When douching with soda, the pH of the vagina changes to the alkaline side, therefore, optimal conditions are created for the life of ejaculate cells.

Douching is carried out at the rate of: half a teaspoon of bicarbonate per 0.5 l of water. The procedure is best done before the start of sexual intercourse, about half an hour. Today, medicine successfully uses various methods treatment of infertility, the choice of which depends on the causes that caused it. Most often, the treatment of infertility of the 1st degree (if the woman has never become pregnant) is to fight infections, hormonal disorders, and physiological abnormalities. Treatment of secondary infertility in women (which is said if there was a history of pregnancy) involves the elimination of the consequences of abortion, gynecological diseases, and adhesions.

Treatment of immunological infertility

The appearance of immunological infertility is due to the development of so-called

antispermal bodies that block spermatogenesis and serve as an obstacle to fertilization. This disorder occurs in both men and women; in the second case, antisperm bodies are produced in the cervical canal, in some cases - in the tubes and endometrium. As a rule, even after treatment, it is not possible to completely prevent the formation of antisperm bodies, but it is possible to reduce their number using several methods.

Immunosuppression

Immunosuppression is a therapy aimed at suppressing immune bodies by taking glucocorticoids (most often it is prednisone and dexamethasone). For a long time in Russia, this method was the leading form of treatment for immunological infertility, but at present it is rarely used, since it involves the appointment of strong drugs in large doses, which leads to many side effects and complications.

Contraceptive therapy

Contraceptive therapy to prevent sperm from entering the genital tract (use of condoms for at least 6 months). This is necessary so that the concentration of antibodies in the cervical mucus and blood plasma of a woman decreases.

Intrauterine insemination

Intrauterine insemination is the most commonly used method by which treatment is carried out. female infertility caused by immune factors. The technique involves the introduction of sperm into the uterus; this eliminates its contact with cervical mucus. The effectiveness of the method, according to statistics, reaches 30-40%. Its other advantages are painlessness and low cost in comparison with IVF, as evidenced by patient reviews:

Natalia: “We decided to start with insemination, and only then, if there is a failure, spend money on IVF. Hooray, I have two strips, after the first procedure. True, I had to pass a bunch of tests before her, but it was worth it. ”

Elena: “At first I was stimulated by ovulation: I drank hormones and folic acid. Did a lot of tests. The procedure itself is completely painless, reminiscent of a regular appointment with a gynecologist. But she did not help me, although I know many couples to whom she gave children.

Hormonal treatment for infertility

Also called endocrine, occurs due to ovulation disorders,

Treatment of endocrine infertility involves taking hormonal drugs

which, in turn, are caused by hormonal changes. Accordingly, the treatment of endocrine infertility in women involves, first of all, taking hormonal drugs. Drug therapy in this case, by its nature and purpose, is:

  1. Normalizing functions endocrine system, restoring the work of the adrenal glands, thyroid gland and other organs responsible for the production of hormones. For example, with hyperprolactinemia, infertility treatment with bromocriptine, a drug that regulates prolactin levels, may be prescribed.
  1. Replacement, that is, replacing the function of the ovaries (for example, with luteal phase deficiency or polycystic ovary syndrome). Usually, estrogen-progestin drugs are prescribed - triquilar, mersilon, regividon and others.
  1. Stimulating, aimed at activating the ovaries. In gynecology, the following groups of drugs are commonly used:

- clomiphene citrate (drugs clomiphene, clomid, clostilbegit). As a result of taking the drug, multiple pregnancy is possible;

- gonadotropins (follicle-stimulating and luteinizing), which contribute to the maturation of the egg, in the form of injections.

Patient reviews

Svetlana: “It was not possible to get pregnant for many years, as it turned out - due to high prolactin. The doctor prescribed bromocriptine. In the reviews I read about a lot of side effects, so I was afraid to take it at first. But it turned out that it is easier for me to tolerate than other similar drugs.

Anna:“Bromocriptine really has a lot of side effects, but if you take it, increasing the dose, then they are minimal. Good doctors usually prescribe that. Thanks to him, not only did my cycle recover, but I also lost weight. Now let's get pregnant."

Catherine: “The doctor prescribed clomiphene, but warned that cysts may appear and that multiple pregnancy is possible. I was afraid, but accepted. Pregnancy occurred in the first cycle.

Hope: "I drank clomiphene, there was no pregnancy in the first cycle, so in the second month they added an injection of gonadotropin and everything worked out."

