Gas floor boiler rating. Ratings of manufacturers of gas boilers. Power factors for different regions of Russia

Are you going to buy an efficient gas boiler that can provide heat in the most severe frosts? There are many factors to consider when choosing equipment for your home. What is the best option? What are the most important criteria? Owners of both private houses and apartments have to think about solving this problem.

Agree, it’s a shame to pay twice and end up with an insufficiently functional boiler that can’t heat Vacation home with the onset of cold weather. Therefore, before choosing a gas boiler in a store, you will have to weigh the pros and cons. Otherwise, you can take a far from suitable model.

We will help you determine the main criteria that dramatically affect the choice. Helpful Tips And important nuances outlined in our article. Photo materials and a selection of videos with advice from experienced experts in the field of heat supply are provided to help the homeowner.

The absence or constant interruptions of centralized heating and hot water supply are forcing the owners of cottages and city apartments to create.

Their main element is a boiler, which, by burning fuel, heats the coolant for the heating system and water for domestic needs.

Choice in favor gas equipment due to the economical use of gas as a fuel. All other options for combustible fuel are more expensive or give less heat at times.

Plus, modern heaters of this type do not require constant supervision. I connected the unit to the main pipe or cylinder, and it works smoothly as long as there is something to burn.

The use of natural gas is the optimal solution for heating a private house in terms of fuel costs and operating costs.

However, in order for the gas boiler to function properly and in optimal mode, you must correctly select it when buying and regularly service after connecting.

There are many different in functionality and special modules within the models of this equipment. The purchase of a gas heating unit should be approached thoughtfully.

Selection criteria gas boiler There are many, but the main ones are:

  1. The power output by the device.
  2. Layout solution (number of circuits, body type and heat exchanger material).
  3. Place for installation.
  4. Availability of automation for safe operation.

All these questions are closely related. The lack of space for a large unit or the desire to mount a device with an aesthetic appearance in the kitchen forces you to choose a wall-mounted model of less power than the floor version. And the need to heat hot water for the washbasin and shower makes you look for a boiler with two circuits.

When choosing a heater, you should remember about the need to repair it, if there is no workshop for servicing the selected model nearby, then you should look for another option

The subtleties of choosing a boiler for heating and hot water

Modern heating equipment has a stylish appearance, filled with all sorts of sensors and can operate in several modes.

Each gas boiler has a burner inside the body and a combustion chamber with a heat exchanger, but there are also models with a circulation pump and other modules

First, the gas in the burner is ignited using an electronic system or a piezoelectric element. Then, as a result of its combustion in the furnace, water is heated by means of a heat exchanger, which is sent to the heating system circuit.

This is how classic single-loop models work. To prepare domestic hot water, you must select or connect a boiler.

The choice of a boiler for a heating system is an important and responsible procedure that determines the microclimate at home for the coming years.

Mistakes in such a case are unacceptable, but most users do not have sufficient knowledge on this topic.

We need to be clear enough design features gas boilers, be able to determine the most successful parameters and a set of functions.

Sales assistants often try to sell stock and give misleading information, so it's helpful to have some margin of knowledge about the most important aspects.

Consider one of the most efficient and popular groups of heating gas boilers - floor models

The basic function of any boiler is heating the coolant (RH) for the heating circuit. All models have it, regardless of what additional features they have..

There are units designed only for the preparation of the coolant. These are single-circuit boilers that perform a single, main task. In addition, there are double-circuit boilers capable of simultaneously heating the OM to cook hot water for household needs.

They are equipped with an additional heat exchanger, which uses part of the excess heat energy of the coolant.

These units are called double-circuit. They allow you to get the maximum set of functions, but have some performance limitations on the DHW circuit.

Heating occurs in flow mode, so it is not yet possible to achieve a uniform and stable temperature.

NOTE!

Single-circuit boilers can be connected to external storage boilers. This will require some expenses, but as a result it makes it possible to obtain a stable and even DHW.

Advantages and disadvantages

The advantages of floor boilers include:

  • no restrictions on the power of the unit;
  • strength, reliability of all components and parts;
  • ease of installation;
  • stability of work, the ability to maintain a given mode regardless of external conditions;
  • lack of unnecessary additions;
  • powerful models can be connected in a cascade of up to 4 units, forming high-performance thermal units.

The disadvantages of floor structures are considered:

  • large weight, size;
  • the need to divert a separate room;
  • for atmospheric models, connection to a common house chimney is required

In addition to a separate room, for floor-standing boilers, it is necessary to ensure the possibility of connecting to a vertical chimney or leading a horizontal pipe through the wall.

Convection or condensation?

The traditional way of heat transfer of a gas boiler is to heat the coolant in flow mode. It passes through the heat exchanger, and the gas burner heats the liquid according to the specified operating mode.

This type of boiler is called convection. Relatively recently appeared new design units - condensing. It uses preheating of the coolant from the heat released during the condensation of the exhausted smoke.

The temperature of the liquid rises by a small amount, but this is enough to make it possible to reduce the heating mode of the main heat exchanger.

The result is a positive effect:

  • fuel consumption is reduced;
  • increases the service life of the boiler.

With properly organized operation of the unit, fuel savings reach 20%. However, there are some specific conditions that sharply limit the scope of condensing boilers.

The reason is that the condensation process can only take place when the temperature of the walls of the condensation chamber is higher than the return flow temperature. This is only possible on underfloor heating systems or radiator circuits with a low heat output.

It is estimated that the operation of the first stage is possible only if the difference between the outside and inside of the house is no more than 20 °. For Russia, such a ratio is simply unrealistic. If condensation is not possible, the boiler operates as a conventional convection model.

Given the almost twofold difference in prices, the expediency of such an expensive purchase with dubious effectiveness should be weighed.

