And with all his soul, Prince Vladimir clung to Christ. He chose the faith himself, and he made the choice for our entire land. And it happened not violently, but calmly. He said: if someone loves me, if someone considers me his friend, come to the Dnieper to be baptized. And everyone who loved their prince, who trusted his choice, followed him to the Dnieper. Today, during the divine service, we heard the message of the Apostle Paul, which spoke of how Paul first persecuted the Church of God, and then converted and became a chosen vessel of God's grace, a faithful disciple of the Savior. Something similar happened to Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir. He was not a minister of any faith, he was rather a supporter of a cheerful, wide, wild life. But then, when he made his choice, when he accepted Christ into his heart, when he was baptized, then his life changed completely.

A reflection of this change is the people's love for Prince Vladimir, whom people called Vladimir the Red Sun. And today we are all still basking in the rays of this sun, which overshadowed and illuminated the entire Russian land with the light of the Gospel. Today we glorify his memory - the memory of the man whom the Church recognized and called equal to the holy apostles.

We honor his memory and pray that through his prayers the Lord will confirm our people, our land, our Fatherland in Orthodoxy. So that the choice that he made at the end of the first millennium would remain adamant until the end of the century. Amen".
