Tropical fruits on the windowsill. Exotic fruits that can be grown from seeds. How to grow avocados at home

After a lemon, orange, tangerine or grapefruit is eaten, you can simply plant their seeds in moist fertile soil and put in a warm place. When seedlings appear, let them grow a little, and then choose the strongest and transplant into a separate pot. If you want to wait for fruiting from your tree, do not forget to graft it at the age of 1.5 years. Then after 5-7 years you will be able to remove the first fruits from it.

The fruits may disappoint you a little: their taste and aroma will not be as rich as those of their counterparts growing in natural conditions.

Pomegranate

Rinse the seed of a ripe pomegranate and plant it in moist soil to a depth of 1-1.5 cm. Pinch the grown plant at the height that you consider optimal for your future pomegranate. Soon you will be able to form a pretty shrub or multi-stemmed tree.

At the age of 3-4 years, the pomegranate begins to bloom, three types of flowers appear on the branches - female, male and bisexual. In room fruit ripening takes a long time, in greenhouses it is faster, but in both cases the plant is amazingly attractive in appearance, while it can please with its beauty for a very long time (some homemade specimens live up to 30 years).

Date palm

Avid flower growers are very fond of growing date palm. To make germination faster, the bone can be slightly filed with a jigsaw or a knife with small notches. It is important not to damage the seed inside. Plant the stone in the ground vertically, it should be covered with a layer of soil 1 cm high on top. Water as the earthen clod dries up with warm boiled water. The sprout will appear in about a month and a half.

You can speed up the germination time even more if you soak the seed in hot water(38-40оС) for 2-3 days, changing the constantly cooled water to warm. Then hold in a water bath for half an hour and plant in warm, moist soil. Cover with plastic wrap on top, remove it when the sprout gets stronger. As the palm tree grows, transplant it into larger pots.

The date palm grows fast enough, turning into a powerful pretty tree, but the fruits in room conditions never gives.

Avocado

Carefully remove the stone from the fruit, remove the peel from it and stick it with a blunt end into the prepared one, i.e. moist and warm, nutritious soil. It is important that during the period of germination, emergence and initial development of the sprout, the ambient temperature does not fall below +18°C. Transplant the grown plant into a suitable pot and form a crown as it grows. In room conditions, it is customary to form a bush, although in natural conditions it is a tree.

Persimmon

Rinse the bone of a ripe fruit, dry it and plant it in moist soil to a depth of 1-2 cm. Cover with plastic wrap and place in a warm place. Remove the film sometimes, let the soil "breathe". Water with warm water if necessary. After 7-14 days, a sprout will appear, then you can remove the film completely, because it grows very quickly, and cellophane can interfere. Place the plant pot in a well-lit area, but out of direct sunlight.

The main thing in growing a young home tree (or bush, it all depends on the variety) is timely in a larger pot. If there is not enough space for it, it may die. In October or November, the plant should be moved to a place where the air temperature does not exceed + 5 ° C. It can be a cellar, a basement, a cold closet. Fill the soil with sawdust or dry grass. Spray occasionally with boiled water. Remove from cover in spring and increase watering.

When the height of the persimmon approaches 20 cm, vaccinate. You can buy a scion in a botanical garden or order it in a specialized store. 4-5 years after vaccination, you can expect fruit.

Yes, yes, you can arrange your own exotic plantation. Some fruit crops, atypical for the flora of our climatic zone, can be grown at home directly from the seeds.

This is familiar to many beginner gardeners. The same feeling that you experience when a fragile sprout suddenly hatches from a seed planted by your hand.

For some, at such moments, there is a feeling of a miracle and involvement in Nature. Others turn on God Mode. But in a closed space, and even in winter, both often result in uncontrolled botanical ecstasy, and the seeds of all the exotic fruits found in the area are sent to the ground in generous handfuls.

- If you plant this seed, you will grow a whole peach tree, all hung with juicy peaches.

This is understandable: growing a lemon, pomegranate, or even a peach from a seed is much more interesting than buying a finished plant or getting it from a cutting. Let's try to find out which fruit seeds can be planted and what such experiments can lead to at home. It is easy and quite accessible to everyone.

From pits to citrus

Mandarin, orange and their hybrid clementine, lemon and lime, grapefruit, pomelo (sheddock) and their sweetie hybrid (oroblanco), mineola (a kind of tangelo - a hybrid of mandarin and grapefruit), kumquat (aka kinkan or fortunella), limequat (kumquat hybrid with lime), orangequat (hybrid of kumquat with unshiu mandarin), calamondin (citrofortunella), etc.: representatives of the genus citrus are beautiful, fragrant, many-sided and practically available for experiments all year round.

