houses from block containers or from traditional materials can always be supplemented with a convenient, practical and reliable gazebo made of metal. It will become your favorite vacation spot. suburban area. The video in this article will help you understand its topic.

People come to the dacha not only to garden or garden all day. On a suburban area you can enjoy nature, take a break from the bustle of the city, relax in a friendly company. Some people prefer to install metal gazebos on their plots for summer cottages: these are wonderful places to relax, which differ big amount benefits. It is worth understanding the types of such structures and the features of their use.

Advantages and disadvantages

You can make a metal gazebo for a summer residence yourself or buy it ready-made. Such a design will in any case have many advantages (of course, if you chose high-quality materials and approached its creation with the utmost seriousness).

Consider the main advantages of such structures, which are noted by many owners of summer cottages.

  • Ease of installation. You can create a structure from a metal profile and install it in a day (if you understand the features of installation work).
  • Light weight. A gazebo on a metal frame is especially well suited if the soil in your area is heaving and not stable. Installation of this design can be carried out without a foundation. It can be portable or stationary.
  • Long service life. If metal care is regular and correct, it is quite possible that the gazebo will last for many years.

  • Strength. Rectangular, square, round metal profiles are very strong. It is quite difficult to break or damage such products (both during use and during installation work).
  • The ability to combine metal products with other materials.
  • Resistant to insects, rodents, fungus or mold. Iron products do not rot.
  • Undemanding to external conditions, ease of use. Caring for such arbors is as simple as possible: you just need to regularly apply compounds to them that prevent corrosion. To prevent rusting of structural elements, paint can be applied to them.

  • Fire resistance. It will be possible to install a brazier in a metal gazebo without fear that the structure will catch fire.
  • Lots of possible designs. You can not purchase a finished product, but order a non-standard individual project.
  • Acceptable price.
  • Appearance neatness.

However, metal arbors also have disadvantages. Such material does not differ in thermal insulation properties. But this shortcoming not very important, because country gazebos are usually used in the summer. When on metal surface affects sunlight, it heats up, but excessive heating can be avoided by installing the structure under the trees (there will be a shadow on it). To get a refreshing coolness and shade, you can plant climbing plants near the gazebo.

If you prefer elite appearance structures, you can decorate the structure with forged elements. Such a gazebo will turn out elegant, stylish, it will look very noble.

Varieties

Usually such arbors are created on the basis of a metal frame. Such structures are prefabricated on the corners or welded. To be able to attach the roof, a truss system is attached to the frame.

materials

Most often, a profile pipe is used to create a frame. If the dimensions of the structure are very significant, you can choose a frame welded from a channel as a basis. Installation work is usually carried out as quickly as possible. The creation of simple welded structures often takes several hours.

Many owners of summer cottages prefer lightweight structures., for the creation of which prefabricated frames made of iron or aluminum are used. You can use canopies-walls, tent roof. At the present time, there are many small and large structures in the form of tents on the market. Structures are multifaceted, but square, rectangular shapes are more common.

Forged design can be absolutely any, depending on the imagination of customers. Modern craftsmen can create entire ships, carriages, use openwork curlicues to decorate the gazebo.

Some choose metal-plastic structures for their summer cottages. They are collapsible. Such structures are created from a steel profile, on which a thick layer of PVC is applied, as well as a composition that prevents corrosion. These surfaces are very resistant to temperature changes, moisture, fungi, rodents, and decay.

Before carrying out the installation of a metal-plastic structure, care must be taken to carefully prepare the surface where such a gazebo will be installed. It is recommended to opt for a slab or columnar foundation.

Design

Today, there are many options for the design of gazebos made of metal. You can easily choose a design that fits perfectly into the overall design of your site. Even an ordinary design will become very beautiful if, for example, additional forged openwork elements are added to it. Other materials can be used to decorate gazebos, such as wood lattices or stone pillars.

Forms

Metal can be given the most different forms, because such a material is characterized by increased plasticity. It is processed by welding. So you can get curvilinear outlines, multifaceted structures, round or rectangular structures.

Arbors made of metal are usually distinguished by grace and aesthetics. However, you need to take the decoration of the structure as seriously as possible - only in this case it will become a unique highlight of your site.

