Threshold to the balcony: made of plastic and ceramic tiles. Variants of execution of thresholds on a balcony door Threshold on a balcony from a window sill

As a rule, the arrangement of the threshold on the balcony door is the final stage of work on the installation and finishing of the balcony block (door). In the vast majority of cases, professional installers offer the manufacture of thresholds from PVC material - a window sill, which is mounted on an existing threshold.

The window sill has both its advantages and disadvantages. The former include the aesthetic appearance of the balcony block, especially if the PVC profile has a color other than white, in such cases the threshold of the window sill PVC panel looks like a single whole with everything balcony block. It is easy to care for such a threshold, it does not absorb moisture, it is easy to clean. The disadvantages include: fragility, wear and tear, especially if the balcony is used daily, an almost inevitable creak that develops as such a threshold is used, severe freezing, since plastic is a poor heat insulator ...

Why is a threshold needed?

The arrangement of the threshold in front of the balcony door has several goals. Firstly, it allows you to smooth out the difference in height between the floor and the balcony profile, that is, to make the process of accessing the balcony more convenient. Secondly, it seals the place of foaming of the lower gap between the doorway of the wall and the door frame, this simultaneously eliminates a possible “cold bridge” that may form at the place of foaming, and enhances waterproofing, since the foam can be saturated with water during operation and moisture can enter the apartment, under flooring.

These and other reasons sometimes make it necessary to equip the thresholds in front of the balcony door from other materials.

They may be:

  • brick;
  • cement mortar;
  • metal profile sheathed with moisture-resistant drywall;
  • wooden block, with a chipboard (OSB) laid on it, or made of boards.

The arrangement of each of these types of thresholds has its own characteristics, which we will describe below.

flood threshold

The easiest to arrange is a threshold filled with cement-sand mortar. For its arrangement, it is necessary to free up the space in front of the balcony door from floor covering, if available, remove the boards of laminate or parquet so that the space between the slopes and from the level of the wall to door frame could be filled with a solution. The base on which the threshold will be installed should be cleaned of building dust, primed twice with an acrylic or silicate primer, which will completely bind the remaining dust and in the future will not allow the filled threshold to peel off from the base.

After the primer dries, it will be necessary to equip the formwork. In this case, one board, 2.54 cm thick and of the appropriate width, screwed or pressed with heavy objects flush with the wall in which the balcony door is installed, will be enough. The solution is prepared from a mixture of building sand and cement grade 200-400. The proportion is standard: 1 part cement / 3 parts sand. To increase the setting speed and give the threshold additional water-repellent properties, liquid glass can be added to the solution.

The threshold can be arranged at any height, but if it is high enough, expanded clay gravel or broken red brick can be used as a filler, which is laid in one layer in the formed niche and poured with mortar on top.

After setting the solution, it is allowed to gain strength, that is, such a threshold should be used no earlier than 5-7 days after pouring. When the solution is completely set, the outer formwork is removed, and the threshold itself can be finished both from laminate or linoleum, and lined with ceramic tiles or decorative stone.

If the door is wide, more than 80 cm or the design balcony door sliding (French doors), then the threshold should be filled in two stages.

First, pour half the thickness of the mixture, then lay a masonry mesh (metal) on it, tying the individual sheets together with steel wire, and then pour the threshold to the required height.

brick threshold

In order to save cement, especially when the difference between the floor and the lower edge of the balcony frame is large enough, you can use a brick (it does not matter which one). The preparation of the base is carried out in the same way as for the flood threshold. Arrangement of formwork is not required, but when working, you may need a “grinder” with a cutting wheel for stone, to fit the bricks to size.

Laying is carried out on a cement mortar prepared in the same proportions as for pouring. After setting the solution, you can begin to operate such a threshold in a day. The brick threshold is also finished depending on the design concept of the room.

Metal profile threshold

In some cases, when it comes to arranging the threshold of a door with a complex (not rectilinear shape), it is necessary to use a metal profile used for installing drywall and waterproof drywall with a thickness of at least 10 mm. Preparation of the base, with the exception of cleaning it from excess debris and dust, is not required.

According to the pattern, or markings on the floor, a metal profile is mounted to the base, screwed to concrete base screws into the dowel or anchors, then vertical racks of the required height are set, fastened to the profile by means of fasteners and metal screws, and then the upper horizontal, symmetrical to the lower, contour. It should be borne in mind that the threshold will experience a constant load, so the number of fasteners and the frequency of their location when arranging the threshold should be increased by at least 3 times, compared with the recommended frequency of their use when facing plasterboard walls or ceilings.

