Spring work in the country. Spring work in the garden and garden: what to do, common mistakes. List of spring garden work

The arrival of spring is the awakening of plants and the preparation of the soil for a new harvest. The weather will tell you when and what kind of work to do, especially since it is different every year. But general recommendations should be followed.

The spring sun is so bright, besides, the rays are reflected by the snow that has not melted so that the crowns of the conifers get burned. While the snow is lying, the branches of young trees are pulled together with twine and covered using burlap or bedspreads.

Low trees are covered with shields. Warm water is poured around the roots to warm the frozen earth, and sap flow begins in the trunks.

Spring snow is heavy, and the lingering snow breaks off the branches of fruit trees. To protect fragile twigs, it is dropped and shaken off in time, but carefully, without resorting to forceful methods.

In spring, the bark on the trunks is gnawed by hares and other rodents. It is better to remove snowdrifts from under the trunks, then the animals will not get to the branches, and the trunks should be regularly inspected.

At the beginning of the month, on warm days, it is recommended to whitewash the trunks. Lime with blue vitriol will protect the trees from awakening pests, and the white color will reflect the scorching sun's rays. Instead of whitewashing, for a while, the trunks are wrapped with white paper.

When frosts are not lower than 10 degrees, they start pruning apple trees. First, old fruiting, then young trees. Pears, cherries and plums are pruned before flowering.

Pruning rules:

  1. Thick branches are cut first, then lower, so that the crown is in the form of a bowl.
  2. Do not leave visible stumps.
  3. A cut wider than 1.5 cm is cleaned with a knife and painted over with oil paint.
  4. In order not to infect trees, the file and knife are disinfected with potassium permanganate.
  5. At the shrub, old branches are cut off at ground level.
  6. Fruiting shoots of bushes are shortened by 15 cm, damaged branches are cut off along the first or second healthy bud.

It is impossible to prune annually, otherwise the tree will weaken. Last year's plantings are not pruned. For the treatment of broken places or those damaged by frost, a var or clay mash is used.

Treatment for diseases and pests

For treatment from pests and fungi, urea, iron sulfate or Bordeaux liquid are taken.

Pests are also afraid of Fitoverm or Agravertin.

At a temperature of 7 degrees Celsius, but before the buds increase, fruit trees and bushes are sprayed with a special insecticide.

It is also necessary to make grooves, divert streams and stagnant water to allow the roots to breathe.

Major cleaning work:

  1. Collect covering material, clean and put away.
  2. Clear the site: rake last year's foliage and grass, put in a compost pit. Remove broken branches from the site and burn.
  3. Remove emerging weeds.
  4. Remove moss from under stones and containers.
  5. sweep away garden paths.
  6. Repair and paint gazebos, benches.
  7. Check containers, flowerpots and eliminate cracks, treat with disinfecting solutions. In overwintered plants, replace the soil.
  8. Replace or remove old bark or woodchip mulch.

When to open winter covered flowers

On sunny days, covered flowers are opened, as condensation accumulates under the shelter, causing the plants to rot.

In the second half of March, daffodils and lilies are released.

Roses open at a temperature of 5-7 degrees Celsius when the snow melts. The first time - for ventilation. Drainage grooves are immediately made and the earth poured from above is removed.

Then the roses should be covered again, making holes in the material. Finally open when the soil warms up by 15 cm.

To protect shrubs, trees and flowers, their roots from temperature changes, a layer of mulch from fresh humus or compost is poured around. Pine bark or crushed cones are also suitable. In addition, mulching will help retain moisture and prevent weed growth.

In April, they work with soil and beds, plant trees. Carefully dig near-stem circles near fruit trees. After the snow cover melts, before the buds appear, plant the seedlings in a permanent place.

Ground handling tips:

If you dig up the soil that has not dried out, clods will remain, which will immediately harden. Also, you can not wait until the soil dries to a state of dust.

