Well, friends, you have your own own house. The question immediately arises - in what style to equip this very house? There are many of these styles now. This is a Swiss chalet, Russian folk hut, Gothic style, Art Nouveau style, East style... and much, much, much!

Home improvement in the style of an American ranch

We offer you to equip your favorite home in American ranch style. This style appeared, as you know, in America. Sometimes this style is divided into subspecies - California ranch and American ranch. This style was very popular in the middle of the twentieth century. Ranch-style houses were built in different regions world - Europe and Australia. But Australia also has its own style, similar to the American one. The style of the American ranch is a true "American product".

Experts believe that he "grew" from Spanish colonial style. Indeed, you can find a lot of similarities between these two styles. The houses of these styles are not symmetrical in plan and are built from cheap local materials. Such houses were built from improvised materials. Everything went into the business - bricks, stones, boards, etc. The most important thing is low cost and quick results. Also from the Spanish style came the large opening of the veranda.

The popularity of the ranch style peaked in the 20th century, when the economic boom began. Houses of this style are still considered economy class. In America, houses of one-story buildings are still built and are being built in this style. This style is similar to the farmhouse style. Such houses are often found in the Baltics, although farm-style houses are more symmetrical.

American ranch style interior

This style began to develop in California. The architects of this particular state designed it, combining the Spanish rural colonial style and the modern, at that time, American style. As a result of this, a style appeared - Western ranch or American ranch.

The interior in this style can be very bright, colored, with a lot of "rags in a flower", ruffles, frills and pads. And simple - masculine and cowboy. In both cases, the style of the ranch is comfort and naturalness. Thanks to all this, the ranch style does not lose popularity. For home improvement, forged accessories and skins are widely used. Characteristics The ranch style is shown through materials - the emphasis is on the abundance of tinted wood in an emphatically rough finish, without carving. The floors in the rooms are laid out ceramic tiles under the stone.

In general, this style is economical, which is very important, especially during the financial crisis. You can not spend money on expensive Construction Materials. Much can be done by hand.

If we talk about an American ranch-style setting, then it will suit very well. wooden furniture or wicker wicker furniture. Antique furniture will also fit in very harmoniously. It can be a chest or a rocking chair. All items in this style should be simple and practical. Can be placed on shelves earthenware, it is possible with an ornament. There will also be woven paths self made and round rugs.

American ranch style limits the use of materials such as plastic and glass. Preference is given natural materials."Be close to nature!" - this is the main motto of this style.

Fresh flowers, wicker baskets and chests, unusual tree branches will look very harmonious.

Ranch-style accommodation preferred arrange in one color scheme- blue, beige, yellowish, with various shades. For blue wallpapers, for example, it is good to choose carpets in blue-gray tones, rugs in dark blue, and furniture should be white.

The fireplace is an integral part of the American ranch style. Of course, it is desirable that it be real. But if there is no possibility, then an artificial one is also suitable, just try to make it as realistic as possible. Good for finishing a mantelpiece fake diamond And natural wood. But you need to remember that this style is warm and homely, so the use of the stone must be very strictly dosed. You can create a relaxation area around the fireplace - place a sofa, an armchair, a small table with a tea set.

Cozy house in the style of an American ranch - photo

When choosing accessories, you should pay attention to any items of rural life. For example, a cowboy hat will look very good.

Also in the style of the American ranch, great importance is attached to lighting a house or apartment. The house should have a large number of large windows for the influx of natural light. When designing windows, it is worth abandoning complex draperies. They are replaced by the pattern and texture of the fabric. It is suggested to use simple curtains with a minimum number of folds. Artificial lighting is provided by luminaires, both hidden and obvious. For evening lighting, you need to select lamps with soft, diffused light, reminiscent of daylight.

The most acceptable area for an American ranch style is 60 sq.m., which include two bedrooms, a hall and a kitchen. Of course, options with a larger area are also possible. It all depends on your desires and financial capabilities. The main thing is not to lose a sense of proportion and style. Hold on, friends! We hope that our advice will help you with this.