Create a project

First, you will need to prepare a construction project for a summer residence, which consists of several components.

  • The scheme, focusing on which, you will create the foundation. If the structure is small, they usually opt for a columnar foundation. You will need to take care of creating supports in the middle of the structure and at the corners.
  • A drawing showing the dimensions of the structure, as well as the location of the supporting pillars or load-bearing walls.
  • Construction sketch (you can find an image on the Internet or draw a gazebo yourself).
  • The plan of your territory, where the site for the construction will be marked. To avoid unnecessary problems during the implementation construction works, also mark the trees and other structures that are on the site.

To create a drawing or sketch, you can use a special computer program. This is very convenient, because you can see everything from any angle.

When creating a gazebo, try to take into account which side the wind blows most often., and choose the most convenient position for the structure (so that the entrance is located where it blows less often). So you will ensure comfort for yourself, your loved ones and guests.

Many owners of summer cottages choose the size of the gazebo 3x3 meters. It is considered one of the most suitable for such structures. In such a gazebo, you can comfortably accommodate family members or a small company. 4x4, 3x4 options are also popular.

Preparation and necessary equipment

About to start installation work an anti-corrosion agent should be applied to all metal surfaces. If necessary, it will be possible to cover the metal structure with paint. When building a large and complex stationary gazebo, you will need to create a foundation.

Prepare the following before installation:

  • steel bars;
  • paint for metal surfaces;
  • metal profile;
  • sand, cement and crushed stone;
  • sheathing material.

To make installation work easier and faster, use the following tools:

  • door with drills, screwdriver;
  • pipe bender;
  • device for welding;
  • shovel (it will be needed to prepare the foundation).

Installation

From the site provided for the gazebo, it will be necessary to remove pollution, various debris. Then use a shovel to dig a hole for the base. There you will need to pour about 50 mm of sand. Tamp it down and fill it with water. Then you should install the formwork with reinforcing mesh.

If the foundation is columnar, you will have to dig several holes(in the middle of the gazebo and in the corners). The pillars can be monolithic concrete, made of asbestos pipes, blocks, brick elements. Pour gravel and sand into the bottom of all holes. Then you will need to pour concrete and install the reinforcement bars, since you will tie the frame of the structure to them. Install the frame on the foundation. Scald the posts with veins (you will need two rows).

Then you will need to install the truss system. It can be wooden or metal. To make it more convenient for you, create such a system on the ground, not on the roof. Then install it on top of the structure. When all the elements of the building are installed, take care of the sheathing of the walls of the structure and work with the roof.

Structure from a profile pipe.

For cladding the floor of a metal structure, some prefer to use tile coverings or paving stones.

It's hard to imagine a holiday country cottage without cozy gatherings in an openwork gazebo. Now their choice is so wide that it can satisfy any wishes: carved wooden, monumental stone or metal lace arbors. Each of the types has its own “pros” and “cons”, however, metal gazebos have the most pleasant ratio: many advantages and very few disadvantages.

Benefits of a metal gazebo

  • Undemanding to the place of installation.

Arbors made of metal can be installed on any type of soil, including unstable ones. Some hosts country houses do not even prepare the foundation for its installation. However, experts still advise taking care of at least a columnar foundation or pouring concrete on the site.

An excellent option would also be laying tiles or paving stones as the floor of a metal gazebo. If the owners of the dacha have chosen a portable type of gazebo, then such a platform can be used as a place for daytime children's games, and in the evening turn it into a place for intimate conversations over a samovar.

  • Variety of shapes, proportions and sizes.

Metal gazebos for summer cottages often have an original, surprisingly beautiful appearance. In the offers of specialized companies, you can find options that will favorably emphasize almost any design of a country house and become a favorite vacation spot for owners and their guests.

  • Lightness and strength.

The light weight of the metal structure allows you not to spend money on an expensive foundation, and also gives the gazebo mobility. Strength is one of the most important positive qualities for which they love the metal gazebo so much. She is not afraid of ground movements, while the frame retains its shape much better compared to arbors made of wood or brick.