What is the difference between non-volatile and conventional boilers?

Conventional (volatile) boilers need a power supply, without which they cannot work. turbofan, circulation pump, the electronic control board needs to supply high-quality and stable power.

Particularly capricious are the control boards, which immediately fail when the current parameters change. Manufacturers claim the ability to withstand strong voltage fluctuations, but in practice this is not observed.

At the same time, volatile units have a set of additional features - they can be controlled remotely, integrated into a smart home system, and programmed for some time in advance.

Non-volatile boilers do not have all these additions. They work exclusively with the help of mechanical components and parts, like a conventional gas stove.

The design of such units is devoid of all unnecessary components, it is functional and therefore very reliable. In addition, owners of non-volatile boilers are not threatened with a sudden power outage without heating.

Dilapidated and congested networks are typical for remote villages, so the use of independent heating systems is very valuable for many users.

Types of heat exchanger materials - what to choose?

The heat exchanger is the main unit of the gas boiler. The coolant is heated in it, so the parameters and design of this unit are of great importance.

Used for manufacturing:

  • stainless steel. This is a budget option, although the parameters of steel heat exchangers allow you to get quite effective results. Typically, such nodes are installed on inexpensive medium-sized boilers;
  • copper tube (coil). This option is used on expensive models of gas boilers. Copper has a high heat transfer coefficient, so the effect of using such heat exchangers is very high;
  • cast iron. It is resistant to mechanical and thermal loads. For the manufacture of heat exchangers, gray ductile metal is used, resistant to drops or different values fluid temperature at individual points. Massive knots help to even out the degree of heating and soften sudden temperature changes.

Copper heat exchangers are considered the most preferable, but steel and cast iron assemblies are quite efficient and can provide high-quality heating of the OB.

Types of boilers by type of smoke removal and which one is better?

There are two options for the output of combustion products:

  • atmospheric. This is the traditional way to remove flue gases using natural furnace draft. The technique is well studied, but it is characterized by instability and strong dependence on external conditions. Most often used on non-volatile models;
  • with a turbofan. The combustion chamber of such boilers is isolated from the outside atmosphere, so the combustion process and the removal of smoke are provided by a turbocharging fan. He submits Fresh air, supporting the flame and displacing smoke into a specially designed chimney (coaxial).

Turbocharged boilers are considered more convenient designs for residential use - there is no smell of smoke, oxygen does not burn out, the unit is completely safe.

However, such boilers need to be connected to the power supply network.

The choice of coolant

Usually two options are used:

  • water. Experts recommend pouring distilled water if the volume of the system allows it. This method avoids the formation of lime deposits, but from freezing pipes in winter time he will not protect;
  • ethylene glycol (antifreeze). It is a liquid that does not freeze when circulation stops. Contains a set of anti-corrosion additives, does not form scale, does not have a destructive effect on polymers, rubber, plastic.

For systems that need to be drained frequently, water is the best and most economical choice. The use of antifreeze is recommended for heating circuits operating in difficult conditions.

Types of boiler ignition methods and which method is the most optimal?

There are three ignition options:

  • electronic. The burner is ignited at the touch of a button using a special unit. This option is present on all models of volatile boilers;
  • piezoelectric. The principle of operation of such a system is similar to all piezo devices - for a spark to appear, you need to press on a special crystal. Used on non-volatile boilers. Many users find this type of ignition inconvenient;
  • manual. The flame is ignited with an ordinary lit match (torch). For ignition, it is necessary to have some supply of such elongated wooden sticks.

Most users unanimously prefer the electronic type of ignition, but it is not possible on non-volatile units. You have to get used to using a piezoelectric element or setting fire to the burner with a burning torch.

Types by type of combustion chamber

There are two types of combustion chambers:

  • atmospheric (open). They work on the traditional principle - air is taken directly from the surrounding atmosphere, and smoke is removed using natural draft. For the operation of such boilers, appropriate conditions are needed, so they are not in great demand. However, atmospheric units are capable of operating in a non-volatile mode;
  • turbocharged (closed). The fully sealed design requires an air supply, which is done by a turbofan. This method allows you to control the mode of combustion and the output of combustion products. It is considered the most convenient and safe.

The choice of the combustion chamber is determined by the design of the boiler - all non-volatile models are atmospheric, and dependent units can be both open and closed.

Turbocharged vehicles are preferred.

Customer Reviews

Consider user opinions:

Your opinion

Selecting the best heating units among the widest range of models from different brands is not an easy task. Since there are no official sales statistics either, we offer the only correct approach: to rank gas boilers based on the reviews of homeowners who personally checked the reliability and quality of products in operation. Laudatory responses, written to order, were mercilessly screened out.

Popular wall units

So, in our field of vision were the following brands of wall-mounted heat generators that burn natural gas (or liquefied propane-butane mixture):

  • Navien Deluxe 13k;
  • Protherm Lynx 24;
  • Neva Lux 7218;
  • Ariston EGIS 24FF;
  • Ferroli DOMIproject C 24.

It cannot be said that the gas boilers- the best among all, but they are the most discussed. That is, users most often choose these units for heating private houses and apartments. Information about their operation is the most complete and reliable.

Note. The models of heaters presented in the list are because they are more popular. This fact does not affect the rating of wall-mounted boilers, because manufacturers also offer single-circuit analogues of models.

Navien Deluxe 13k Turbo

The Korean-made household heating unit has thermal power 13 kW and is equipped with a domestic hot water preparation circuit (DHW). Heating is implemented in a bithermic counterflow heat exchanger made of stainless steel. The combustion chamber is of a closed type, respectively, the boiler is turbocharged (equipped with a fan - supercharger).

For reference. The bithermic heat exchanger is a “tube in a tube” design and provides for the simultaneous heating of a heat carrier for heating a house and hot water with a gas burner. Two fluid streams flow towards each other, and the coolant moves along the outer tube.