Readiness for digging is checked by squeezing a lump of soil in your hand. It turned out a dense lump - still damp, crumbled - late, fell into pieces - the earth is ready.

Before digging, organic fertilizers are scattered, and after - mineral and nitrogen-containing fertilizers.

Digging up, they remove the roots, so the rubbish will not grow longer.

Heavy soil where water stagnates is improved by adding gravel or sand. Hard soil is softened with sawdust, humus or river sand. Clay is added to the loose. They deoxidize with ash, and malic or acetic acid will help to make it acidic.

Using covering material before sowing seeds, root crops and greens, on heated beds, grow earlier.

With the onset of warm days, it’s time to take up the pond: clean, inspect the bottom and fill it with clean water. The next day, plant aquatic vegetation, after a couple of days - launch the fish.

With the appearance of insects, treat the area of \u200b\u200bthe site 2-3 times.

With the beginning of snow melting, it is time to spread mineral fertilizers with nitrogen, having previously leveled the snowdrifts and removed the ice crusts. Do not walk on the surface, so as not to leave holes.

As it dries, remove debris and leaves, combing the grass. Then loosened with a special rake. To penetrate the soil of oxygen, pierce with a pitchfork around the edge of the lawn.

If the surface is damaged, sand is poured into the pits and fresh seeds are sown. May is the time of cutting the regrown grass.

After the snow melts, inspect the currant and gooseberry bushes. Broken, dried and aged branches are pruned. Then fertilize the soil under the bushes. Pests are repelled by processing with copper sulphate or nitrofen is used.

Branches with swollen buds are removed, but if there are a lot of such buds, the bush will have to be thrown away - there are ticks in the buds.

On warm days, branches are rooted for reproduction.

Bent raspberries, first of all, are released. After straightening, they are tied to supports, cutting off old, broken and dried shoots. Then pour mulch from manure, broken branches or straw.

strawberry care

First, remove the snow retainers, then last year's leaves and debris, old mustaches and flowers. Collected is burned. Then, a nitrogen-containing fertilizer is poured under each bush, and Bordeaux liquid is sprayed on top.

The swollen first leaves are added dropwise, while loosening the ground around the bush. With the onset of persistent heat, they are sprayed with dissolved calcium chloride and wood ash. In place of the frozen bushes, young rooted bushes are planted. It will scare away mulching with ash and pine needles.

Flowers are planted when night temperatures do not fall below plus 10. Before that, they work with hyacinths, crocuses, snowdrops.

In order for the flowering of petunias, asters and other flowers to begin earlier, the seeds should be planted at home in seedling boxes, after soaking for 10-15 minutes. in potassium permanganate, then dry. Bulbs of plants are kept in solution for 30 minutes.

Conclusion

A clean and well-groomed site is a pleasure to admire during leisure hours. And timely processed shrubs and fruit trees with beds will provide a harvest for the winter.

If snow does not melt on the soil for a long period of time, and work on suburban area do not tolerate delay, then we speed up the process - we pour a thin layer of peat on the snow. If time permits, we wait. The soil on which the snow has melted is perfectly moistened. If you leave a snow cover next to the trees, the process of gradual wetting is extended.. So you can keep a significant amount of moisture for a fairly long time.

With the snow melting, garden work in the spring can be read from cleaning last year's foliage (if this was not done in the fall). It can be burned or composted. Then we remove the insulation film from the grapes, ornamental plants, open the strawberries. We pay special attention to the soil of the site: if necessary, then we remove excess moisture and loosen it.

After that upper layer soil should be mulched, that is, sprinkled with organic or inorganic material. The first is hay, nutshells, sawdust, humus, needles. The second - gravel, pebbles, various covering materials. Mulching helps conserve water and loosen the soil, prevents soil erosion, reduces the number of weeds, and promotes adventitious root formation.