The seeds selected for sowing should be as fresh as possible: without additional moisture, their germination decreases every day. General recommendations planting is quite simple: wash the seeds and plant them in a well-moistened mixture of garden soil, peat and river sand (or in a special soil for citrus fruits). As soon as the sprouts have 1-2 true leaves, they need to be seated. And it is better to immediately sow them in separate pots or cups.

Citrus seeds are interesting because you never know what will grow out of them: their seedlings, especially hybrids, usually do not retain the varietal characteristics of their parents. A wildling will grow from a citrus seed, and you may have to wait 10 years for your own harvest. Therefore, if your goal is to collect lemons or oranges directly from the windowsill, it is better to find cuttings of the right varieties and plant your seedlings. This can be done one and a half years after landing.

Excellent rootstocks grow from the seeds of a lemon, orange or grapefruit - healthy, strong and originally adapted to home conditions. But kumquats, tangerines and various hybrids are more capricious and are not suitable for rootstocks: their root system is not so powerful.

Despite the generic "community", citrus fruits behave differently when grown from seeds. Tangerines, for example, are "slow" in growth, but not so demanding on the composition of the soil. The first shoots from mandarin seeds may appear in 3-4 weeks. A kumquat planted at the same time will “think” for up to 2 months. Each citrus has its own timing of flowering and fruiting. But they have enough common enemies: dry air, spider mites, scale insects, aphids, etc.

The most popular "supplier" of material for citrus experiments was and remains lemon.

Persimmon from the bone

Diospyros, or persimmon, is a "divine" fruit from the Ebony family, which is rarely seen on windowsills. Meanwhile, it is also quite possible to grow it from a bone. It is done like this:

Washed and slightly dried persimmon seeds are planted in moist soil, covered with foil, glass or trimmings. plastic bottle and put in a warm place.

We periodically remove the "greenhouse", ventilate and moisten the soil.

As soon as sprouts appear, the shelter can be removed. Waiting for shoots is not long: just a couple of weeks. But if during this time you have not seen them, then they are unlikely to appear at all. However, persimmon germination is not bad. For example, out of three seeds planted on November 23, 2014, two successfully sprouted. Here is one of the shoots today:

And here is a funny time lapse of how it happens:

Two plants at first quietly coexisted in one pot. But then the leaves began to turn yellow, so the seedlings had to be planted urgently. At first, transshipment will be required more than once or twice, because. persimmon has a powerful root system that develops rapidly and requires free space. And moisture. Persimmons need regular watering and spraying. Therefore, we carefully monitor the soil, avoiding either overdrying or overflow.

Experienced persimmon growers advise twice a month to feed the plant with fertilizers (mineral and organic alternately). As soon as the "tree" grows to 20-30 cm, you can begin to form it by pinching. In summer, it is better to take the persimmon outside or onto the balcony, gradually accustoming it to the sun. But she needs to provide a cool wintering (5-10 ° C): for example, in the basement. If a tree lives at home from November to March, sooner or later it will die.

In room conditions, persimmon grows up to only one and a half meters. If a tree is grafted (by a cutting into a split in winter or by a bud at the end of summer), then it can bear fruit in 3-4 years. Otherwise, the harvest will have to wait for the same amount (and not the fact that it will be).

Dried fruit date palm

I always loved dried dates, but last year these guys surprised me: I didn’t know that something could grow out of them.

It turns out, how! Dates during drying are not subjected to heat treatment. So, their seeds do not lose their germination. And from them you can try to grow a palm tree. Only the bones are better to pre-soak. Although this is not necessary if the product is fresh, i.e. came from his homeland to our shelves recently. But just in case, I played it safe and soaked the date seeds for about a week, changing the water every day. True, she did not scarify and did not suit other dances with a tambourine. I stuck them vertically in a mixture of peat and sand and moistened with a spray bottle every other day or two as needed. About a month later, my future palms sprouted:

And here's how they grew in another month:

It’s too early to think about the harvest) Although no one will forbid us to dream, at best, a palm tree will grow from each date “feather”.

Provided that she has enough light and space, and I - patience. And, alas, I have not yet come across evidence that she is able to bear fruit in room conditions.