  • Precision and ease of assembly.

Having created independently or with the help of a designer the appearance of a future gazebo made of metal, you can easily order the right dimensions decorative elements and parts of the prefabricated structure. It will not be difficult to correctly calculate the angles and fix the parts. Even if an annoying mistake creeps into your calculations, you can fix it quickly and without much effort. This lightness hides another “plus” of a metal structure, which products made from other materials cannot boast of.

  • Fire safety and durability.

In metal gazebos, you can safely light a fire - it will not cause damage. May holidays are not complete without barbecue, and only in such a gazebo it can be cooked quite calmly and do it for many years, because with proper care, metal gazebos can faithfully serve their owners for decades, or even centuries.

Neither mold, nor rot, nor rust will spoil the appearance of the gazebo, for this you only need to cover it with a special anti-corrosion compound or hammer paint and do not install it on wet soil. Forged arbors themselves have excellent protection against rust - during processing, the density of the material and its structure change, making the metal more durable.

"Cons" gazebos for summer cottages made of metal

The disadvantages of a gazebo made of metal include the complete lack of thermal insulation: in cold weather, it will not be possible to organize gatherings. That is why such gazebos are made open, openwork, because they can be used comfortably only in the warm season.

It should also be borne in mind that the metal has a high thermal conductivity (heats up and cools down quickly), which means that the plants that are sometimes used to decorate the gazebo should be removed for the winter, otherwise they face death from frozen metal.

Varieties of structures and cladding materials

The most popular, metal arbors, are assembled from profile pipes with square, round or rectangular section galvanized or painted. Forged arbors are also installed in the dachas, which are distinguished by their elegant appearance, but high price manufacturing limits their popularity.

Recently, the owners of country houses began to install metal-plastic arbors, assembled from a steel profile treated with a special compound and coated with a layer of PVC. They are distinguished by their high resistance to rust, rotting, moisture and weather vagaries, but the requirements for the foundation and unpretentious appearance still keep this type of arbors in low ranking positions.

The material for sheathing is most often chosen from polycarbonate, a thin sheathing board (lining) or euroslate made of cellulose (ondulin). Polycarbonate is chosen for its ability to let in daylight inside the gazebo, and ondulin for silence during rain (the material drowns out the sounds of drops). The connection of a metal structure and wooden or brick supporting pillars, parapets looks beautiful.

Types of gazebos

A gazebo made of metal most often has a quadrangular shape, less often hexagonal and octagonal structures are installed in summer cottages. The latter are more difficult to assemble, but they look much more interesting and original. Polycarbonate is used for their sheathing, since it is more plastic and makes it possible to create a truly unusual roof for a gazebo.

Experts also distinguish between open and closed metal gazebos. Closed structures are completely covered, for example, with polycarbonate sheets, protecting those sitting inside from wind, dust and, partially, from noise. When installing such a gazebo, do not forget about the wind rose - the entrance to it should be from the least windy side. However, you will not be able to enjoy the natural beauties in a closed gazebo. In this sense, an open gazebo, which gives maximum visibility, differs favorably from it.

We have already mentioned about stationary and portable gazebos above. The supporting pillars of stationary structures are fixed in the ground and poured with concrete. An oven or barbecue is immediately installed in them. For portable or mobile arbors, the supports are welded to a horizontal frame, while having rather modest dimensions.

Structural dimensions

The dimensions of the gazebo are chosen based on the estimated number of people who will rest in it. Experts advise choosing a structure height of at least 2.3 meters, while the area should be such that each person has approximately 4 m². Compliance with these wishes will ensure guaranteed comfort for vacationers, however, the dimensions suburban area not always allow to realize all expert advice. Most often, summer cottages have an area of \u200b\u200b3x3 or 3x4 meters, at least not less than 2.5x2.5 m.

A country gazebo, no doubt, can be built with your own hands, however, if the owner of the site does not have free time, special skills or special tools, he can contact a company that is professionally engaged in the manufacture and installation of metal structures for recreation in a suburban area. The company's designers will select a suitable design option or evaluate the already selected pattern, and the employees will bring and install the finished structure in the shortest possible time.