Spraying and whitewashing - do not forget about the trees

All work in the garden must be done before the buds begin to swell. First of all, this applies to pruning shrubs, fruit trees and grapes. Early pruning reduces the negative effects possible from shortening. It is also important to get rid of dry and frost-affected or diseased branches and cut out excess growth.

If you decide to carry out, remove no more than a third of the branches in one year.

If the autumn whitewashing of trees for any reason was not done, then this must be done. Whitewash, which includes chalk and lime, protects the tree well from flightless pests that hibernate in the bark or fallen leaves. Be sure to do the first spraying of trees and grapes before bud break - many insects lay their eggs in buds or buds.

Spring work in the garden - March-May

In late April - early March, all fruit trees must be opened and the soil dug in a circle, only carefully so as not to damage their roots. This is done both to destroy possible pests and infections, and to improve the quality of the soil. Also during this period, it is advisable to dig the soil throughout the site and add mineral fertilizers or ash to it. Then use a rake to level the ground. When the weather is warm and sunny, early crops can be sown.

The beginning of May is a time when spring work in the garden requires special attention and patience from the summer resident. During this period, a variety of ornamental and vegetable crops are planted. For example, potatoes, cucumbers, melons and others. Due to the fact that frosts sometimes occur in May, both on the ground and in the air, it is necessary to carefully monitor changes in atmospheric temperatures. On frosty days, in extreme cases, smoke fires can be lit in the summer cottage so that the flowers of fruit trees do not freeze. On cool nights, seedlings should be covered with polyethylene or thick paper.

The garden plot needs care almost all year round: spring is the time to come out of hibernation and prepare the land and plants for a new one. harvest year. Summer is the time for plant care. Autumn is the time to harvest and prepare the land and garden for the harsh winter. Only in winter does an avid summer resident get a respite, and even at this time household plot needs some looking after.

Spring is the time for the awakening of nature after the cold, preparing the land and garden for a new harvest. But in spring, the weather is so capricious and unpredictable that before starting work in the garden and on the ground, you should navigate the first spring month not by dates, but by weather conditions.

In March, snow and frost most often prevent garden work from starting. But even at this time, you can find an activity that will help improve the appearance of the site, help trees and shrubs, and prepare the land.

Garden care in March

If the first month of spring is rich in snow, you should try to save fruit plants from damage by shaking snow from the crowns. Due to the alternation of frosts and thaws, the snow becomes heavy and sticky, due to which it can break off fragile tree branches.

Spring is a hard time for hares and small rodents, therefore it is desirable to check the integrity of the bark in young fruitful trees. If there is a lot of snow near the trunks, it is advisable to clear it so that the animals do not get to the branches.

Coniferous tree care

In spring, the sun is quite bright and the sun's rays can damage the crowns of coniferous trees, especially if there is snow on the ground, which reflects the light. If young trees are located in open areas, then it is advisable to cover their branches from the scorching ultraviolet radiation. Crowns tied with twine can be covered with burlap or old bedspreads. For small trees, you can build special shields. When the snow melts, the protection can be removed.

Fruit tree care

If whitewash is not applied to tree trunks in autumn or winter, this should be done in early spring. Alternatively, you can wrap the trunks with light paper. This will protect the bark from sunburn. Whitewashing will protect the bark of plants from pests that will definitely appear with the onset of heat.

Until the snow melts, you should start trimming the branches of fruit trees. This will help not only remove excess shoots, but also correctly form the height and shape of the crown.

Worth knowing!!! It is necessary to form a crown every few years. Annual pruning can weaken the tree and result in lower yields.

Video - How to properly trim the crowns of fruit trees

When the air temperature rises above 5-6 degrees, the branches of fruit trees should be sprayed with special insecticides against pests and diseases. It is important to do this before the first leaves appear.

If there was a lot of snow in the garden during the winter and in March it began to actively melt, water should not be allowed to stagnate on the ground. With the help of small ditches dug in the ground, the outflow of water from the site should be ensured. Otherwise, the roots of trees in a flooded area cannot “breathe”.