Care date palm consists in regular watering (without overdrying the earthy coma, and watering is minimized in winter) and spraying, airing, providing enough light and conditions for a cool winter. In addition, in the first "five-year period" the plant needs an annual transshipment into a larger pot. But how cool, probably, in the evening to sit down under a palm tree to drink tea!

mango mango

Huge bones are hidden in the fruits of this large Indian guest. "Mango" is even translated from Sanskrit as "great fruit". Its seeds are extracted from ripe fruits, opened, the core is taken out and germinated in a light and loose substrate ( suitable soil for cacti or succulents). Expanded clay drainage is placed at the bottom of the pot - as, indeed, in all other cases.

The middle of the already opened bone is planted immediately. The unopened one is carefully opened (if it is ready for this).

If it is impossible to push the wings apart without effort, the bone is first kept for a couple of weeks directly in the water (the water is changed every other day) or wrapped in damp cotton wool / towel. At the same time, it is extremely important not to allow drying out. After germination, they must be regularly sprayed: mango is sensitive to air humidity, as well as light and heat. He absolutely cannot stand the cold, and even at +18 he begins to feel uncomfortable.

Having decided to grow mango from the stone, be prepared for the fact that you will have to wait for flowering for 5 or even 10 years at best. However, this does not mean at all that the matter will end with fruits: the flowers of this exotic guest are very difficult to pollinate even in natural conditions , what can we say about the windowsill in foreign latitudes.

feijoa

In the case of feijoa (which is also called acca and belongs to the Myrtle family, which, translated into the language of flower growers, means some difficulties with wintering), the situation is approximately the same as with citrus fruits: varietal characteristics are almost not preserved during seed propagation, which means that seedlings will have to be grafted. If this does not stop you, keep in mind that the seeds for planting should be taken from a ripe and soft fruit (it will ripen perfectly in a warm place). Small seeds should be carefully washed from the pulp and dried. Sowing should be carried out superficially, without deepening (you can mix the seeds with sand).

If the seeds have enough light, heat and humidity, they will germinate in about a month. In the first months, akki seedlings develop rapidly, so they need picking and transshipment, and then pinching to form a compact crown.

Fig tree (fig)

Seeds of figs (figs, or ficus carica) for planting are “extracted” in the same way as from feijoa: they must be carefully washed, dried and sown superficially in moist, loose soil. Then lightly “powder” with sand, cover with a film and find a warmer place for them. They germinate in about 3 weeks, all this time they need to be regularly moistened and ventilated.

Sometimes there are difficulties with fruiting, but some gardeners manage to get fig fruits already from three to four year old seedlings.

Passion fruit (passiflora)

Passion fruit, also known as passionflower, is actually a tropical vine from the Passionflower family.

The fruits of this evergreen beauty from South America are edible whole, including the crispy seeds. However, if you plant them, there is a chance that you will grow a liana, and someday you will admire its luxurious flowering without leaving your home.

passionflower flower

Just remember to provide her with bright light and Fresh air, warmth, space, high humidity and "enhanced" nutrition.

Lychee

According to legend, one Chinese emperor ordered his gardeners to be executed because they failed to grow this sugary miracle.

Since then, has lychee been considered one of the most problematic candidates for pitting at home? But this is true, if only because the "Chinese plum" is one of those rare plants that require mycorrhiza. Otherwise, this is a very cute creature with narrow pinkish leaves.

coffee tree

In order to grow such a handsome man from a grain, it’s easier to immediately go to Africa, Asia or South America and collect fruits there coffee tree. Seeds ordered in an online store are unlikely to germinate: they lose their germination very quickly (I say this from my own sad experience: it is quite possible that I am wrong, and you will be more lucky). In loose, slightly acidic soil and greenhouse conditions with good lighting, the coffee bean will eventually turn into a wonderful tree.

Growing seedlings is exciting, sometimes even too much.

But over time, you realize that this is a thankful job - for patient, caring and responsible "testers". Eat fruit, plant seeds and wait for sprouts - this is so, the candy-bouquet period. And here the most interesting begins further. After all, the fruits of labor will have to wait for years. And in the literal sense, you can’t wait for the fruits at all (in the case of avocados and date palms, that’s for sure). At the same time, no one canceled the care of the pet - watering, fertilizing, light and thermal conditions. The main thing is to remember that we are responsible for everyone who was planted in a pot of soil and forced to sprout from the seeds. And if difficulties do not frighten you, friendly shoots and generous harvests!

Have you tried growing anything from a bone? Let's share our experience!