For additional thermal insulation, the space between the concrete base and the upper plasterboard threshold panel is filled mineral wool or covered with expanded clay gravel. If the threshold to be installed has curved lines, the facing of the end surfaces should be made of ordinary (non-moisture resistant) drywall 5 mm thick, pre-soaked in water to give it flexibility. After installation, the end part of the threshold should be puttied with oil-adhesive putty to impart water-repellent properties.

wooden threshold

The arrangement of a wooden threshold is also similar to the arrangement of a plasterboard threshold. To fasten wooden bars to a concrete base, holes are drilled in them according to the diameter of the anchors 100-150 mm long - depending on the thickness of the bar, the bars are laid out on the base and with a nail or a thin punch, through drilled holes, places for drilling the base are outlined. After that, the bar is removed.

Perforator or impact drill holes of the required depth are drilled. After that, the bar is again applied in place and the anchor fasteners are hammered and tightened. A self-tapping screw fixing option is possible, then polyethylene dowels are pre-inserted into the drilled holes.

Subsequent finishing

The mounted threshold usually needs additional finishing. It can be either laminate or parquet, ceramic tiles or just linoleum. It all depends on what kind of coverage you have on the floor and whether you want the threshold to stand out as an element of the balcony block or, on the contrary, you want it to be the same texture as the floor.

All types of materials that are used for the manufacture of thresholds can be finished with any of the materials listed above. It may be difficult to select adhesive composition for wood cladding with ceramic tiles. But for this, there are many polymeric mastics and adhesives that provide excellent adhesion (gluing) to any of the known building materials.

Summing up

Self-arrangement of the threshold in front of the door leading to the balcony is a rather laborious process that can take several hours. Therefore, you should start it when you have free time. In the case of pouring the threshold with concrete mortar, it is advisable to do it at a time when you do not plan to use the balcony for several days, so as not to step on the mortar that has not yet become stronger.

In many apartments, especially old ones, one can observe a situation where the floor between the balcony and the room adjacent to it is at a different level. In this case, there are two options for getting rid of this problem.

Firstly, you don’t have to think - and just remove the threshold to the balcony. It is only necessary to further level the floor - and then the difference in height will disappear. However, in this case there is a risk of significantly worsening the thermal insulation of the room, because all the wind from the balcony, especially if it open design, will freely penetrate through the door into the room. IN winter period this can become a problem, making a room in an apartment or house much cooler. Despite all the possible negative consequences, it all depends on the decision of the owners.

The plastic threshold is beautiful and easy to install.

The second option involves the arrangement of a special threshold. Built at the aisle, it will serve as a kind of step through which you can get from the room to the balcony space. And most importantly, due to the preservation of the level difference, it will be more difficult for the wind to freeze the wall adjacent to the balcony.

Air currents will rest against the threshold, which, in fact, is part of the external load-bearing wall. It is thick enough to keep you warm in winter.

Of course, in the end it is much preferable to choose the latter option. Let every time you enter and exit the balcony you have to use the threshold - nevertheless, its presence will be of great benefit in times of cold weather. After all, even if the balcony is fully glazed and additionally insulated, it is still much more prone to freezing compared to external walls.

If you are at the final stage of repairing a balcony and do not know how to make a built-in threshold for a balcony with your own hands, this article will answer all the questions that arise during the work.

What materials to use?

There are many ways to install the threshold on the balcony. Difficulty is determined by its location. For example, the corner threshold is somewhat more difficult to make than usual. The choice of material for finishing directly depends on the amount allocated for repairs, as well as the wishes of the owners in terms of aesthetics, strength and durability. Do the work with your own hands or invite specialists - here everyone decides for himself. Of course, with a certain skill, this is a good opportunity to save money, but at the same time it is worth double-evaluating your strength so that you do not pay twice later.

When choosing a way to finish the threshold to the balcony, especially if it is done by yourself, opt for the following options:

  • tree;
  • ceramic tile;
  • plastic;
  • brick;

They are the most popular for installation. balcony threshold. Now let's talk about the advantages and disadvantages of each of the presented materials, as well as discuss the procedures for direct finishing.

Tiles are one of the alternatives to plastic.