On sunny days, you can start to open the shoots of roses and other heat-loving flowers to prevent condensation from accumulating under the film and "harden" the plants.

Toward the end of March, bulbs of daffodils and lilies can be freed from covering materials. These flowers are not afraid of night frosts.

The release of the land and garden from the snow cover should be noted by a major cleaning. You should remove old leaves and broken branches from the ground, sweep garden paths, clean them of moss. You can also view garden furniture, repair or paint benches.

Garden work in March is the sowing of seeds of tomatoes and peppers for seedlings. Seedlings are grown in special containers at home, on window sills.

April

This month, much attention is paid to preparing the land for planting, and it is April that is the most laborious and busy month for summer residents.

Works on the ground

April is the time of working with the earth. But before you start digging a garden, you should know agricultural tricks.

What crops are sown in April

Table

NameDescription

planted in open ground, landings do not need to be insulated with a film.

Seeds are germinated at home. At the end of April, subject to warm weather, the seedlings are taken outside for hardening.

They are sown in open ground, but the beds should be covered with foil.

If you plan to plant potatoes, then in early April, you should sort out the tubers for planting, laying them in a well-ventilated and lit place for vernalization. Potatoes should not be exposed to direct sunlight.

If winter garlic and onions were sown for the winter, you should remove the mulch layer, loosen and feed the soil with crops.

In April, you need to prepare greenhouses for new plantings. In addition to digging and fertilizing, the soil should be disinfected. For these purposes, 3% Bordeaux liquid is used. It is also recommended to wash the glass or plastic in the greenhouse to improve the light transmission of the material.

April work in the garden

At the beginning of the month, you need to fertilize the root system of fruit trees and shrubs.

In April, after the snow melts, you need to remove all the bindings from the trees, remove the protective spruce branches and shields from the sun.

If the soil is too wet, you should not stomp near the roots of trees, this will impair their nutrition and oxygen saturation.

In the middle of the month, you can start updating the garden by planting seedlings of trees or shrubs in wells prepared and fertilized with organic matter and ash. Seedlings must be tied up.

You need to carefully look at all the trees and shrubs to make sure that pests have not appeared on the bark or branches. also in preventive purposes it is necessary to treat the stems of plants with a solution blue vitriol.

With the onset of heat, you can do strawberries. You should remove the mulch, loosen and fertilize the earth around the shoots.

May

Works in the garden

May is a month of unstable weather: warm during the day and frost at night. It is the night frosts in May that can destroy the entire crop if no action is taken. Also in May, all plants and crops are planted on the beds and greenhouses, so the month for summer residents and gardeners is very busy.

In the last month of spring, you need to try to finally form the beds. Cabbage is planted in open ground, sorrel, onions, carrots, aromatic herbs and spices are sown.

All shoots of carrots and beets should be thinned out and fed. It is recommended to water the sprouts after 3-4 days. Weeding should be carried out carefully, as the sprouts vegetable crops still very weak and easily damaged.

Onion crops are thinned out, fed with a mixture of mullein, potassium salt and phosphate fertilizers. Feeding is best combined with watering. In order for the plants to receive enough oxygen, it is necessary to periodically loosen the ground near the rows with bulbs.

Don't forget the garlic. The beds with this crop need to be watered often and thoroughly, otherwise the garlic begins to shrink without water. In mid-May, you need to carefully remove the arrows, otherwise these sprouts will pull on most of the nutrients.

In mid-May, it is possible to plant seedlings of tomatoes, peppers, eggplants in a greenhouse or open ground, under a film.

Folk calendar for sowing plants in open ground

NameDescription

You can sow under the film after the flowering of mountain ash, there will be no severe frosts on the soil.

These crops can be sown after the peonies open their buds.

These crops can be planted and sown in open ground after the daffodils bloom.

These crops can be sown after the chestnut blossoms.

Can be planted after the lilac blooms

Potatoes are planted in May. Early varieties It is customary to sow at the beginning of the month, late - in the middle or at the end of May.