In some cases, the treatment of infertility in women

Most fertility surgeries in women are performed laparoscopically.

conservative way is impossible; most often this happens with some forms of obstruction of the fallopian tubes, but other diseases that cause infertility are often treated surgically. Let's name the most frequent operations in the modern practice of combating female infertility and give feedback on the passage of operations and their results:

  1. Endocoagulation- an operation that is performed with endometriosis and aims to eliminate its foci. The procedure is considered quite laborious, since it is important to destroy all foci in order to avoid their further growth. At the same time, however, it is very effective, as evidenced by reviews:

Tatiana: “Several foci of endometriosis and a small cyst were found in me, everything was removed. Not only did they interfere with pregnancy, I constantly felt pain. After the operation, she took many different pills, but in the end she managed to get pregnant. True, the doctor said that endometriosis does not always cause infertility, it all depends on where the foci are located.

  1. Salpingo-ovariolysis- removal of adhesions located in the region of the appendages. The operation may be independent or be one of the stages of preparation for plastic surgery of the fallopian tubes, carried out to restore their patency. Patients so respond about operation:

Julia: “I had left-sided salpingo-ovariolysis, although the tube, despite adhesions, was passable throughout its length. The operation itself went almost unnoticed. One doctor said to use for conception time after surgery. Another is to drink Jeanine for four months and only then get pregnant. I listened to the first one, and in the end I managed to get pregnant.

  1. Salpingostomy (or stomatoplasty)- this is the name of the operation, in which a new hole is formed in the fallopian tube, in the event that one of its sections is impassable. Such an operation is performed, including, with hydrosalpinx, a disease in which fluid accumulates in the fallopian tube. The recovery period after the intervention is short, as evidenced by

Pathologies of the reproductive organs in women and men make it impossible to enjoy parental happiness. Deviations that negatively affect reproductive functions are diagnosed in many couples. Treatment of female infertility

Each hospital treats infertility in women according to a standard scheme. Is infertility treated? Undoubtedly. Depending on the complexity of the situation, the patient is offered conservative therapy with the use of effective medications, surgery, hormone therapy, treatment of inflammation and chronic infections in the female genital organs. When addressing you with such complaints, the infertility treatment clinic will provide a full range of examinations aimed at establishing the true causes of the condition, and then draw up a scheme for such an event as an infertility treatment program.

Treatment of female infertility with medication

Treatment of female infertility with drugs is used if the pathology is endocrine (hormonal) in nature. Infertility treatment with hormones is suitable for women who do not have adhesions in the fallopian tubes and scars on the uterus itself. The main goal of treatment for endocrine infertility is to remove hormonal disorders, to normalize the level of hormones.

Treatment of hormonal infertility: drugs

The therapeutic course for infertile patients includes preparations based on the following active ingredients.

  1. Treatment of endocrine infertility: urinary gonadotropins. A complex of hormones of the anterior pituitary region (including luteinizing and FSH) obtained from purified female urine (it is collected during the postmenopausal period). Medicines are used to stimulate the ovaries (including during the IVF procedure), as well as to increase the quality and number of eggs. Urinary gonadotropins act directly on the ovaries. With insufficiency of the luteal phase, infertility treatment with duphaston is used.
  2. Clomid (clomiphene citrate). Indirectly affects the production of special hormones by the pituitary gland that stimulate follicles. The drug is prescribed to women with ovarian pathologies (for example, polycystic). Clomid increases the number of simultaneously developing eggs and follicles, the phenomenon of superovulation is a condition after infertility treatment.
  3. Recombinant gonadotropins. This type infertility medication is a product of genetic engineering. The pharmacological properties of the drug are similar to urinary gonadotropins. The difference between the two is that luteinizing hormones and FSH are used in pure form and do not contain any impurities. The advantage of recombinant gonadotropins is in their high efficiency and biological activity. They have a direct effect on the ovaries, stimulate the growth of eggs and follicles and give a better effect than urinary gonadotropins.

Treatment of immunological infertility

If a woman is diagnosed with immunological infertility, it is treated for 2-3 months using:

  • antihistamines;
  • treatment of infertility with corticosteroid tablets. This therapy can also be attributed to cases where hormones are used for infertility.

Treatment of immunological infertility in men

Treatment of female infertility with antibiotic therapy.

The cause of female infertility may be an inflammatory process in the reproductive organs. Pathology is treated with antibiotics:

  • cefamandol;
  • metronidazole;
  • metrogil;
  • ofloxacin;
  • ciprofloxacin;
  • pefloxacin.

It is also important to treat psychological infertility in the presence of such a factor in the occurrence of pathology.