The most common option is to make a plastic threshold to the balcony. The installation here is very similar to the installation of a window sill, only it is placed much lower than usual, turning into a real step.

Nothing complicated, everything can be easily done with your own hands - we knock out grooves in the outer wall at the level of the doorway, insert the cut-to-size canvas, fixing it with self-tapping screws, and fix it with mounting foam.

The surface must first be degreased for better adhesion. We leave the threshold untouched for 12-15 hours. We put a load on its surface to prevent the expansion of the foam. After hardening, we cut off its excess and close up the space under the threshold at our discretion - usually installing a plinth is enough.

The result is a quite worthy built-in threshold, which is in harmony with the window block and fits well into the surroundings. Of course, due to the use polyurethane foam its service life is somewhat lower when compared with other finishing methods - nevertheless, it tends to lose volume and density over time. On the other hand, the relative ease of installation and its low cost smooth out this disadvantage.

The plastic threshold is not designed for heavy loads

Making a wooden threshold

So tree. Its main advantage is environmental friendliness and ease of installation. You can build a wooden threshold to the balcony with your own hands in just a few simple tricks. First, a frame is prepared from dried wooden slats - it is desirable that they be treated with a special moisture-resistant composition. We lay out the finishing boards on the resulting base. In addition to them, you can also use laminate or plywood.

It is worth noting here that it is better to cover the latter with linoleum or carpet, since by itself it will not last too long. And from the aesthetic side, it will be much more reasonable. This method of creating a threshold should be recommended in the case when it is necessary corner option, due to the simplicity of creating a framework. In this way, you can make not only a threshold, but even a whole closet for a loggia or balcony.

DIY ceramic threshold

Ceramic tiles require much more effort during installation. To make such a built-in threshold to the balcony, you need quite serious preparation. The first step is the formwork. According to its shape, the threshold itself will eventually be created, for this it is necessary to fill its cavity with a cement composition and wait for it to harden. Usually it takes a period of 20-25 hours - after that, we lay out the tiles on the resulting base. At the same time, according to the technology, glue is applied not to ceramics, but to cement, this should also be taken into account. As a result, a tiled balcony threshold, due to its durability, will last for many years.

Brick - cheap and cheerful

There is an option to make a threshold by laying it out with a brick. Such a peculiar option, although convenient from a practical point of view, is not available to everyone. Usually it is chosen for direct installation of the window block or taking into account the interior of the balcony space. For example, the brick texture fits perfectly into the design of the loft style, which has been gaining popularity in recent years.

Doing the work with your own hands will not be difficult - the main thing is to lay out the blocks evenly, applying the solution in an even layer. In the case when the threshold should be part of the masonry of the entire wall, with insufficient qualifications, you should contact the experts.

In most apartments there is a level difference between the floor and the balcony block. This is due to the design of the installation of remote external structures in the design of buildings. The step to the balcony is the result of design decisions, and it is one of its elements.

An example of the design of the steps to the loggia

In order to install outdoor balcony it is necessary to fix the remote reinforced concrete slab. They do this in several ways. A solid slab in the form of a console is fixed inside the load-bearing wall or beams and brackets are installed in it. A slab is laid on top of them under the balcony structure. Thus, the level of the balcony will be higher than the floor slab.

As a result, a step is formed inside the room. In panel houses, the balcony block, in which the door and window opening are installed, serve as a counterweight to the balcony slab.

If you try to cut down the concrete under the balcony door, the integrity of the entire counterweight plate will be violated. That is why the supervisory services do not recommend dismantling the resulting threshold, moreover, they may regard such an action as detrimental to design decisions.

The threshold to the balcony performs a number of other functions, prevents moisture and cold from entering the room.

Balcony step design options

The level of the height of the difference, therefore, the steps, depends on the design of a particular building, material bearing walls, fixing method balcony slab. Solving the problem of height difference between the floor levels in the room and the balcony block - beautiful decoration steps.

Examples of the design of balcony steps

The threshold can be decorated as follows, it can be:

  • wood finish;
  • laminate;
  • linoleum;
  • floor tiles;
  • window sill plate.

But first of all, you need to prepare the basis for finishing. It is made in several ways.

How to make a step:

  1. If there is a high threshold to the balcony, then the steps are made of brickwork, then it is plastered:

Without use brickwork, with a small difference, it is enough to install the formwork and pour it with cement concrete mortar.