It is important to know!!! Fragile and tender sprouts of garden crops need enhanced feeding and watering. Especially do not forget about those plants that are planted in greenhouses. You should also spray the seedlings with pesticides in a timely manner.

May work in the garden

If a lawn is planted on the site, then in May you should start cutting the grass. While the ground is wet, do not trample on the lawn a lot, otherwise “bald spots” will appear on it. In the process of cutting, it is important to remove the broken weeds.

During the flowering period of fruit trees, gardeners should be wary of night frosts, because frost-damaged flowers do not produce ovaries. To preserve the crop, you can try to protect the trees from the effects of cold. For these purposes, smoke bombs or small portable barbecue stoves are used, in which the fire should be maintained all night.

After the appearance of buds on fruit trees, care must be taken to ensure that pests do not destroy the future crop. For the prevention and destruction of apple flower beetles, ticks, moths, aphids, apple suckers, you need to prepare the following mixture: 60 grams of karbofos, 80 grams of copper oxychloride and 40 grams of chlorophos are diluted per 20 liters of water. These substances can be purchased in specialized stores. The resulting mixture is sprayed on the crowns and branches of all existing trees and shrubs in the garden. If the primary treatment did not help, you can repeat the procedure before the flowering of fruitful trees and shrubs begins.

With the appearance of the first leaves on the trees, you can see which branches were damaged by winter frosts. Dead branches need to be cut off, it is recommended to cover the cut points with ordinary oil paint.

In early May, you need to work with garden raspberries. Shoots that were bent to the ground for the winter should be straightened and tied to a trellis or fence. Damaged branches are recommended to be cut at the root, the remaining shoots should be cut along the first formed bud. Raspberries need to be fed; organic fertilizers are suitable for these purposes. Top dressing can be combined with watering.

It is important to inspect all gooseberry and blackcurrant bushes available on the site. These cultures during flowering and the formation of ovaries are a real delicacy for ants. To preserve the crop, a piece of cloth should be moistened in kerosene and placed at the roots of shrubs. Do not pour kerosene into the ground, this can adversely affect the plants.

It is important to know!!! If signs of doubleness appear on the blackcurrant during the flowering period, the bush should be uprooted immediately, otherwise there is a risk of infecting all the plants in the garden. Terryness caused by aphids and bud mites cannot be cured.

In order for the garden and the garden to please with a rich harvest, you need to pay attention to the planted plants daily throughout the entire garden period.

Where to begin?

We start with a bypass. You should check the winter shelters of heat-loving crops, make sure that they are not damaged due to frost. If the snow has already completely melted and the temperature outside is above zero, you need to ventilate the plants under winter shelters. So you protect heat-loving shrubs and perennials from decay. After the final warming, plants covered for the winter can be fully opened. Also in early April, it is necessary to free the branches of shrubs and perennials from the hooks bending them down and, if necessary, trim, raise the bent raspberry shoots, cut out the extra and weak ones, and cut the frozen tops.

Pruning of fruit trees and berry bushes is carried out before the start of sap flow, which is expected in the second half of April. The next stage is the processing of shrubs and trees. Take a closer look at the bushes black currant. On the branches at this time, thick, swollen buds, inhabited by a kidney mite, are clearly visible. They must be removed and burned. If there are many such buds on a branch, then it is better to remove such a branch entirely. Before bud break on fruit trees, as well as currant, gooseberry, raspberry bushes, it is possible to treat with a solution of nitrofen (300 g per 10 liters of water), while spraying the soil under the trees and bushes. Processing is carried out at an average daily air temperature of at least 5 °C.