On the left is a modern device of the Deluxe model, on the right is its predecessor Ace

The double-circuit gas heat generator of the Korean brand "Navien" is considered a high-tech device and boasts an average price (415 USD or 24 thousand rubles as of 2017). The device is traditionally equipped with an expansion tank of 8 liters and a circulation pump. Briefly about the technical characteristics:

  • declared efficiency (efficiency) - 91%;
  • the output volume of hot water when heated to 25 °C is 12.4 l/min;
  • maximum temperature at the heating outlet - 80 °C;
  • heated area - about 130 m²;
  • flue gas temperature 120-140 °С.

The boiler is adapted to the conditions of the CIS countries and is able to operate with voltage drops and gas pressure reduced to 0.025 bar in the line. The unit is endowed with a mass of convenient functions - a remote control panel, frost protection mode, and so on.

Now let's add a couple of versatile reviews about this model of a hinged gas boiler:

  1. Anna, Samara, duration of operation - 4 years. The heater came with the purchased apartment, so there was no need to install new equipment. One gripe - noisy work, it would be necessary to hide it in a closet. The water heats up quickly, the heating is quite sufficient. Every year, craftsmen come and clean, they say - it's good that there are aluminum radiators in the house. With cast iron, the boiler would have to be serviced more often.
  2. Nikolai, Ufa, the age of the unit is 3 years. The only plus is the low cost, the product cannot boast of quality and reliability. Heated with "Navien" a private house, used antifreeze as a coolant. Repeatedly repaired - then the board burned out, then the heat exchanger dripped. I do not recommend, I replaced it with Protherm.

Scheme of a wall-mounted heater with a bithermic heat exchanger and pressurization into a closed combustion chamber

Conclusion: An inexpensive boiler called Navien 13k is a good multifunctional device of medium quality. The number of real positive reviews about it is half diluted with complaints about various breakdowns. If you live far from cities and service centers, it is better to choose a reliable unit from another company, albeit more expensive.

Protherm Lynx 24 "Lynx" with a power of 24 kW

Further, we will not torment the reader with technical details, since manufacturers of wall-mounted boilers are constantly improving products and endowing them with approximately the same set of functions. We highlight only the main parameters and differences between the units.

The product from the Slovak brand Protherm is the best gas boiler in its price category (cost - about 570 USD) in terms of quality and reliability. Water heating is carried out in a separate plate heat exchanger, and the list of functions compared to the Naviens is somewhat wider. The unit is a home mini-boiler room with closed camera combustion developed by German engineers.

Important information. Currently (Autumn 2017) Russian Federation only the "Lynx" of the condensation version is offered, which costs about 56 thousand rubles. (970 c.u.). The closest analogues are "Panther" 2015 25 KTV and "Jaguar" 24 JTV. The price of the latter is 36 thousand rubles.

The advantages of the heat generator, proven over the years of operation, can be listed from morning to night:

  • high quality and reliability of the product;
  • relatively compact dimensions;
  • adaptation to post-Soviet working conditions;
  • simplicity and convenience of management, attractive design.

Of the minuses of the device, users note the sensitivity of electronics to voltage drops in the network. A sore point is the control board, which occasionally has to be changed. Probably, adaptation to our conditions was successful by 90-95%, since everything is in order with a minimum gas pressure - from 0.013 bar.

Scheme of operation of a wall-mounted boiler with a separate plate heat exchanger for hot water supply

The Protherm turbocharged boiler has collected a maximum of positive feedback:

  1. Dmitry, Ukraine, unit operation time - 3 years. I like the user-friendly control interface and the ejection of combustion products directly through the wall through a coaxial chimney. I'm not talking about things like heating and hot water - everything works flawlessly. The boiler is connected to the mains through a stabilizer.
  2. Maxim, Bashkortostan, RF. I have been operating the Lynx for 2 years, I have not found any shortcomings. I bought it when switching from central heating to individual, thanks to small sizes freely placed the heater in the kitchen. Having been warned in advance, I installed a voltage stabilizer.

Conclusion. Heating boilers brand Protherm are unambiguously recommended for use. If you maintain a minimum pressure in the heating system of 0.8 bar and gas supply - 13 mbar, then there will be no problems with operation.

Neva Lux 7218 (modern analogue - BaltGaz 18 Turbo)

The popularity of the Russian brand is based on two pillars: low cost + full adaptability to "native" operating conditions with voltage drops and main gas pressure. The price of an instance with a capacity of 18 kW is 470 USD. e. (27200 rubles) at the time of October 2017. You will not find more serious advantages over imported "brothers".

For reference. The double-circuit modification of the Neva Lux 7218 boiler, equipped with a closed chamber, has been discontinued. Instead, the plant offers new version BaltGaz 18 Turbo, which inherited most of the pros and cons of the previous one. In particular, minimum threshold gas pressure is only 0.006 bar or 6 mbar.

Now about the shortcomings of the turbocharged "Neva":

  • low level of reliability compared to European wall-mounted boilers;
  • breakdowns were noticed during long-term operation in summer mode (DHW only);
  • negligence of domestic assembly.

In fairness, it should be noted that BaltGaz products have many convenient functions and levels of protection against overheating and freezing. What homeowners say about a gas boiler:

  1. Vadim, Saratov, the age of the heat generator is 4 years. I found a Neva Lux heating unit in a rented apartment where I have been living for the third year. In autumn, a typical problem arose with starting the heating - the shaft of the circulation pump got stuck. The second moment: when heating water for hot water supply, the Neva boiler makes a lot of noise. Otherwise, there were no complaints, I operate without any stabilizers.
  2. Alexandra, Moscow, the service life of the heater is 3.5 years. Our “warm friend” worked for 3 years without the slightest complaint, and then broke. A week later, the master came, replaced the sensor, a month later the story repeated itself. Sitting in the middle of winter without heating is uncomfortable (to put it mildly), so I don’t recommend buying Neva boilers.