  • take measurements;
  • bars are cut out on them for the manufacture of the frame, do not forget to take into account the height OSB boards(subtracting it from the height of the frame);
  • depending on the width of the threshold, reinforce it in the middle;
  • then the frame is sheathed with a cut-to-size OSB board;
  • a perforated metal corner is attached to the edge.

When choosing a finishing material, the steps are guided by the general style and decoration of the room.

Balcony step finishing option

Take into account:

  • What are floor coverings made of?
  • window openings, window sill plate;
  • joinery, for example, doorways.

The threshold should naturally fit into the overall design concept of the room.

Laying tiles

Before proceeding with the installation of tiles, it is necessary to carefully die out the threshold. As a basis, a cement-concrete pouring of a step is more suitable.

Tile installation:

Separately, it is worth dwelling on the lateral junctions. They can be decorated during laying with a tiled corner by inserting the edge of the tile into it. Or cover them on top with thin corners.

Wood finish, laminate

Wood remains perhaps the most spectacular material. Especially when doors and windows are made of the same material. The threshold is made from type-setting boards or a solid array. Depending on the depth of the steps of the balcony, loggia. In this case, it is better to make the base from a bar sheathed with OSB.

An example of finishing steps with laminate

Sequence of work:
  1. Perform measurements, which make the markup of the material.
  2. Then, using a jigsaw, cut out blanks of the desired size.
  3. Try on, fit.
  4. Boards are sanded.
  5. Attached to the frame with wood screws. Hats can be hidden with putty.
  6. The last stage, opening the surface with paints and varnishes.

The edge of the nut is made with a beveled edge. A metal corner is installed on a straight slope, choosing it to match the main color. Laminate is laid in a similar way.

Cut to size, fit, fit. Despite the fact that the laminate is attached to the thorn-groove lock, it is better to additionally fix it with small self-tapping screws or studs with small caps, then install the corner.

Linoleum decoration, window sill slab

When it is supposed to lay linoleum in the room, then this step can be covered with the same material. It is enough to cut out the desired piece, cover the threshold with it, attaching it to construction glue. Then set the corner.

As a material for the design of side junctions when using laminate, wood, linoleum fit angular shape thin wooden lath (glazing bead).

The window sill is used when they want the step to visually merge with the balcony block. Now they install plates with anti-vandal coating, so they are resistant to abrasion.

Options for finishing balcony steps with different materials

Since the window sill on one side already has a rounded shape, the corner is not installed. The side surfaces are designed plastic corners. See in the video: how to make a threshold to the balcony of linoleum.

The bottom of the steps is puttied, painted or wallpapered. You can make a fairly spectacular nut with your own hands by choosing one of the options. Sometimes you can find non-standard design: mosaic, tile pieces. A step made of round logs cut a tree, filled with epoxy resin. Such sills act as an element of the decor of the room.

After a new balcony door has been installed, it becomes necessary to make a threshold. At first, you might think that there is nothing complicated in this, but when you start to understand, you will understand that there are a lot of nuances. Accordingly, today we will talk about how to make a threshold on the balcony with our own hands. It will be difficult for an inexperienced person at first. We strongly recommend that you follow the advice of more experienced builders exactly, and then everything will turn out, the main thing is to do everything according to the instructions.

Do-it-yourself threshold to the balcony

The threshold to the balcony has two functions. The first is aesthetic, that is, a door with a beautiful threshold looks much better. The second function is isolation. Thanks to him, less cold enters the house in winter.

The threshold to the balcony can be made from:

  • tree;
  • plastic;
  • brick (it is better to use silicate);
  • properly prepared cement-sand mortar.

Dismantling

Working on the threshold

Removing a threshold is much easier than building a new one, but there are some nuances here. Wooden crafts dismantling is not at all difficult, but if it was made of brick, then everything is much more complicated. You need to do everything as carefully as possible, as you will have to use a hammer and chisel. If these tools do not help, then it's time to put the punch into action.

IMPORTANT!!! In places near the wall, it is better to work with a grinder with a stone attachment. If the disk does not reach in some places, then we are already trying to work with the previously mentioned hammer and chisel. The work is quite dusty, so we advise you to purchase a respirator and goggles.

brick threshold

high threshold in doorway balcony block

Most often, a brick threshold to a balcony is used in cases where the level of the balcony block is much higher than the floor level. Thanks to the brick, namely its thickness, you can easily and quickly eliminate this difference, thereby saving money on sand-cement mortar. Facing is made either from laminate or ceramic tiles. Make sure that the brick is not too high, otherwise the door will not open.