Exotic fruits, which fall into our supermarkets because of the seven seas, growing at home, it turns out, is not so difficult. No additional costs for planting material not required - you already bought it with the fetus. It may not be necessary to wait for a full-fledged harvest of kiwi or avocado, but isn’t it interesting to know how these fruits grow? Well, if you're lucky, the most patient after a few years, treating friends to tea, can casually throw: "I grew lemons myself, here on this windowsill." So, we grow exotic on our windowsill.

1. Citrus

The first in the list of contenders are citrus fruits - where without them. Perhaps everyone has the experience of growing oranges or lemons - few people in childhood resisted not to try to grow a wonderful fruit on their own.

Citrus fruits with proper planting and proper care grow quite quickly. But there is no need to wait for a quick harvest - it may not appear earlier than in 5-7 years.

In order for your lemon or orange to grow well and quickly, you need to prepare the seeds for planting. The seeds are washed with warm water, dried for one and a half to two hours, and then sown in the appropriate soil (for each type of citrus - its own).

The pot should be roomy enough - at least two liters, because in the first few years citrus fruits cannot be transplanted. Be sure to place drainage at the bottom of the pot.

After sowing, you need to build a greenhouse using a thin plastic bag - it is necessary to maintain the desired level of humidity. Try not to let the soil dry out.

sprout different types citrus fruits in different ways. On average, germination time ranges from 3 to 8 weeks. The most "slow" - tangerines.

And don't worry that a grown orange or lemon tree will take up your entire room - citrus fruits grown from stone in an apartment rarely grow more than 90 cm.

2. Pomegranate

You are unlikely to ever eat a pomegranate grown on a windowsill - pomegranates (as pomegranate fruits are scientifically called) at home ripen for a very long time. But enjoying the spectacle of beautiful delicate flowers is easy.

If you plant a pomegranate seed, then already in the 3-4th year your mini-tree will bloom.

You need to sow pomegranates in winter. We extract the bones from the ripe fruit, and immediately, without waiting for drying, we plant them in fertile soil. Embedding depth - 1-1.5 cm.

With regular watering, shoots will hatch in 1-2 months. When they get stronger, we transplant them into separate pots.

In autumn, the pomegranate pot must be placed in a cool place - in winter it needs peace.

3. Feijoa

This fruit has become quite familiar to us. Many have seen how feijoa grows in nature (in Sochi, for example) and would like to have this plant at home.

Feijoa should be sown in February. The first step is seed preparation. The seeds of a mature fruit are separated from the pulp, washed in a weak solution of manganese, dried and sown in a medium-sized pot. The soil is a mixture of leafy soil, peat and river sand in a ratio of 2:2:1. The seeds are small, so the planting depth is no more than 0.5 cm.

After sowing, the soil must be moistened with a spray gun and put the pot in a well-lit place. With good watering, the seeds will germinate in a month. And in five or six years you will already be harvesting.

But in order to get it, you need to correctly select varieties. For home growing self-pollinating varieties are suitable - early Crimean, Nikitsky fragrant.

4. Kiwi

We take seeds for planting from a ripe fruit with an intact peel. We clean the extracted seeds from the pulp (this should be done very carefully, the seeds are very small, they are easy to damage), rinse several times and dry on a napkin.

We put the dried seeds in a glass of water at room temperature and put in a warm place.

After 7-10 days, spread the opened seeds on a damp cloth (best of all - gauze), place on a saucer and cover with plastic wrap. After 2-3 days, when the seeds hatch, we sow them in separate containers. The soil is a moist mixture of black soil, peat and sand.

Humidity for kiwi is one of the main conditions for good development, so you need to constantly monitor the humidity. But at the same time, water stagnation is not allowed. Good drainage from expanded clay will help prevent it. Seedlings are best sprayed with a spray bottle.

The best place for kiwi - the southern window sill.

5. Avocado

Avocado is a fairly unpretentious plant, so growing it is not difficult. First of all, you need to remove a large stone from a ripe avocado and peel it from the brown skin, and then plant it with the blunt end down, leaving the sharp end above the ground. The main thing now is regular watering.

You can also use another method: immerse the bone halfway into the water with the blunt end down, secure it with a thread or a toothpick, put it on the windowsill and constantly add water to the original level.

In the interval from three to twelve weeks, the bone will hatch. When a sprout appears, the bone is transplanted into a small pot filled with fertile soil. The bone should be half deep. If you water the avocado in time, after three months its height will reach 50 cm.

6. Passion fruit (passiflora)

But passion fruit for us is pure exotic. It is more difficult to grow it than everything previously mentioned - this tropical vine needs to create special conditions. It will grow only in a warm and ventilated place, but without drafts. At the same time, passion fruit is very demanding on lighting and air humidity.