Conclusion. The BaltGaz gas thermal unit is characterized by the best price-quality ratio and is therefore popular. Knowing in advance about all the shortcomings of the product, you will not be very upset when you encounter them personally.

Ariston EGIS 24FF

This Italian gas boiler with a closed combustion chamber deserves a brief mention, since it differs little from the Slovak Protherm product, but loses to it in reliability and price. We list the positive characteristics of the heat generator:

  • the manufacturer declares an efficiency of 94% at a power of 24 kW;
  • in terms of the number of functions and options, the unit is not inferior to the leading German brands Viessmann and Buderus;
  • water heating in a bithermic heat exchanger.

The remaining qualities of the unit are rather ordinary: DHW capacity - 13 l / min (delta 25 ° C), capacity expansion tank– 8 liters, the circulation pump is equipped with an air vent. Probably, buyers were attracted by a successful advertising campaign and promotional offers, because the cost of the boiler goes beyond the average price category and amounts to 685 USD. e. (39,600 rubles).

We will let users voice the cons of the model:

  1. Sergey, Barnaul, date of purchase of the heat generator - 2010. In order for the boiler to work properly in Russian realities, I installed a water and gas filter at the inlet, connected a stabilizer. To avoid scale formation, the DHW heating temperature was set to 60 ° C. But after 3 years, the flame control sensor “turned off” - when the burner was running, the ignition turned on, then the unit went into error. Not very reliable electronics.
  2. Fedor, St. Petersburg, the age of the heater is 5 years. The Ariston FF hot water boiler served well for 2 years, then it began to crumble - then the flow sensor flew, then the pump stopped, then the ignition failed. You can’t find spare parts in the outback, it’s expensive to order.

Conclusion. If it were not for the decent cost of the heat generator and spare parts, then electronics problems can be reconciled. The heating qualities of the product do not cause any complaints, the boiler calmly heats the area of \u200b\u200b200 m² declared in the passport and supplies the required amount of hot water.

Ferroli DOMIproject C24 is no longer in production

The only atmospheric heater in our rating could have earned the honorary title of the most reliable wall-mounted gas boiler if it had not been discontinued. In 2017, its place was taken by the units of the new Diva and Arena line with the C24 index (open combustion chamber). Therefore, user reviews regarding the old model are irrelevant, although it received the maximum 5 stars, having proven itself from the best side.

A new line of Ferroli Arena mini-boilers

A new modification of the Ferroli Arena C24 costs about 520 USD. e. (29,900 rubles) and is not inferior in quality to its predecessor. Since the Italian brand "Ferolli" is famous for its reliability and high-quality assembly, it makes no sense to advertise it once again.

From previous brands of boilers "Arena" differs only in the open combustion chamber and the need to connect to the chimney. A significant plus was added to a wide range of functions - ease of management. ABOUT possible malfunctions devices of this company will tell in his video:

Overview of floor heat generators

Judging by the reviews, buyers prefer domestic floor-standing boilers that consume natural and liquefied gas. It is understandable: these units are much easier to maintain and cheaper. Often there is nothing in them, except for a cast-iron heat exchanger, a burner and a block of Italian EuroSit gas automation (as an option - American Honeywell).

  • "Lemax";
  • Siberia
  • Protherm;
  • "Zhytomyr";
  • Aton.

Note. In this case, we have included brand names in the list, since homeowners leave a lot of feedback about heat generators of different models made in the same factory. It's better to combine them.

Scheme of a floor gas heat generator with an open combustion chamber

The vast majority of stationary heat sources are not equipped with an expansion tank, pump and safety group. The listed equipment is installed separately. An exception is imported boiler plants, for example, Buderus, Viessmann or Protherm.

Boiler plants "Lemax"

This company is the leader in the number of reviews about floor standing boilers and most of them are positive. Under the Lemax brand, heating units with cast-iron and steel heat exchangers are produced, equipped with a POLIDORO step-type injection gas burner. Control and safety is provided by the EuroSit valve, the type of combustion chamber is atmospheric (open).

What are the advantages of floor-standing hot water boilers of this company:

  • simplicity and reliability;
  • ability to work in a gravity heating system;
  • energy independence;
  • long service life of devices with cast-iron heat exchangers;
  • the range of thermal power covered by the lines of units is from 7.5 to 100 kW;
  • low cost of equipment and spare parts.

For reference. The main strong point of any domestic heater is the simplicity and low cost of parts. In fact, the service life of the boiler plant is equal to the "life" of the cast-iron heat exchanger - it is not difficult to replace the burner and automation. The resource of steel aggregates is much less (15 years versus 30), but the price is also significantly lower.

What homeowners write about Lemax products:

  1. Boris, Republic of Belarus, Mogilev. I bought a KSG-16 gas boiler in 2007, since then I have only changed the igniter nozzle. I operate a pump / gravity flow with a combined heating system, because sometimes the electricity is cut off. Although I purchased the product from a lack of funds, now I do not regret it at all.
  2. Larisa, Kazakhstan, Almaty. I put a cheap Lemax boiler in a private house, although the neighbors dissuaded me and bought an imported one with electronics. Result: I have been heating for 3 winters without problems, and the neighbor is tired of calling for repairmen of complex equipment. I recommend it to my house or cottage.

Often, users do not indicate a typical minus of these boilers - relatively low fuel combustion efficiency (86-89% efficiency). The reason is simple: people compare the efficiency of new units with old ones and see an improvement. It is unlikely that someone will buy a wall and floor boiler for the sake of comparing performance.