Surgical intervention in the treatment of infertility in women

Surgical treatment of infertility is carried out by a minimally invasive (minimal incision and low level of trauma) method. Doctors use modern technologies, providing access to the organs of the small pelvis and abdominal cavity, carry out the necessary diagnostics with medical manipulations.

Diagnosis and treatment of infertility surgically.

In surgery, the following methods of treating female infertility are used.

  1. 1. Treatment of uterine infertility: hysteroscopy. A special device, a hysteroscope, helps to examine the inner walls of the uterus, and perform an operation (if necessary). The introduction of a hysteroscope into the uterine cavity occurs through the vagina and cervical canal. The hysteroscopy procedure reveals pathological endometrial tissues, which are then taken for histological analysis. With the help of a hysteroscope, surgeons remove pathological formations inside the uterus (endometrioid polyps, adhesions (synechia)). Hysteroscopy is performed in a hospital. Patients quickly recover after it, and the next day they return to their usual lives.
  2. Laparoscopy for infertility. The operation of minor traumatism reveals and removes pathologies that provoke infertility. With the help of laparoscopy, adhesions in the ovaries and fallopian tubes are eliminated, fluid is removed from the sealed tubes, ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids are removed, endometriosis in the pelvic peritoneum and ovaries is treated. The laparoscopy procedure involves the creation by the surgeon of microscopic incisions in the abdominal wall in the navel. The work uses a laparoscope and other surgical instruments. Rehabilitation after surgery takes 3-5 days, and the achieved aesthetic effect is many times better than with abdominal operations. It is used as a treatment for secondary and primary infertility. Often used as a treatment for tubal infertility.

Treatment of female infertility: auxiliary methods

Infertility in women is not always amenable to traditional, surgical and conservative methods of influence. Often, the reproductive functions of the patient are violated under the influence of psychological factors. Severe depression, constant conflicts in the family and at work, disappointments in life - all this leads to chronic stress and psychological infertility. Psychotherapy sessions help to cure the pathology. IN medical practice There are many examples of successful conception of a child after an infertile woman underwent a corrective course with a psychologist or psychotherapist.

Reproductologists offer to cure childlessness with the help of additional technologies. Doctors recommend the following assisted reproductive technologies, which are characterized by a powerful positive effect in the fight against female infertility.

  1. IVF infertility treatment. Most effective method infertility therapy, the essence of which is the fusion of a sperm with an egg outside the uterine cavity (in a specialized laboratory). The fertilized egg is implanted in the woman's uterus, and thus pregnancy occurs. The process of in vitro fertilization is time-consuming and complex, so only experienced fertility doctors can carry it out.
  2. Egg donation. If numerous attempts of a married couple to conceive a baby artificially are unsuccessful, oocyte (egg) donors come to their aid. Egg donation is recommended for those patients who do not have their own ovaries or the production of full-fledged germ cells is impaired.
  3. Intrauterine insemination. In case of infertility of unknown etiology or immune incompatibility of spouses, doctors recommend using the method of intrauterine insemination. The procedure involves the introduction of the ejaculate fluid of the husband into the uterus of the wife with a special catheter. Further, the process of conception occurs according to the classical scheme. The sperm travel through the fallopian tubes to the egg and fertilize it. If a woman has pathologies of the fallopian tubes, their patency is impaired - intrauterine insemination will not give the desired effect.
  4. Surrogacy. The bearing of the fetus is undertaken by a woman who has nothing to do with the married couple. A prepared embryo, formed as a result of the fusion of sperm with an egg, is planted in her uterine cavity. In fact, in vitro fertilization is carried out, but the development of the child takes place inside the womb of another woman. The method is often used by gay couples or single fathers.

How much does female infertility treatment cost?

The cost of treating childlessness in women depends on the drugs prescribed and the number of visits to the gynecologist (if a private clinic is chosen). The cost of a single consultation in gynecology varies from 1.5 to 5 thousand rubles. The total amount, of course, will be more, because the woman will have to go to the doctor more than once.

The cost of surgical procedures associated with the treatment of childlessness in women is relatively low. For example, laparoscopy will cost 19-55 thousand rubles, and for hysteroscopy you will have to pay from 7 to 13 thousand rubles. The final amount is calculated taking into account the type of operation and its volume.

The IVF procedure today has become much more affordable, and is 69-149 thousand rubles. Some private clinics have great deals and good discounts for this service, and the first consultation with a reproductive specialist is free.