Passion fruit also needs a lot of space - it grows strongly and requires support to maintain shoots.

You need to start growing passion fruit from the stone in mid-spring. The bones taken out of ripe fruits should be laid out on a clean napkin and rubbed - this will open the juice bags. The seeds are rinsed with water and dried in a dark place.

The soil for passion fruit is made up of compost, topsoil and river sand in equal proportions. Seeds are sown in small furrows. The distance between the grooves is 5 cm.

The seeds are not buried, but only sprinkled with a thin layer of soil and moistened with a spray gun.

After two to four years, proper care your passion fruit will bloom.

7. Pepino

Pepino, or melon pear, is also quite an exotic fruit for Russians. Pepino got its name for the fruit with a taste of melon, but outwardly similar to a pear.

Pepino seeds should be removed from the fruit, wrapped in damp toilet paper, placed in a shallow container and covered with plastic wrap. Place the container in a warm (plus 25 degrees) and dark place.

Every 2-3 days, the seeds need to be moistened with a spray bottle. As soon as they hatch, the container must be moved to a well-lit place. When the cotyledons appear, the seedlings dive and plant in a pot with fertile soil. Pepino needs a lot of light, so choose a place for him with this requirement in mind.

8. Date

Phoenix is wonderful and useful fruit, but growing dates at home, alas, will not work. Unfortunately, no one has yet been able to harvest at home. But from the seed of a date you can grow very beautiful tree- date palm.

The bones are removed from the dates, soaked for two days in water at room temperature and cleaned of pulp. Then we plant vertically in slightly moistened soil for growing palm trees. We moisten the soil from time to time. It is important to choose the right size of the pot: it must be roomy enough, since dates do not tolerate transplanting well and can die if the roots are damaged.

Shoots usually appear in two to three weeks.

The date palm does not like excess moisture, but it is also not necessary to allow the soil to dry completely.

Try diversifying your home flower garden exotic plants and your home will be filled with new colors and smells. And besides, this is an experiment, and the results of it can be amazingly unpredictable!

Any person can grow strawberries, blueberries and figs, no matter how good a gardener he is. IN flower pots you can grow almost any fruit and berry, but these three are the easiest, so it's best to start with them.

"So simple!" prepared for you detailed instructions for growing blueberries, strawberries and figs on the windowsill. If you want to delicious berries and fruits were at hand, use these tips!

What to grow on a windowsill

  1. Strawberry
  2. In a city apartment, it is best to grow repair small-fruited bush or ampel strawberry varieties. After planting in flowerpots on the windowsill, such varieties begin to bear fruit after two months.

Earth: ready-made substrate can be bought in specialized stores. Any general-purpose potting mix for flowers or vegetables will do. You can also prepare the soil for growing strawberries yourself. To do this, you need to take in equal parts the land from the forest (preferably from coniferous), ready-made humus and sand. The finished substrate is poured into containers with good drainage, as strawberries do not tolerate stagnant water. As drainage, you can use expanded clay, river pebbles or finely broken bricks.

Landing: seedlings can be purchased at special farms that breed it, or you can grow it yourself from seeds. It should be noted that seedlings should not be bought from unknown sellers on the market, as there is a risk of acquiring a variety unsuitable for cultivation in an apartment.

Lighting: strawberry beds should be placed on the south or southeast windows, and in winter time organize additional lighting with fluorescent lamps. Strawberries are demanding on the lighting regime, it needs to provide at least 8-hour daylight hours.

Temperature: for strawberries, the usual will be quite suitable room temperature(18–22 degrees), if the room temperature is lower, it is necessary to install electric heaters. Plants are demanding on moisture and soil, and air.

Watering: beds should be watered as they dry out, while avoiding waterlogging. If the air in the room is too dry, you can spray water from a spray bottle around the plants.

Top dressing: for better development, it is necessary to feed strawberries at least once every two weeks. To do this, it is recommended to use universal fertilizers for indoor plants or special fertilizers for strawberries. However, you should not overfeed the plants, as only greens will grow to the detriment of the fruits. To increase the number of ovaries during the flowering period, the bushes need to be shaken or artificially pollinated with a soft brush. During the fruiting period, strawberries need an increased iron content in the soil. Some recommend sticking a rusty nail into a container with a plant for this, but it is better to spray the leaves with special solutions containing organic iron compounds, they can be bought at specialized flower shops.