Heating units Siberia

The cheapest model of all the products of the Rostov company, the Siberia 11 stationary gas heater (power 11.6 kW), received the maximum feedback. Let's give short description device:

  • combustion chamber - open, 1 circuit;
  • heat exchanger - steel;
  • burner - injection, Italian brand POLIDORO;
  • safety gas valve - EuroSit;
  • power supply is not required;
  • manual ignition from a piezoelectric element;
  • the line of units includes 12 products with a capacity of 11.6-35 kW.

For reference. The company produces 2 lines of floor gas boilers. The second includes 8 products of the KCHGO series, equipped with a cast-iron heat exchanger from the Czech company Viadrus. Power range - from 16 to 50 kW.

It is easy to notice the similarity of Siberia heat generators with the products of the previous Lemax brand. The products use identical automation and a gas burner, the difference is only in the form of heat exchangers and external design.

However, half of homeowners do not consider Siberia boilers to be the best and most reliable:

  1. Vladimir, Rostov. We bought and installed the device in 2008 in order to heat a private house with an area of 120 m². In severe frosts, additional heating is needed - the boiler power is not enough. Tortured to turn off the burner because of the draft sensor - then the wire does not contact, then the device itself is “buggy”. Turning on the main burner is accompanied by a loud pop, as if the gas is exploding.
  2. Yuriy, Zlatoust, heater service life - 2 years. Gas workers advised me to buy "Siberia", they say, it will cost inexpensively and the design is simple. There are no complaints about the boiler for heating, but the piezo ignition button failed repeatedly.

Conclusion. Siberia water heaters are of average quality. They attract buyers with their simplicity and low price. We recommend that you take a closer look at the boilers of the second line - an imported cast-iron heat exchanger is much more reliable than a steel one.

Stationary boilers Protherm "Bear"

The Slovak manufacturer offers 4 lines of underfloor heat generators of the Bear series: TLO, PLO, KLOM and KLZ. All units are equipped with cast iron heat exchangers and various systems ignition - manual and automatic (depending on the model). As in the case of wall-mounted gas boilers, Protherm outperforms competitors in reliability and quality, but loses in price.

What is the difference between "Bears" and the Russian heaters discussed above:

  • electrically independent series TLO and PLO are equipped with branch pipes for connecting an external storage boiler;
  • in all models it is possible to install a fan - a smoke exhauster;
  • devices are equipped with economical burners of stepped or modulating type;
  • volatile series KLOM and KLZ are automatically ignited, equipped with electronic and remote control, thermostats;
  • KLZ heat generators are equipped with their own boiler indirect heating with a capacity of 90 liters.

Note. All stationary boilers have an open combustion chamber, and the manufacturer claims the efficiency of heaters at 90%.

Let's move on to the reviews:

  1. Svetlana, Moscow, the duration of operation of the KLZ series unit is 2 years. House of 200 squares with a large panoramic windows the first floor "Bear" heats without problems (power 26 kW). For 2 seasons did not disappoint even once, no shortcomings were identified. True, a 90-liter boiler is not enough for our family, so we put an additional tank.
  2. Daniel, Togliatti. Boiler Protherm KLZ 40 kW has served me for more than 10 years. The only minus found is the insufficient volume of the internal boiler. And then there is nothing to write, I will begin to praise - my response will be taken for advertising. The failure was the only one - the failure of the electronic board after 8 years of operation. Thankfully, it was inexpensive.

Conclusion. The title of the best stationary boilers in terms of reliability can be safely assigned to products of the Proterm brand. The real drawback is the high price compared to Russian counterparts.

Aton and Zhitomir heaters

Products of Ukrainian manufacturers practically do not differ from Russian "brothers" from Siberia and Lemax brands, so we decided to combine them in one section. The design is identical: cast iron and steel heat exchangers with swirler inserts, POLIDORO burners and EuroSit automation.

Accordingly, Aton boilers have all the advantages and disadvantages of such water heating installations, the difference between them is only in the external design. The main characteristics of the units are simplicity and reliability, confirmed by many years of operation.

Comment. Firms Atem and Aton also offer parapet (wall-mounted) gas boilers with a capacity of 7.5-12 kW. Their strong point is a short coaxial pipe that goes outside through a wall and removes flue gases without a fan.

It is pointless to give feedback about these heat generators - they are similar to user impressions about Russian-made units. The main idea is this: these are budget boilers with a minimum set of functions, adapted to work without electricity. The absence of boards and other electronics gives its advantages - there is nothing to break in the unit.

Compiling ratings for various gas boilers is a thankless task. The range of heating equipment is too wide, and there are no general sales statistics. Lean on feedback from homeowners - The best way convey reliable information to the reader, which we did. Let's add some tips to it:

  1. The characteristic given by users of a particular model of the heat generator also applies to other products of the manufacturer. Indeed, at the plant they cannot assemble one line of boilers with high quality, and the second - poorly.
  2. Our rating is not the ultimate truth. When choosing a heating unit, listen to the opinions of people operating a particular heat source.
  3. It is not necessary to chase one of the models presented in the rating. Some of them are obsolete and out of production, instead, manufacturers offer updated versions that are probably better than the old ones.
  4. We did not mention the leading European and Asian brands for an obvious reason: the majority of homeowners are trying to purchase a boiler installation for affordable price as evidenced by the reviews.
  5. Which heat source to choose - floor or wall - read.

On the Internet, there are many positive opinions about other gas boilers, for example, Baxi (Baksi), Kiturami (Kiturami), Bosch (Bosch) and so on. It should be noted that the products of these companies also do not sin with low quality, but they simply buy less.

A gas double-circuit boiler helps to simultaneously solve the problem of both heating and getting hot water in a private house. It remains only to choose an individual device for a specific case. Modern models have a very wide functionality, so that everyone is able to solve the problem according to the size of their pocket.