Traditional spraying can be replaced by watering the bushes with boiling water from a watering can. In early spring the sun's rays can warm the dark bark of fruit trees on the sunny side up to 5-10 ° C. At the same time, the temperature of the tree bark on the shady side will be equal to the air temperature, and in March it is still minus. A sharp temperature contrast can cause a burn of the bark - damage in the form of cracking with further death of the bark. To protect fruit-bearing trees from premature awakening, and the bark from sunburn, you need to whitewash tree trunks with lime. The trees will not get very hot under the spring sun and will not wake up ahead of time. Whitewashing the trunks of fruit trees with lime mortar will reduce overheating of the bark, in addition, it will protect the trees from pests.

As soon as the last snow melts and the top layer of the earth dries out, you need to put the area in order: rake the remaining leaves, tops in compost heap or form a cucumber ridge out of them, loosen the soil in order to eliminate the crust formed after the snow melts. garden plants constantly need additional feeding. As soon as the snow melts or almost melts, nitrogen or complex fertilizers should be scattered over the frozen-thawed soil. Melt water will dissolve it and lead to the roots of plants. If the weather is favorable in April, they start planting fruit and berry crops. At the end of April, the soil is prepared and cold-resistant crops (radishes, radishes for early consumption, carrots, parsley, celery, parsnips, turnips), greens (lettuce, spinach, dill, cilantro) are sown in open ground. The end of April is the right time for dividing and planting perennial flowers. If organic, phosphorus and potash fertilizers were applied to the soil in the fall, then in the spring it is possible to feed the plants only with nitrogen.

HOW TO WHITE TREES?

Lime mortar for whitewashing trees is a fairly thick mass: 2-3 kg of lime per 10 liters of water. In some cases, to enhance the effect of sticking to the bark, no more than 50 g of wood glue is added to the lime mortar, and in order to give the solution disinfectant properties to combat pests and diseases of trees, 300 g of copper sulfate. Trees are whitewashed with a brush, roller or sprayer. To what height should fruit trees be bleached? Some gardeners advise whitening to the maximum height that you can reach. Others believe that tree trunks should be whitewashed no more than 1 m from the ground. And yet, the height and intensity of whitewashing should be chosen based on the degree of heating of the tree bark. The formation of the crown of a tree is a rather long process. After planting, pruning is done annually in the spring for 8–12 years.

When our garden wakes up after winter, it is important to necessary care so as not to miss precious time, because the weather in spring changes rapidly. And maybe tomorrow will be too late. Experienced gardeners know that specifying specific dates is a thankless task. In this article we will talk about spring work in the garden, as well as the vegetable garden, we will give recommendations for caring for trees and soil.

List of spring works

The time of spring work directly depends on the weather and climatic conditions of each region, but there are general recommendations when you can start the gardening season. They are associated with temperature regime, the characteristics of the growth of each culture and illumination. The list of works is presented below:

March : protection of coniferous bushes and trees from burns; pruning of berry bushes and fruit trees; whitewashing the orchard; loosening or replacing mulch.

April : cleaning the garden and the garden from dry grass, foliage and other debris; lawn aeration; processing the garden from various diseases and pests; fertilizer application; planting fruit seedlings.

May : planting a vegetable garden; transplanting seedlings of annual plants into flower beds.

When and how to perform spring work, each gardener determines for himself, assessing the weather conditions, as well as the condition of the plants. Below, we will tell you more about each type of spring care.

Garden work in March

With the onset of spring, gardeners are taken to pruning. If your orchard occupies a large area, it is best to start work in February. First, broken and dry branches are removed. Then, in young trees, they make shaping pruning, and in mature trees, corrective pruning. Sections that are larger than 2 cm in diameter are treated with protective agents.

Spring pruning of fruit trees

You can start pruning trees when the temperature is at least minus 10. In frost, branches and shoots are very fragile, so they break and are not cut.

Cut branches are best burned, as pathogens and pest larvae overwintered on them. It's time to whitewash the trees. In spring, trees suffer from temperature changes. Garden paint protects the bark from cracking. Young trees really need this care.

This work begins in March and ends with the swelling of the kidneys.

There are many ready-made solutions in stores that are very easy to use and save time.