Consultations of a psychotherapist in cases where infertility is of a psychological nature will cost 1.5-4.5 thousand rubles. The cost of a psychotherapeutic session reaches 3.5 thousand rubles, and for couples - about 5.7 thousand rubles.

The calculation of the price for oocyte donation is carried out individually in each case. The average cost in Moscow for such a service varies between 60-100 thousand rubles.

Intrauterine insemination costs about 30 thousand rubles. Low price The procedure is due to the fact that expensive medicines are not used during its implementation.

Surrogacy is the most expensive option for solving the problem of infertility. Its price reaches 1.5-2 million rubles. This amount includes medical services provided to a surrogate mother, legal support for a surrogate pregnancy, organizational issues of pregnancy and childbirth.

Male infertility: causes and treatment of pathology

To eliminate male infertility, doctors find out its causes and prescribe adequate treatment for the pathology. The selected complex of therapeutic methods depends on the diagnosis.

Treatment methods for male infertility

  1. If an inflammatory process has developed in the patient's genitourinary system, a complex of drugs is selected for therapeutic purposes. Perhaps the male body suffers from hormonal disorders, the quality of sperm has deteriorated, there are sexually transmitted diseases. In these cases, drug therapy is also recommended.
  2. Methods of treatment of infertility in men in the form of antibiotic therapy. IN individually men suffering from sexually transmitted diseases are prescribed a course of antibiotics.
  3. Hormonal drugs for the treatment of male infertility. If the cause of male infertility is hidden in hormonal disruptions, hormone replacement therapy helps to cope with the problem.
  4. Treatment of infertility with vitamins. Restorative treatment is recommended for males whose sperm is of poor quality. Doctors advise patients with such a problem to include multivitamin supplements in the diet, enrich the menu with products with vitamin D3, and take immunostimulants. Fish oil and sea fish help improve sperm quality.
  5. Sometimes the problem of male childlessness cannot be corrected. Then reproductologists use assistive technologies (for example, they conceive artificially in a laboratory, extracting sperm from the testicles special device, and then connecting them with the female egg).
  6. If there is an obstructive nature, the treatment of infertility in men with drugs is ineffective. Obstructive childlessness in men is treated only by surgery. Blockage of the vas deferens occurs due to cysts, hernias, tumors, scars, varicose veins on the spermatic cord (varicocele). It is impossible to cope with the problem with conservative methods, so medical specialists prefer surgical intervention. Is it true, this method does not give the desired effect to people of advanced years. Surgical manipulations give the best results in the treatment of pathologies of the reproductive system in childhood and adolescence(for example, after suffering infectious diseases).

Male infertility often develops against the background of testosterone deficiency (the main hormone in men). A routine blood test helps determine the level of this hormone. If the results of the study show that the level of testosterone is low, it is possible to increase its amount at home, without drugs and herbal formulations. Below are 10 tips to help men stabilize their hormones. Using them, a patient with infertility will quickly and easily get rid of the problem.

  1. Include zinc-fortified foods in your daily diet. Give preference to poultry meat, seafood, nuts, liver, eggs, milk, sunflower seeds. Zinc is the main component of the testosterone hormone. Under his control is the transformation of female sex hormones into male ones. The process of reverse transformation is excluded.
  2. The production of testosterone is not complete without vitamins A, B and E. If they are not enough in the male body, the amount of testosterone is significantly reduced. Vitamin C plays an equally important role. It reduces the amount of the hormone cortisol in the blood, which suppresses the production of testosterone, and also does not allow the latter to be converted into the female hormone estrogen.
  3. Eat exclusively healthy fats that will ensure the full production of sex hormones. "Good" fats are found in large quantities in fatty fish, nuts, seeds, avocados, olive and peanut oils.
  4. Give your body moderate exercise. If sports are too intense, testosterone levels will drop sharply, and cortisol, on the contrary, will increase.
  5. Lead an active fight against excess weight. Overgrown adipose tissue contains aromatase, endowed with the function of converting testosterone into estrogen. If you decide to lose weight, do not starve yourself. Often this leads to a slowdown in the production of testosterone.
  6. Get good sleep. Give your body a chance to recover. The production of sex hormones will be normal if a man allocates 6-8 hours a day for sleep.
  7. Try to be less nervous, do not expose yourself to stress. If the nervous system is in an unstable state, the body produces a large amount of the hormone cortisol. It, in turn, provokes the accumulation of excess fat in the abdomen and the appearance of female sex hormones in the blood.
  8. Avoid overheating the testicles. In order for them to function better, remove tight trousers and tight underwear from your wardrobe, refuse to take too hot baths, visit the bath less often.
  9. Nicotine greatly reduces the amount of testosterone. Therefore, smoking men who want to restore their reproductive functions, it is better to give up the bad habit, saying goodbye to cigarettes for good.
  10. Eliminate alcohol from your menu. Under the influence of alcoholic beverages, the production of sex hormones slows down or stops altogether. Alcohol leads to the destruction of the main component of testosterone - zinc. In addition, its regular use has a bad effect on the functioning of the endocrine system.