The best manufacturing companies

The choice is quite wide - there are models and cheap ones, but there are also more expensive ones. But you need to focus not so much on the price as on the functionality and whether the device is suitable in a particular case.

Important Points

When choosing a double-circuit boiler, people are guided by standard requirements - power, functionality, cost, manufacturer, etc. There are a few points that are rarely mentioned, but they are very important.

  1. Type of instalation. The boiler can be hung on the wall or placed on the floor. If the device has a built-in boiler, then it often has a floor version. The same applies to models with a power of more than 30 kW. Typically, wall-mounted appliances are more compact and lighter in weight. This is justified by the fact that they are to be hung, which means that the floors will experience an increased load. Therefore, floor models should be bought for those who cannot use the wall as a support, or if they plan to buy a very powerful device.
  2. Built-in boiler. This is a very handy addition. Usually a volume of 60-300 liters is enough for 2-4 people. Household habits are also very important. If the boiler will be built in, then you need to select it in accordance with the power of the existing boiler. Typically, such devices are initially designed for certain volumes of the boiler. Therefore, this nuance must be taken into account in advance.

  1. Regular or Condensing? The latest models use as much as possible all the energy that is produced during operation - even that which is in water vapor. Therefore, their level of efficiency is strikingly higher (on average by 10%) than that of ordinary double-circuit boilers. Accordingly, such devices consume less fuel owing to which, the payback comes faster.
  2. Control. It can be manual or automatic. Usually, when installing the boiler, certain parameters are initially set for it. The temperature regulator, which in its simplest form is a mechanical thermostat. It turns on the burner when the coolant begins to lose its set temperature. It will also turn it off if the value becomes higher than the set value. In modern models, control is carried out by special programs that minimize human intervention. In addition, they are more "subtle" react to temperature changes in environment. Although initially such boilers are expensive, they pay off quickly enough during operation. If desired, you can gradually improve the device by connecting various modules to it.

Important! Before each new start, the device must be inspected by specialists. They clean and inspect for any faults.

Knowing these factors will help you choose the right device.

Which gas boiler is better? I answer from my point of view. For 10 years my team has been installing heating systems. We have been servicing gas boilers in the Krasnogvardeisky district of Adygea for more than eight years.

During this time, I have accumulated statistics on the maintenance of gas boilers. I warn you that I will express my point of view and my personal opinion and judgment, it may not coincide with the opinion and point of view of some manufacturers.

The gas boilers I am considering belong to the budget segment. Boilers more expensive than 50,000 rubles, you will not find here.

Gas double-circuit wall-mounted boiler - which is better for heating a private house.

How to make heating in a private house

Any story begins with the fact that a person has a house and needs to be heated somehow. If there is network gas nearby, then everything is fine. It remains to make a heating system in the house.

There are two ways:

  • Make a heating system for a private house with your own hands
  • Hire heating installers

How to make a heating system with your own hands, I will tell you another time. Suppose that the customer has chosen the second path and agreed with us on the installation of heating. I meet educated customers, they already know where radiators will be installed, and where there will be a warm floor.

They usually ask me questions like:

  • Which pipes are better and why?
  • Why so long?
  • What's so expensive?

In this article I will tell you how to choose a gas boiler for a private house. What is the most reliable gas boiler and why do I think so.

I will not consider domestic manufacturers of gas boilers, such as Neva, Lemax, Siberia, and others. There are not many of them, they, in my opinion, have a very small market share. It's extremely rare for me, so I can't draw any conclusions.

Gas boilers the best manufacturers

European manufacturers: VIESSMANN (Vissmann), VAILLANT (Vailant), BUDERUS (Buderus). German organizations that have given the globalization of production in Turkey, Russia, China. This trio specializes in thermal equipment. They fill the niche of thermal energy sources. From gas wall and floor boilers to heat pumps. They also produce solid fuel, diesel and electric boilers.

Italian manufacturers: FONDITAL (Fondital), ARISTON (Ariston), BAXI (Baksi), FERROLI (Ferolli).

Korean manufacturers: NAVIEN (Navien), KITURAMI (Kiturami), KOREASTAR (Koreastar) and MASTER GAS SEOUL (Master Gas Seoul).

Chinese manufacturers: OASIS (Oasis) and ROSTERM (Rosterm).

The most reliable gas boiler

In my opinion, the most reliable Viessmann gas boiler. Just like car manufacturers have small, middle class and business class, so boiler manufacturers segment their boilers to capture market share as much as possible, and Viessmann has cheap and expensive models of boilers.

Viessmann has a running budget model of a double-circuit gas wall-mounted boiler VITOPEND (Vitopend), with a capacity of up to 35 kW. They are relatively inexpensive, Viessmann Vitopend 100-W can be bought for 45 thousand rubles.

Rating of gas boilers in terms of reliability and quality 2017

  1. VIESSMANN VITOPEND 100-W
  2. ARISTON EGIS PLUS 24 F
  3. BAXI MAIN 5 24F
  4. BUDERUS LOGAMAX U072-24K
  5. FONDITAL MINORCA CTFS 24
  6. IMMERGAS EOLO MYTHOS 24 2 R
  7. DAEWOO 200MSC

The best double-circuit gas boiler - installer review

In my opinion, VIESSMANN has a balanced balance of simplicity and at the same time reliability and quality. In complex equipment, this balance is incredibly difficult to maintain. Vaillant, in my understanding, is trying to be as technologically advanced as possible. Although Wissmann sometimes slips this too. The last line of Vitopend, it seems to me, they are too clever.

German wall-mounted double-circuit gas boilers

In general, Wissmann has some simple knots, the most reliable. And Vaillant begins to fall into some kind of complex menu, the obligatory participation of a service specialist.