  3. Blueberry
  4. Blueberries need cross-pollination to bear fruit. Therefore, it is better to buy a few blueberry bushes different varieties and fruiting periods.

Earth: there should be a special one - ericaceous compost (heather compost) - an acid-alkaline mixture that you can prepare yourself by adding a special moisture-retaining gel - watergel. You need to fill the pot two-thirds with soil that is sold for rhododendrons, azaleas or camellias. On top is a layer of mulch made from compost and shredded pine bark to help keep moisture in the container.

Landing: blueberry plants should be planted in a container at the same depth at which they grew in their nursery. Then you need to water the soil until excess moisture begins to drain through the holes in the bottom of the pot, then the soil needs to be compacted and, if necessary, topped up with more.

Lighting: blueberries are also demanding on the lighting regime, like strawberries, they need to provide at least 6 hours of daylight.

Temperature: normal room temperature (18-22 degrees) is quite suitable.

Watering: moisture-loving blueberries require frequent watering, especially in the middle of summer, when the weather is hot and the fruits ripen.

Top dressing: It is enough to feed twice a year - in spring and autumn. It can be organic fertilizers, but those that acidify the soil.

  5. figs
  6. Indoor figs are compact in size, unpretentious, grow well on the windowsill and bring a crop 2 times a year.

Earth: should be nutritious, drained, contain leaf humus, turf, peat and river sand. After some time, when the root system of the tree grows and fills the entire pot, indoor figs should be transplanted into a larger container with a volume of 6-8 liters.

Landing: in order to grow figs using cuttings, fully matured branches of a fruit-bearing fig tree are selected. Rooting is best done in January-February before the plant sheds leaves and begins to grow young shoots. The cuttings are cut 10-16 cm long with 3-4 buds. A sharp knife is used to cut them. Sections are dried in a cool place or on outdoors within 7 hours. A few small incisions are made at the bottom of the cutting, this will help better education roots. For rooting, the cuttings are placed in a container with river sand to a depth of 2–4 cm. After that, they are watered and placed under a jar. Prepared cuttings can be placed in a container of water, this will also contribute to rapid rooting. When the roots grow, the seedlings are transplanted into pots with prepared soil.

Lighting: in spring, when warm weather sets in, a container with a plant is placed on a balcony or in a garden.

Temperature: like all subtropical plants, this culture needs a dormant period. To do this, for the winter, the tree is placed in an insulated loggia, winter garden or some other cool place where the air temperature does not exceed + 10–15 ° С and does not fall below 0 ° С. However, figs can also overwinter at home on the windowsill away from heating appliances.

Watering: needs regular watering, so during the growing season it is necessary to moisten the soil in a timely manner, otherwise the leaves will begin to curl up and fall off.

Top dressing: nitrogen is necessary for the rapid development of the crop and good fruiting, so the first top dressing should consist of this fertilizer. During each transplant, fertilizers are applied. During the swelling of the kidneys, fertilizing from a solution of manure alternates with fertilizing from phosphorus. Feeding is not required during the dormant period.

Date palm care consists in regular watering (without overdrying the earthy coma, and watering is minimized in winter) and spraying, airing, providing enough light and conditions for a cool winter. In addition, in the first "five-year period" the plant needs an annual transshipment into a larger pot.

mango mango

Huge bones are hidden in the fruits of this large Indian guest. "Mango" is even translated from Sanskrit as "great fruit". Its seeds are extracted from ripe fruits, opened, the core is removed and germinated in a light and loose substrate (suitable for cacti or succulents). Expanded clay drainage is placed at the bottom of the pot - as, indeed, in all other cases.

The middle of the already opened bone is planted immediately. The unopened one is carefully opened (if she is ready for this) - as in this video:

Just do not forget to provide her with bright light and fresh air, warmth, space, high humidity and “enhanced” nutrition.

Lychee

According to legend, one Chinese emperor ordered his gardeners to be executed because they failed to grow this sugary miracle.

Since then, has lychee been considered one of the most problematic candidates for growing from the stone at home? But this is true, if only because the "Chinese plum" is one of those rare plants that require mycorrhiza. Otherwise, this is a very cute creature with narrow pinkish leaves.

coffee tree

In order to grow such a handsome man from a grain, it is easier to immediately go to Africa, Asia or South America and collect coffee tree fruits there.

What else can be grown from seeds? A lot of things, there would be materials and a place for an experimentarium! For example, our colleagues successfully grow kiwi, medlar and even pepino from seeds. And soon you will find out what happens if you plant avocado and pomegranate seeds.