Prevention of male infertility

To prevent the development of male infertility, follow these recommendations.

  1. Eliminate or minimize exposure to harmful physical and chemical substances on the body. Avoid frequent contact with paints, petroleum products and poisons. Do not expose your body to prolonged exposure to vibrations, noise, microwave radiation, high-frequency currents, ionizing radiation, high and low temperatures.
  2. Eat in a balanced way. The daily menu should contain fresh vegetables and fruits, celery, animal meat, unrefined vegetable oils, beekeeping products (honey, royal jelly, flower pollen). Give up vegetarianism, smoked and spicy foods.
  3. Timely engage in surgical treatment of serious pathologies of the reproductive organs ( inguinal hernias, hydrocele, varicocele, phimosis).
  4. Treat inflammatory pathologies of the reproductive organs (epididymitis, prostatitis) in time.
  5. Treat diseases associated with infertility (pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract, diseases of the endocrine system).
  6. Do not forget about the need for regular sexual activity (at least once every 3-5 days) with a regular partner.
  7. Take preventive measures and perform a therapeutic complex against sexually transmitted diseases.
  8. Give up completely bad habits(alcoholism, drug use, smoking).

Alternative methods of infertility treatment

Folk methods treatments give a good effect if (infertility in women) the causes are identified. Before starting alternative treatment for infertility, a man should be examined in a hospital, take blood and sperm for analysis. Based on the results of 2 procedures, the doctor finds out the true causes of the patient's childlessness, determines the volume of seminal fluid, the number and mobility of sperm, the features of their movement, the shape of the tail and head, the degree of viscosity of the ejaculant.

Treatment of male infertility folk remedies

When the causes of violations in the reproductive system are identified, infertility treatment with folk remedies begins. The choice of drugs is made taking into account all aspects of the problem. For example, if a man has low testosterone levels, he needs drugs that increase this hormone. To increase the activity of male germ cells, separate groups of drugs are used. In general, traditional medicine recipes involve the use of properly selected medicinal herbal preparations.

Treatment of male infertility with herbs

Alternative treatment male infertility is carried out using drugs of natural origin from the following list.

  7. IVF Center (Smolensk).

These institutions have been successfully operating for many years, and were able to prove themselves from the best side. The specialists of the clinics use effective methods of treating female infertility (IVF, insemination of sperm into the uterus, ICSI) in their work, they offer a good diagnostic complex (including ultrasound examination of the pelvic organs).

Infertility is a serious problem that deprives a couple of the opportunity to conceive a child. Violations in the body can be the cause of a fruitless marriage. If both partners are healthy, but there is no pregnancy, the reasons may lie in their physical incompatibility. Modern medicine has developed effective methods infertility treatment. Consider their basic principles.

Treatment of female infertility

An examination is required to select the most appropriate therapy. Both partners pass it. A woman is examined for infections, hormonal and immunological disorders, for obstruction of the fallopian tubes, endometrium, biopsy, and reproductive organs are also examined. There are surgical and conservative methods of infertility treatment.

Laparoscopy

Laparoscopy method

Fallopian tube dysfunction is a fairly common cause of the disease. Adhesions that block the channel through which the egg must pass are often formed due to past infections, inflammations, and abortions.

Laparoscopy is an operative method. Infertility is treated by removing adhesions during surgery. Several small holes are made in the patient's abdomen. One of them is injected with gas to improve visibility for doctors. A laparoscope is inserted into another hole with a camera displaying an image on the monitor. In the third, a manipulator is introduced to move the organs away and perform other actions.

Usually, during laparoscopy, a biopsy is performed in parallel: material is taken for further research and to identify the cause of the disease. After the operation, the doctor prescribes women to drink hormonal drugs, as well as antibiotics, if there are inflammations, and prescribes to plan a pregnancy with the support of a stable hormonal background.

Robotic system

Another surgical method for treating infertility caused by disorders in the fallopian tubes is the da Vinci robot. This is an innovative and promising method of surgery. The robot has four arms. The developers have equipped one hand with a camera, the other three are holding tools. Using the control unit, the surgeon controls the robot and controls it. If the doctor's hands may tremble or make a sudden movement during the operation, robot manipulation eliminates such risks.