To build a brick threshold, we need:

  1. Putty knife
  2. Roulette
  3. Hammer
  4. Gypsum mixture
  5. Metal lighthouse
  6. Perforated corner
  7. Drill
  8. Nozzle on a drill "mixer"
  9. Sand
  10. Cement
  11. silicate brick

To begin with, it is advisable to tidy up, ideally wash the floor. After cleaning, we begin to prime everything. The primer helps to increase adhesion. We advise you to choose the soil mixture, after drying which remains a slight roughness.

Do-it-yourself high threshold in the doorway

Next, mix sand and cement in the proportion of 1 part cement + 3 parts sand. To make the solution set faster, add isogypsum or satengypsum to the resulting mixture. Mixer nozzle in tandem with a drill will thoroughly mix all the ingredients.

We take a spatula and evenly apply the mixture to the primed place and the edges of the bricks. Thus, the bricks will grab not only with the floor, but also with each other.

A perforated corner is placed on the corner of the bricks, and a beacon is placed on the door. They are fixed with the same solution as the bricks, there should not be a void anywhere.

Threshold made of plastic

balcony door threshold

The plastic threshold to the balcony looks great, but has a relatively short service life. Installing a plastic threshold takes no more than one day. All work consists in installing parts on the profile using self-tapping screws. We recommend using mounting foam for the interlayer.

by the most best material for the manufacture of plastic thresholds, PVC window sills are considered to be well-known and available in almost every hardware store. They are strong enough to support the weight of a person. With a beautiful threshold, the door looks completely different.

Wooden threshold on the balcony

Do-it-yourself threshold to the balcony

The biggest advantage of a wooden threshold is that it practically does not allow cold air to pass through. If it is additionally insulated with high-quality mineral wool, the effect will be even better.

To start, we take wooden blocks and collect from them a crate. It will have to be firmly screwed to the floor. Use pressed wood shavings as a cladding. It can easily withstand heavy loads without deformation.

Some believe that it is not necessary to install a threshold on the balcony, especially if the balcony has glazing. However, this construction is necessary in any case, since it performs several functions:

  • Improving the general appearance of the room, the ability to arrange a smooth transition from the living room to the loggia or balcony, which is especially important with large height differences.
  • Protection against heat loss, drafts, dust accumulating under the door.
  • The ability to hide the joints, especially if they are made inaccurately, or a layer of mounting foam under the door frame.

Types of balcony thresholds

Before you start creating and finishing the threshold to the balcony, you need to choose what it will be made of. There are the following types of construction:

Work options

Once you have decided what you can do, you can understand exactly how to arrange and finish the structure. Creating a threshold to the balcony with your own hands is possible in the following ways:

  • If there is too much empty space under the doorway or the doorway itself is deformed and severely damaged, it is better to lay out the structure
  • To create, you can use a cement-sand mixture, which is used to fill the structure. This option is optimal if you want to raise the level, but the space between the floor and the frame is less than the thickness of the brick.

  • The construction of a plastic window sill is quick and inexpensive way, you can cope with it, even without building skills. Before making a plastic threshold, it is important to choose a quality product made of durable PVC, otherwise it will deform from constant mechanical stress.
  • If the balcony room is decorated in country or Provence style, you can make a wooden threshold.
  • What can a threshold be made of?

    Regardless of how the work will be carried out, it is necessary to prepare the opening and the floor surface: they must be cleaned of dirt and debris, thoroughly wiped inside and out. Finishing is carried out on both sides, the outer must be cleaned and dried, especially if you have to work with the solution. In addition to selecting materials, you need to do the following:

    • Choose a design form. The step can be rectangular or rounded, have a smooth transition to the floor surface or a sharp drop.
    • Choose tools and materials for work; tools may be different, it depends on the design and method of finishing.
    • Inspect the opening, eliminate major defects if necessary.

    brick threshold

    For such a design, it is better to use silicate brick: it is resistant to moisture, withstands temperature fluctuations and has a long service life. The installation process of the balcony threshold will be as follows:

    • Floor preparation, leveling, cleaning and degreasing, applying putty. After that, the surface should be rough.
    • After that, you can lay the brick: before that, you need to prepare a solution of cement with sand (proportion 1: 3) and water, to improve adhesion, you can add gypsum there. It is very important to immediately proceed with installation after creating the mixture, since the cement hardens very quickly.
    • A thin layer of mortar is laid out on the floor, then the first row of bricks. At the ends, you need to leave a small space.
    • Apply to bricks cement mixture; the solution should not be too thick, 3-5 mm is enough. Then you can lay the next layer of bricks. If the threshold is made from one row, putty can be immediately applied to the material, and then proceed with the installation of the finish coating.
    • Most often, such a design is finished with tiles. The putty layer must be treated with a primer and the material laid.