An ordinary user in Vaillante cannot figure it out. in order to change simple settings boiler, you need to get into the instructions, or contact somewhere, etc. On the one hand, this has a plus, in the sense that it is protection against fools so that the user does not interfere in the operation of the boiler. On the other hand, it makes life difficult for installers.

If we consider more budget options, this is Buderus. I can't say anything bad about Buderus. In general, the boilers are reliable. Now a plant has opened in Russia, and boilers are now being produced here. cheap parts, good quality assemblies. According to my observations, the boilers are reliable.

Vailant, in my opinion, makes good boilers, but I don’t like their service policy, I don’t like the over-sophisticated boiler control logic. The boilers are economical, technologically advanced, but in our operation this may turn out to be a minus. They are picky about poor water quality, poor electricity quality. Those boilers that were installed 8-10 years ago (I have accumulated my own breakdown statistics) break down more often than Wiessmann. Although this is one class device. Vaillant has very expensive parts, and according to my statistics, it breaks down more often than Buderus.

I installed about the same number of boilers from Viessmann and Buderus, and Vaillant was much smaller, and 80% of Vaillant boilers had some kind of breakdown of varying degrees of complexity. But they were all noticeably expensive. Even replacing the make-up valve came out at 2-3 thousand rubles. In Buderus boilers, the make-up valve has never been changed.

So I try not to recommend Vaillant. In my opinion, the whole policy of Vailant is focused on service, and to become a service, you need to buy a set of spare parts. For Moscow or for the northwestern region, it is relevant. People there live richer, they think about the service and are ready to pay for it. Guarantee, service on this you can earn.

IN Krasnodar Territory and Adygea is a problem, there are few such people, the equipment itself is not very common. Load up with spare parts and try to make money on repairs by pushing additional customers. service is not our style.

Italian wall-mounted double-circuit gas boilers

The Italians are generally not bad in quality, but, in my opinion, worse than the Germans. In general, I liked Baksi, Baksi's approach, service policy. Spare parts are cheaper than those of the Germans, but also quite expensive. Boilers rarely break.

Ariston in general, good boilers, there are nodes that break down quite regularly. This is a three-way valve if there is a split heat exchanger in the boiler. If the water is hard, then the valve breaks once a year.

Fondital And Nova Florida good boilers, rather poorly distributed now. Used to be popular because of the low price. The cheapest boilers according to Italians. I haven't put them on for the last five years. Those boilers that I installed earlier work normally even under poor operating conditions.

Korean wall-mounted double-circuit gas boilers

Boilers Navien very common in our region. Very cheap segment, very well entered the market. The boilers are not bad, but there is a weak knot that spoils everything. This is the primary heat exchanger. He is weak to them. If something breaks in Navien, then 90% is the primary heat exchanger.

Now, when many years of experience in their operation have been accumulated, it is clear that customers do not like it. Negative rumors are spreading. I think that on this occasion, probably, sales of Navien also fell. And they could develop. The boiler has a different design logic, made in Korea, unpretentious, cheap spare parts, but the primary heat exchanger spoils everything.

If they got rid of the design flaw with the heat exchanger, I think they would have captured the market a lot. I would love to put them on myself. It makes no sense to buy a boiler that breaks down on hard water in a year or two. The heat exchanger for this boiler costs from 6 thousand rubles + work to replace it.

Read also:

I installed few Naviens, but served a lot. I have not seen a boiler that has worked for more than three years without a heat exchanger failure. I came across old boilers with a copper heat exchanger that worked trouble-free for 6-8 years.

Kiturami. I can't say anything bad. They are not widely distributed in our country, inexpensive spare parts.

Deo not bad boilers, there was a period when these boilers often and vilely broke down, but then the design was finalized, and in general, those boilers that I encountered and installed myself showed themselves well. Good price, in conditions of poor operation, they showed themselves normally. Better than the Naviens. No worse than the Italians.

Chinese wall-mounted double-circuit gas boilers

Chinese gas boilers break down quite often. But Chinese boiler manufacturers are gradually taking over the market and constantly improving the quality. My prediction: within 5 years they will begin to actively invade the market, because they will improve the quality, the price is low + development has begun in automation, boiler control from the phone. Sensor technology, remote access, all this will be integrated into the boilers.

Now such electric kettles there is that, in terms of functionality, they remind me a little of a spaceship. Gas technology in this sense is a bit conservative. Of course, some models of gas boilers have access via the Internet, some settings can be made from a smartphone. But all this is not the same. I think that in the near future the Chinese will make a breakthrough in gas technology.

Poor operating conditions for gas boilers

Few people know, and even more so, turn their attention to the operating conditions of gas boilers.

Boilers break down quickly due to two reasons:

  • Chemically and mechanically polluted water. Sand impurities, scale, a lot of iron, increased rigidity.
  • No grounding, power surges.

Due to the quality of the water, heat exchangers and valves fail. Remember, I talked about Ariston and Navien?

The gas boiler needs to be serviced periodically.

Double-circuit gas boiler for heating a private house

Double-circuit boilers are good for small heating systems up to 100 square meters. With one bathroom and it is desirable that it is adjacent to the kitchen. And the boiler was nearby. For apartment heating double-circuit boilers are an excellent solution.

If 4 or more people live in the house, two bathrooms, if there is a large distance between the boiler and consumers, then the double-circuit boiler starts to work at the limit of its capabilities, which leads to its breakdown.

I would not recommend installing double-circuit gas boilers with a power of less than 20 kW for a simple reason: such a boiler capacity for heating is excessive, and for hot water supply it will not be enough.

Read also:

In order to heat the water in the duct, you need to apply a lot of power. Many customers and installers do not understand this. Therefore, I would not recommend installing household rulers below 24 kW at all. With a power of 20 kW, such a boiler serves 1 hot water point.