Some trees are afraid of spring burns. Suffer a lot coniferous plants. They need to be covered with a protective cloth. white color. To do this, you can use spanbond, which is pulled on pre-installed supports. This design will protect the crown from imbalance sun rays and night frosts.

Spring work in the garden in April

Need to get rid of different materials, which have been protected since autumn ornamental trees as well as shrubs.

They remove the agrofibre, which is wrapped around heat-loving trees, shrubs.

Get rid of winter mulch. Sometimes it is enough to loosen it and leave it as top dressing. For example, if spruces, pines, cypresses, junipers, rhododendrons on winter period insulated with mulch, and it has been preserved in good condition, it is best left as fertilizer.

If the mulch has become compacted, has begun to rot, it is completely removed, and the soil around the plants is loosened.

After whitewashing and pruning, you can proceed to vaccinations. This process begins when the temperature is +5, and sap flow is activated in the tissues of the rootstock.

This happens in mid-April and until the beginning of May.

Early-flowering trees are grafted first - plums, cherries, apricots, cherries.

Later - apple and pear trees.

Cleaning the garden from debris

If the earth in the garden has dried out so much that it does not sink when walking, they begin to clear it of debris. These are the remains of dry foliage, stems, branches. It is necessary to clean the entire garden with a rake. Scooping out plant residues, aeration is carried out, i.e. enrichment of the soil with oxygen.

Garden treatment against pests

No garden is immune from pests and diseases. They hibernate in the soil, on the bark, under the leaves. Some fungal pathogens are blown by the wind for great distances. Prevention of this infection will help timely prevention.

After pruning the trees, they begin to spray the garden with various chemicals.

Processing should begin when the positive temperature is established. It ends during the formation of the ovary of the fruit. The processing time for trees is determined by the biological state:

before the formation of kidneys;

before flowering;

during the formation of the fruit set.

Chemicals are not dangerous if used correctly. They are characterized by fast action and long-lasting effect. A good effect is to neutralize the funds for a short period. When it's time to harvest, the toxic substances simply dissolve and evaporate.

Spring fertilization

A rich harvest without fertilizing the garden is simply impossible. In spring, fruit trees should be fertilized when the ground dries to a wet state.

During the period of active sap flow, plants need nitrogen substances.

Excellent results are shown by top dressing with complex mineral fertilizers, which is called: "On the last snow." Granules are scattered over the entire surface of the soil. Dissolved in the snow, the active substance is distributed at the required depth.

Planting seedlings at the end of April

End of April or beginning of May best time for planting trees and shrubs. The term of work can be determined by the condition of the soil. When the soil dries out, and it can be dug to the required depth, then the time has come.

Now trees are popular for sale, as well as shrubs with a clod of earth. This allows you to save the roots and stretch the planting time.

These plants can be planted from spring to autumn.

Sowing seeds and planting seedlings

The sowing time for vegetable crops is different, but you do not need to start work until the earth warms up to +15. For example, melon seeds - zucchini, pumpkins, cucumbers, cannot be planted on seedlings, they are sown under conditions of strong warming. If the soil does not warm up, the seeds will lie in the cold ground and will not sprout.

Before other vegetable crops, garlic and onions, beets, and carrots are planted in April.

They are followed by spinach. leaf salad, radish.

Seedlings are taken outside only after the threat of frost. For example, in middle lane they sometimes end in May. Temperature drops are dangerous for still immature sprouts of pepper, eggplant, tomato, cabbage.

Sequence of spring work

Gardeners worked out their plans for spring work. Usually, they are similar in many ways. If you follow a clear sequence, you can evenly divide the spring work in the garden. In order to facilitate the gardener's work, you can follow a plan like this:

Pruning, as well as whitewashing fruit trees;

Shelter of plants from burns;

Cleaning the garden from debris;

Graft;

Planting seedlings;

Application of fertilizers;

Sowing seeds, and then seedlings on the beds.