    Threshold of cement-sand mortar

    With a small gap between the frame and the floor, you can make a threshold from cement mortar. To do this, you will need to prepare the cement itself, sand, water, putty, a mixing container, lumber for formwork, as well as tools in the form of a trowel and spatula. Sequencing:

    1. Preparation, surface treatment with putty.
    2. After that, you need to build a timber formwork, for which a timber or board up to 20 mm thick is suitable. Can be placed on the side ceramic tiles or brick breakage to make the structure more stable. The height and width of the formwork is done with a margin of 3-5 mm from the size.
    3. Then you need to mix cement with sand in a ratio of 1 to 3 parts, add water. The composition should be homogeneous, without interspersing the dry mixture, while being sufficiently thick. You can mix it both manually and with a construction mixer.
    4. Then the mortar is poured into the formwork. It must be leveled so that the surface is smooth, without protrusions or other defects. Curing takes 24 to 48 hours, the exact time depends on the indoor and outdoor temperature, as well as the level of humidity.
    5. After hardening, the formwork part of the structure is dismantled, the finished threshold can be painted with paint or other finishing and building materials can be used for cladding.

    Threshold made of plastic and laminate

    Often, a plastic window sill is used for installation; during installation under the step, a support is installed from wooden beam, pre-treated with an antiseptic, and the gaps are sealed with polyurethane foam. Besides, plastic panels can be used to finish the concrete threshold: they are fixed with self-tapping screws and building glue. This design has an attractive appearance and durability; if the balcony threshold is made of a window sill supported by a bar, its strength will be lower, but the installation process takes less time.

    Alternatively, a laminated element can be installed. It is used as finishing material, can be mounted on glue, liquid nails, using special fasteners, allows you to arrange with a smooth transition to the floor. For corner finishing, a plinth is used.

    How can I make a threshold to the balcony of the laminate?

    If the plastic threshold does not fit the style of the room, you can make a laminate threshold: the entrance to the balcony will look neat and aesthetically pleasing. For installation, you will need to clean the surface of the step, then cut the bar to the size of the nut. Liquid nails or other adhesive composition is applied to its reverse part, then the product is pressed against the working surface. The finished balcony threshold can be equipped with an anti-slip strip.

    Threshold made of wood and OSB

    The threshold for a balcony door can be made from OSB board on a wooden frame. This design better protects the room from heat loss, drafts, however wooden details must be treated against mold and fungus. Sequence of work:

    • Installation of a frame from a bar. You can fasten the elements with self-tapping screws, the ends must be filed hand saw or a jigsaw, if you want to connect the product at an angle.
    • Laying the frame, drilling holes for mounting dowels.
    • Fixing the crate, installation of the OSB board.
    • Warming with cotton wool or polystyrene foam.
    • The finished threshold for the balcony can be finished by laying a coating of laminate, cork or other material.

    Subsequent finishing

    After installing the balcony threshold, you need to decide how to finish it. In some cases, this is not necessary: for example, a plastic product made from a PVC window sill does not need additional processing. The following materials can be used to finish the threshold of a balcony door made of cement, brick or wood:

    • Cork coating;
    • Laminate;
    • Floor tiles, mosaic;
    • plastic panels;
    • Linoleum.

    How to remove the threshold?

    In some cases, the owners decide to make the balcony a living part of the apartment, and when this is necessary, they have to get rid of the threshold. If such repairs are planned in a panel house, the changes must be agreed with the housing inspectorate. Before dismantling, it is necessary to remove the doors, disassemble the box, and then proceed to work. It is easiest to remove a plastic or wooden threshold, it is undesirable to disassemble a cement or brick structure on your own, it is better to entrust the work to specialists.

    To create a flat floor, you can raise it; this is especially true if you plan to install an infrared heating system. To do this, a screed is made, the surface is leveled, after which the finishing material is laid. You can perform the work both independently and order it in a construction company.