Surgical robot "Da Vinci"

The following advantages of surgical intervention using the da Vinci system are distinguished:

  • the postoperative period is shorter and less painful;
  • minimal risk of bleeding;
  • easier access for the surgeon to hard-to-reach places;
  • carrying out the operation through small incisions;
  • the development of infectious complications after surgery is unlikely;
  • there is no unexpected tissue injury due to the high precision with which the robot operates.

ECO

in vitro fertilization

If a woman is missing one or both fallopian tubes, if they are removed after ectopic pregnancy and for other reasons, in vitro fertilization may be the solution. This artificial method fertilization, its principles are as follows:

  • Doctors prescribe medications that stimulate ovulation and egg growth. These eggs are released through the vagina and fertilized in a test tube using partner or donor sperm. Then, the early development of the embryo is monitored in the laboratory.
  • After a few days, the embryos are transferred to the uterus with the help of a catheter, and the woman takes drugs that promote the engraftment of the embryos. A few hours after the operation, the patient is forbidden to get up. An analysis for hCG determines the onset or absence of pregnancy.

The procedure is contraindicated in case of malformations or deformities of the uterine cavity, ovarian tumors, inflammatory diseases, malignant neoplasms. mental illness, in which it is impossible to bear a child and give birth, will also be an obstacle to IVF.

Disturbed endocrinology

The causes of infertility are often associated with an imbalance in the work of hormones. In this case, there is a violation of the maturation of the egg and the process of ovulation. In addition to endocrine diseases ( diabetes, dysfunction of the thyroid gland and polycystic) the imbalance can be influenced by the unfavorable psychological state of the woman, infections, benign tumors in the ovaries. The doctor orders blood tests to determine hormone levels. Abnormalities in the organs can be recognized by ultrasound of the small pelvis.

If a patient with endocrine infertility is obese, the doctor prescribes a low-calorie diet and exercise. Some women are able to conceive after correction of excess body weight. If pregnancy does not occur, the doctor may prescribe treatment with hormonal drugs, the principle of which is aimed at normalizing the endocrine system. It also corrects dysfunctions of the thyroid gland and adrenal glands. Infertility is treated conservatively with hormone therapy and to stimulate ovulation.

Treatment for inflammation

Conservative infertility treatment

Inflammation of the reproductive organs is a common cause of infertility. The infection can affect the urethra, vulva, uterus, tubes, and ovaries. If acute inflammations have not been fully treated, they will become chronic and can cause infertility.

To determine the causative agent of the disease, the gynecologist takes swabs (sowing on the flora, PCR diagnostics), prescribes general tests. Antibiotics are prescribed by a doctor based on a specific pathogen. If the cause is a virus, then the patient is prescribed drugs with an antiviral principle of action, immunity-supporting drugs and vitamins. Usually the partner is also assigned a course.

With immune infertility

Cervical mucus is a defense against vaginal microflora. But with immune pathology, antibodies appear in the mucus that prevent the penetration of spermatozoa into the fallopian tubes.

Then use the methods of infertility treatment:

  • AISM (artificial insemination with husband's sperm)
  • IISD (artificial insemination with donor sperm)

artificial insemination

The principles of these methods are characterized by the introduction of sperm directly into the uterus, which avoids the barrier in the cervix.
Intrauterine insemination increases the chances of conception. It's a painless way artificial insemination. The sperm of the spouse is carefully prepared, the most active spermatozoa are isolated, the sperm is given a state that allows it to be injected immediately into the uterus. Thanks to this method, the spermatozoon does not linger in the cervical mucus, and the processing of the sperm improves its quality. Insemination should not be performed if the patient feels unwell, in an unfavorable emotional state, overworked, she has a runny nose, headaches.
The patency of the fallopian tubes - necessary condition for insemination, since fertilization occurs in the uterine tube. A woman should not have abnormalities in the uterine cavity. Curettage, abortion, inflammation of the uterine mucosa, the spiral can become an obstacle to insemination.

Treatment of male infertility

Methods of infertility treatment in men are somewhat different from the treatment of female infertility. Infertility in men is treated a little longer and more difficult, because due to the specifics male body not all medicines and methods can be applied.

Before prescribing treatment, the doctor will find out if diseases and injuries have been transferred, prescribe ultrasound, tests, spermogram and other studies to determine if there are hormonal disorders, sluggish inflammation in the urethra and prostate. Also, the doctor will examine the external genitalia, palpation of the scrotum, rectal examination. Based on the results, prescribe therapy.