Interior Design country house in country style is one of the many housing design options that will always remain relevant. Sterile minimalism, space hi-tech, mysterious Scandinavian or oriental looks are styles that in some cases can lose out to more classic options. But any image will be quite modern if the process of its formation is approached with soul and love. This Vancouver country house is a perfect example of this.

BEFORE

60 years is a long time for a house that has never been reconstructed and has not undergone major repairs. This is clearly visible in the photo: plywood sheets, sheet pile panels and everything wall decoration look deplorable.

Some of the walls are damp, while others are clearly visible mechanical damage. In general, the ranch looked more like an old garage than an apartment building. It seemed as if time had stopped here in the middle of the last century!

However, the designers wanted to preserve the original elements of construction and decoration as much as possible, restoring them and preserving the unique atmosphere of the Wild West.

AFTER

Fireplace in the interior of the room plays a key role. The unusual geometry of the first floor simply captivated the craftsmen, who more often came across regular-shaped rooms - square, rectangular and even round.

The architects removed unnecessary partitions from the living room - this made the room more spacious. Another major change in the interior was large window decoration- more precisely, the windows that adorn every wall of this original room. Thus, the owners of the house received not only a spacious and bright living room, but also the opportunity to admire the magnificent landscape around.

The wooden structure of the ceiling - to the left of the fireplace - was decided to be left and slightly updated. This element performs not only a decorative function, but also hides some of the shortcomings of the elaborate layout.

The light tones of wood emphasize the illumination and dimensions of the room, freed from unnecessary walls. This is especially noticeable against the background of contrasting dark shades.

BEFORE

Upholstery corner sofa once harmonized very well with the texture of a brick wall. However, over time, the fabric faded, and the bright original image faded. After the reconstruction, the sofa remained in its place, but received a new upholstery made of light-colored textiles.

AFTER

Openwork Brick wall remained intact, but on its back, the designers placed a screen of smoky green glass. This decision made it possible to give the interior mystery and depth. The source of this effect was the emerald highlights and mysterious shadows that appeared thanks to the glass.

The heated floor, installed in the 50s of the last century and no longer functioning, was decided not to be removed. Instead, a new coating was poured right on top of it, equipped modern elements heating. Yes, the room lost a few centimeters in height, but this made it possible to avoid long and routine work, which, by the way, would have cost the new owners a lot of money.

All beams and rafters are made of spruce, and the ceiling boards are made of cedar. This combination gives not only the necessary reliability, but also a special color combination in the interior creating an atmosphere of comfort and coziness.

The second floor has also undergone modernization, as a result of which additional windows appeared there, opening a view of the forest around the house and visually increasing the height of the ceilings.

Original decor and interior items, like this unusual sconce, demonstrate a design concept that is based on the combination of classic american style and fresh creativity.

The bookcase, installed by the very first owners of the house, had to be not only restored, but also slightly changed due to the fact that the floor level was raised. The power of time and good quality emanates from the old rack, which is transmitted to the entire interior, creating a special comfort in the house.

BEFORE

The kitchen originally had a look that fully corresponded to the spirit of that time. Completely closed from human eyes, "hidden" in wood paneling, she could cause an attack of claustrophobia.

Despite some advantages - solid finishes and a through passage connecting several rooms - this part of the house did not escape the work aimed at its complete modernization.

AFTER

Kitchen with fireplace, designed in the style of the general concept of the new design of the house, looks simply incredible. The spacious room with original kitchen island, quartz worktops, walnut hanging drawers and new equipment is pleasing to the eye and conducive to any, even the most daring culinary experiments. In such a kitchen, you want to create and surprise!

From the “old-style” kitchen, only the original frying pans, pots and pans came in handy. Everything else has undergone drastic changes.

Transparent window installed instead kitchen apron directly above the work surface, brings in sunlight and good mood. A with reverse side windows, that is, from the outside of the house, the craftsmen equipped a kind of bar counter, which turned this part of the kitchen into a summer corner for breakfast or dinner.
