How to paint eggs in onion peel and tea leaves with your own hands.

I hesitated for a long time whether to give this topic or not. It seems that everyone knows this is the oldest and most reliable way to paint eggs. But I remembered how hotly they always discuss it on culinary forums, everyone shares their little things and secrets. Or maybe there are girls who don’t know how to paint .. so I’m posting photos with my last year’s dyed eggs, my tried and tested recipe and a few tips from the forum. If at least one person needs this information, that's good.

To dye eggs in onion skins, first we prepare a decoction of onion peel, let it brew. If you want the color of the eggs to be more saturated, you need to take more husks. In order for the eggs to color evenly, they must first be degreased: I wipe each egg with a damp cloth with baking soda and rinse. Then raw eggs should lie down lie down in cold water 1-2 hours, dry them.

With egg white, I pasted parsley leaves, lilac flowers and feathers from a brush with which I grease pastries. And I packed them in nylon (you know why, I won’t dwell on it in detail 🙂 Since my eggs, like all the eggs sold in Hungary, were all brown initially, I had to cook only in onion peel. First, of course, I experimented with the following solutions on one egg (hibiscus tea - red and pink, turmeric solution - shades of yellow, lemon, red cabbage decoction - from blue to blue, carrot juice- shades of orange). Nothing took on brown eggs and I had to boil them in a tried and tested way. By the way, onions perfectly disinfect and eggs do not deteriorate for a long time.

We filter the solution, not through a colander, but rather with gauze, and lower the eggs there. The surface of the eggs should not protrude above the water, bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes. Remove, free from capron and cool in cold water. I cracked a couple of eggs, even though I poured salt into the solution on the advice of a friend. But this, as they say, is the cost of production. Then I cleaned the stickers with a brush in water. After the eggs have dried, I advise you to wipe with a cloth greased with vegetable oil let them dry. The eggs will be shiny and festive. After they are dry, they can be transferred to a plate with sprouted wheat. Very nice - multi-colored eggs on a green background.

I also read that beautiful patterns, such as marble, are obtained if painted with garlic husks. Due to the fact that garlic husks come in different thicknesses - it gives the eggs color in different ways, somewhere almost white, somewhere darker and such bizarre flowers-patterns are obtained.

Methods for dyeing white eggs