An effective therapy for getting rid of hormonal failure is the use of hormonal drugs. Tamoxifen increases testosterone levels. Vitamins are usually prescribed to improve spermogram. If there are defects in the urethra and its structure after an injury, the problem is solved surgically, which restores the patency of the vas deferens. Varicocele is also treated with surgery.

If a man has chronic infections of the genitourinary system, which cause inflammation and changes in spermatozoa, leading to infertility, antibiotic therapy is performed.

Treatment of the immunological factor of infertility in men

Men can also have immune infertility. The reasons for this pathology are the production of antisperm antibodies by the body that destroy their own spermatozoa. This pathology can develop due to obstruction of the vas deferens, testicular injury, varicocele, infections, as well as a hereditary factor. The treatment of infertility caused by an immunological factor provides for an integrated approach. The following principles and methods of treatment of immunological infertility are possible:

  • surgical intervention in order to restore the patency of the vas deferens, eliminate disturbances in the blood flow;
  • drug treatment against infections, prostatitis and other inflammatory processes;
  • physiotherapy to eliminate antisperm antibodies from viable spermatozoa.

Together with a man, his wife must also undergo diagnostics. Immune infertility is possible in both partners at once. Often, therapy is ineffective. Then are used.

Assisted fertilization methods

IVF and ICSI are also recommended for a decrease in the number of spermatozoa or a violation of their mobility. Their use significantly increases the chances of obtaining a viable embryo. This technology will allow men to no longer turn to donor sperm.

The specialist selects the most complete sperm under magnification

special system. To save the sperm from damage, it is placed in a solution. After the embryologist destroys the membrane of the tail of the cell, and it is absorbed into the microneedle, which is then injected into the egg. To create an embryo, at least one mobile and viable sperm must be isolated.

If a specific disease has not been found, a man should improve the quality of nutrition, take multivitamins, maintain a normal weight, play sports (but avoid excessive exercise), give up alcohol, smoking and various drugs.

We can cure infertility. A couple who wants to conceive needs a full examination. Timely treatment allows you to have children in half of the cases. But for positive result you should gain strength, patience and follow all the instructions of specialists.

Female infertility is a disease in which a woman who has reached puberty is unable to conceive, which manifests itself in the absence of pregnancy for more than a year with unprotected regular sex.

Attention! If for a long time it is not possible to get pregnant, it is worth checking the reproductive system of a man. Female infertility associated with a male factor is determined if the woman is healthy, and the man has a sharp decrease in the fertilizing ability of sperm. That is why a doctor's consultation is necessary for both partners.

Kinds

Depending on the curability, female infertility is divided into two types:

  • absolute (incurable);
  • relative (may be subject to correction).

According to the nature of the disease, there are:

  • primary female infertility (the woman has never been pregnant);
  • secondary female infertility (a woman has lost the ability to have children).

Depending on the reasons, allocate different forms female infertility:

  • immunological;
  • pipe;
  • endocrine;
  • uterine;
  • polycystic;
  • endometriosis;
  • genetic;
  • psychological.

Causes

There are many causes of the disease, and each form of infertility is different.

The immunological form of the disease suggests the presence of antisperm immunity, which prevents the fertilization of the egg and the implantation of the embryo. The causes, as a rule, are defects or infections of the genital tract, congenital or acquired.

The causes of female infertility of tubal origin can be deviations in the pelvic organs of two types: functional or organic.

Functional disorders are changes in tone, coordination of contractions of the fibers of the tube wall, a decrease in the mobility of the cilia of the epithelial layer, and inadequate reproduction of mucus. This is due to active inflammatory processes and hormonal imbalance.

Organic tubal infertility is an obstruction of the fallopian tubes. It can occur as a result of inflammation, surgery, invasive procedures (abortion, curettage, etc.), trauma, sterilization, the appearance of a tumor or neoplasm in the pelvis.

The endocrine form of the disease manifests itself in the failure of the functioning of the ovaries, thyroid gland, adrenal glands or endocrine glands in the brain. The causes are insensitive ovary syndrome, impaired functioning, premature menopause, exposure to medicines on the ovaries, dysfunction of the hypothalamus (brain) or pituitary (endocrine glands), hormonal imbalance of the thyroid gland or congenital adrenal hyperplasia.