Calculation of the power required for hot water preparation

The cold water entering the boiler has a temperature of 12°C.

The boiler heats water and the hot water temperature will be 50°C at the outlet of the boiler. I put the number 50 degrees, you can substitute your hot water temperature. In wall double-circuit boilers usually it is adjustable from 30 to 60 degrees.

The difference between the temperature of the water entering the boiler and leaving the boiler is called Delta. In my example 50-12=38 degrees.

I don’t want to explain to you for a long time about the heat capacity of water, to give formulas that no one will understand anyway. To simplify everything as much as possible, we can say:

Important!
It takes 1 Wh to heat 1 liter of water by 1 degree Celsius.

When you turn on a hot water faucet, approximately 8 liters of water per minute flows out of it. Therefore, in one hour, 8l * 60min \u003d 480l / min will pour out of this tap.

In my example the Delta was 38°C. 38*480=18 240 W/h or 18.2 kW/h.

This is the power needed to heat water in the duct. That is why most manufacturers make wall-mounted double-circuit gas boilers with a power of 20 kW or more.

Attention!
Such a power of a gas boiler is needed not for heating, but for preparing hot water!

Additional losses occur for heating pipes. Everything is cold in the morning, the man turned on the water until all the pipes warmed up. This needs power. To heat the boiler itself, power is needed.

Therefore, if you have 2 bathrooms, 4 people live, it is likely that two or even three people will turn on hot water at the same time. The boiler will not be able to heat the water. Will big delay by hot water.

A wall-mounted boiler with a power of 24 kW is 1-2 hot water draw-off points. It is very difficult to heat hot water in the duct. This is exactly what installers and customers do not know. What boiler power is needed for the preparation of domestic hot water and not for heating.

Very often I encounter situations: 4 people or more live in the house, there is a huge half-ton bath, two bathrooms, one of them on the 2nd floor. Installers installed a double-circuit gas boiler in the basement. The owner of the house complains that it takes a long time to get hot water, and the boiler often breaks down.

This is a matter of equipment selection and system design. This is very often mistaken.

I explain to people this way: if more than 4 people live in the house, the distance of consumers is more than 5-7 meters, bathrooms are on different floors, and you already have a double-circuit gas boiler installed, then you need to recirculate, install an indirect heating boiler.

Which gas boiler to choose for home heating

Now I advise the wall-mounted gas boiler Viessmann Vitopend.

There was a period when I put Wiessmann. People explained about the quality, reliability. Then the price of Wiessmann rose, people were looking for cheaper options. At that time, I installed Baksi and Aristona and Fonditala boilers.

Then Fonditals rose in price, Wissmann fell in price. The Wissmanns went again. I usually dissuade people from Koreans, but if they insist, put a Korean, there is no money, I put it. And then I prefer to put Deo. They are better than Navien.

I put Aristons at one time, but there was a bad service policy. Perhaps she still has it. I can’t say that the Aristons are bad boilers, but the Equator customer-oriented service spoiled everything. For this reason, I stopped using Ariston.

Price is critical. The state of the market matters. People had more money, they put something more reliable, when there was less money, a crisis, people start saving hard on everything. Choose whichever is cheaper. This is the paradox of the market. A person builds a house for at least 20 years, but at the same time he does not think in terms of 20 years. The choice is based on price.

This is a choice not only of boilers, but also of radiators, pipelines, fittings. If there is a crisis, then they put frankly deshman garbage. Forgetting that the pipes in the walls will be very difficult and expensive to change. Even if the crisis is already over, and there is money.

Wall-mounted boiler - spare parts for gas boilers

What they do not pay attention to when choosing and buying a gas boiler is the cost and delivery time of spare parts.

You need to make heating at home. I don't know how you found people who will make your heating system. Maybe they were recommended to you by a relative, acquaintance or neighbor to whom they did something. Perhaps you do not know anything about them, and saw their ad in a newspaper or on the Internet. It doesn't matter.

You agreed with them that they will make the heating system for you, and most likely they will also purchase all the materials. It's no secret that many installers have discounts, and they earn a little on the supply of materials, and you save a little.

Now the most important thing: most likely, you will ask them the same questions that customers most often ask me:

  • Can you tell me a good gas boiler for a private house?
  • Which pipes are better and why?
  • Can you recommend good radiators?
  • How long will it take to deliver the product and install it?
  • Why so long?
  • What's so expensive?

What materials do you think installers recommend in 90% of cases?

Most installers advise those materials on which they get the most discount!

For example, some store gave an installer a 15% discount on Ferroli boilers. The heating installer will recommend this boiler to you, and possibly share a discount with you.

Italian boiler at a discount, such a joy 🙂 Winter will come, or maybe it will happen after 5 winters and the boiler will break. It's cold outside and the heating doesn't work. You call the installer or find a person who can repair your boiler urgently.

This person comes, opens the boiler and tells you: the heat exchanger is leaking, or the control board is burned out (or maybe 100500 more reasons), in short, you need to change this spare part.

He finds out, and it turns out that the heat exchanger for the Ferroli boiler will go for three weeks and it costs 29 thousand rubles. And the new Ferroli gas boiler costs 35,000 rubles.

This real situations from my practice. Imagine: it’s winter and frost outside (even cooler than the New Year holidays), the boiler is broken and now there is no money for a new boiler.

What to do in this situation? Change the boiler to a similar boiler? Or change the manufacturer of the gas boiler, but then you have to redo the project for gas. Wait for a spare part and heat the house with electricity, or what do you have there?

When I advise Viessmann, I know for sure that any spare part for this boiler can be obtained within 1-2 days. Or replace it with something, make the boiler work quickly.