Uterine infertility is caused by congenital or acquired pathologies of the uterus. The causes are changes inside the uterus (most often benign formations), endometriosis (growth of the tissue of the mucous membrane of the uterus outside its inner layer), intrauterine infection, uterine malformations, foreign bodies of the uterus, obstruction of the cervical canal or changes in the composition of the mucus.

Polycystic - the formation of many small cysts in the ovaries. The causes of the disease can be hereditary, hormonal, viral or psychological.

Endometriosis is a disease in which the lining of the uterus is located outside its cavity. The reasons can be hormonal, immunological or mechanical (various kinds of trauma).

The genetic form of the disease is activated either at birth or due to factors such as smoking, the use of certain drugs, ionizing radiation, etc.

The psychological form of the disease is associated with stress, depression. Usually the reasons lie in the subconscious unwillingness or fear of having children.

Symptoms

You can suspect the disease if for a year or more a woman has a regular unprotected sex life, but pregnancy does not occur.

There is no well-established range of symptoms of female infertility by which one can independently recognize the disease in short time. But there are factors that require consultation with a doctor. These include:
  • lack of ovulation;
  • heavy painful periods;
  • discomfort in the pelvic area;
  • excessive unusual vaginal discharge;
  • the presence of infertility in the family;
  • a sharp decrease or increase in weight;
  • excessive hairline;
  • masculine body build;
  • multiple acne.

According to statistics, female infertility associated with the absence of ovulation is the most frequent occasion. Usually the reason is that the ovaries do not produce healthy follicles in which the egg should mature.

Diagnostics

Diagnosis of female infertility consists of several stages. To begin with, information is revealed that directly affects the diagnosis:

  • symptoms ( general state, the time of absence of pregnancy, the process of menstruation, etc.);
  • genetic predisposition to the disease;
  • medical history (causes of infertility are often previously transferred diseases);
  • the nature of sexual life;
  • history of previous pregnancies.

Visually, the doctor establishes:

  • body composition features;
  • general condition of the skin and mucous membranes;
  • general condition of the hairline;
  • nature of the mammary glands.

External deviations from the norm may indicate hormonal imbalance, disorders in the thyroid gland, etc., which may indirectly indicate infertility.

To clarify the diagnosis, the following tests and procedures may be needed:

  • blood and urine tests for hormones;
  • ultrasonography;
  • colposcopy;
  • diagnostic curettage of the uterine cavity;
  • X-ray of the lungs, tests for tuberculosis;
  • radiography of the uterus and fallopian tubes;
  • skull x-ray.

Of the surgical methods of examination, the most commonly used:

  • hysteroscopy;
  • laparoscopy.

The probability of determining the disease using modern methods reaches almost 100%.

Treatment

Depending on the form of female infertility, the necessary clinical guidelines and an individual course of treatment is prescribed. It can be done medically or surgically.

The drug method is applicable to the endocrine form of the disease. It is used to correct hormonal imbalances. For this, it is recommended medicines containing clomiphene citrate (causes ovulation), urinary gonadotropins (stimulate the ovaries) and recombinant gonadotropins (promote the growth of eggs). Antibiotics are also used if infertility is due to an inflammatory disease.

Surgical methods - laparoscopy and hysteroscopy - are used not only for diagnosis, but also for treatment.

During hysteroscopy, the uterine cavity is examined with a special optical instrument that is inserted into the uterus. If necessary, an operation is immediately performed to eliminate intrauterine pathologies.

Laparoscopy is an examination of the pelvic organs with a special optical instrument, which is inserted through a puncture into abdominal cavity. Also, during the procedure, the identified pathology is eliminated.

The psychological form of infertility is treated through consultation with the appropriate specialist.

If no treatment helps, the woman still has a chance to have children. Modern medicine offers a number of reproductive technologies:

  1. In vitro fertilization (IVF) - in the laboratory, the eggs are fertilized in vitro with male sperm and then transferred to the female uterus.
  2. Intrauterine insemination is the transfer of male spermatozoa into the uterus with a special instrument - a catheter.
  3. Egg donation (if there are abnormalities in the eggs of the intended mother).
  4. Surrogate motherhood - an egg fertilized by the sperm of a man is placed in the uterus of a surrogate mother, where the embryo develops.

Prevention

  • observe the rules of hygiene during sexual intercourse;
  • eat healthy food;
  • minimize the consumption of alcoholic beverages;
  • avoid stressful situations.

Important! Female infertility is a common disease. It is easy to increase the risk of infertility, but it can be difficult and sometimes impossible to cure the disease. It should be remembered that the chances of a positive outcome of treatment are higher if you contact a specialist in time and strictly adhere to his recommendations.
