Installing an electromagnetic lock installation diagram. Magnetic locks principle of operation, disadvantages and advantages. Selected EMZ models

With the advent of intelligent access control and management systems, electromagnetic locks have become widespread and densely used. These devices are not at all like the usual locking mechanisms and work on a completely different principle. They can be used as part of a standard security system, in conjunction with an intercom or standalone.. Thanks to this versatility, today magnetic locks can be found in large enterprises, business centers, public buildings, private houses, country cottages, high-rise building entrances.

Electromagnetic locks have a number of undeniable advantages:

    invulnerability to hacking in the traditional way;

    high wear resistance;

    jamming inability;

    long service life;

    high throughput.

Along with the advantages, such locking devices also have some disadvantages. The main one is the need for uninterrupted power supply. . In the absence of it, the lock loses its ability to hold the door, and it opens. Therefore, the presence of a backup power source is a prerequisite for the operation of such a device.

Magnetic lock design

The locking device of the electromagnetic type consists of two parts: the lock body and the striker (anchor). The latter is a solid metal plate comparable in size to the main body. It is attached to the door leaf and helps to keep it in the locked position.

In the body of the electromagnetic lock there is only a core made of a soft magnetic material, and a coil consisting of several hundred turns of enameled copper wire. The most commonly used windings have from 300 to 1000 turns. The body of the device itself is often made of stainless steel, aluminum or other non-magnetic alloys. There are locks in plastic cases, but due to their vulnerability, they are practically not used.

The principle of operation of electromagnetic locks

An electric current in the winding of the device is formed at the moment the voltage is applied. In this case, the closed reciprocal plate (anchor) and the core are a magnetic circuit in which a magnetic field arises that holds the door in the locked position. To open it, it is necessary to briefly break the magnetic circuit. This is possible either with the help of a special electronic key, or by force pressing the anchor. In the latter case, the force required to break the chain is calculated using a special formula, and the final value is indicated in technical specifications devices.

A great influence on the holding properties of the electromagnetic lock has the correct installation.

In the event of a loose fit of the anchor to the body of the device due to unprofessional installation or deformation of the door leaf, an air gap is formed. It creates significant resistance to electromagnetic field and, as a result, is the cause of the weakening of the holding force of the lock. It should be understood that this can greatly facilitate the work of intruders in the event of an attempt to break the door.

Electromagnetic locks are connected to a low-current electrical network with a voltage of 12 V, less often - 24 V, through a special converter. A UPS with batteries of the required capacity is used as a backup power source.

To date, manufacturers produce overhead and mortise magnetic locks designed for installation indoors and outdoors. The latter are protected from the effects of negative weather factors and successfully tolerate temperature changes, can be installed on entrance doors, gates, gates.

The most important element of the executive device of access control and management systems (ACS) is an electromagnetic lock. It is installed directly on the door and is controlled remotely by means of an electrical signal.

Its task is to restrict the passage of unauthorized persons to a residential, public or production room. Together with it, magnetic contact sensors can be used to control the position of the door.

The wide distribution of locking devices of this type is facilitated by their high reliability. They firmly hold the door in the closed position, are not afraid of aggressive environments and work at any temperature, which is important for their outdoor use.

An electromagnetic lock designed to work as part of an access control system has a simple structure. Its body contains an electromagnet consisting of a core and a winding. The core material does not have the effect of magnetic memory, which contributes to the efficiency of control.

It is usually assembled from W-shaped steel plates used in most transformers, although there are also all-metal parts.

The coil winding contains several hundred turns of copper wire. The current passing through them creates a powerful magnetic field that can firmly hold the door in the closed position.

The body is made of non-magnetizable materials:

  • stainless steel;
  • aluminum;
  • plastics.

It has a fixture for mounting on the canvas or door frame. The kit is supplied with an iron plate that fixes the door in the closed position. The electrical circuitry often includes a bi-directional protection diode that can reduce voltage surges during switching.

To quickly remove residual magnetization, electrical capacitors are used.

The operating voltage for most magnetic locks is 12 volts. Minor deviations are allowed, but they are undesirable. At lower values, work efficiency and holding force are sharply reduced. If the voltage rises, the winding may overheat. The power consumption is small and amounts to a few watts.

CHARACTERISTICS AND DEVICE

In the design of almost all electromagnetic locks, there are no moving parts that can wear out during operation. This is the secret of their reliability and long service life, even when installed on doors and gates that pass a large flow of people every day.

Such devices ensure the safety of evacuation in case of fire. Unlike mechanical ones, they automatically open when the voltage is removed.

The controller is responsible for managing the operating modes of the device. It may be in close proximity to the door or be located remotely. The controller is an electronic circuit, in the memory of which there is a key cipher, as well as access codes.

When an electronic key fob or card comes into contact with a reader, the code embedded in them is compared with the encrypted information of the controller. The selection of a cipher is almost impossible due to the huge number of possible combinations. At a positive result the device removes voltage from the winding for a few seconds, and the door can be opened.

MAGNETIC LOCK FOR INTERIOR DOORS

Interior doors usually have a fragile design, so it does not make sense to install a powerful locking device to keep them in the closed position. Inside the building there is little chance of burglary. Here, miniature designs come to the fore that do not affect the overall design.

Often a magnetic lock is installed, which is cut into the door leaf. It is easy to use and does not limit the opening space. An important characteristic of such a device is its noiselessness.

The delivery set usually includes a lock with a striker, fasteners and hardware. Separately purchased:

  • reader;
  • exit button;
  • controller;
  • a set of keys, key fobs or magnetic cards.

Uninterruptible power supply devices are used at important facilities to prevent uncontrolled opening of doors in the event of a power outage. Magnetic lock insert for interior doors carried out by a specialist. In indoor areas, hidden placement of all equipment, including cabling, is usually used.

models of magnetic interior locks quite a lot, for example:

It has a dead weight of no more than one kilogram. Its dimensions are 168x36x21 mm. Supply voltage 12V/24V. Power consumption less than 5W. Holding force 150 watts.

Weight 1.0 kg. Dimensions 184x22x30. Supply voltage 12V. Power 4.8 W. Holding force 180 watts.

INSTALLATION OF ELECTROMAGNETIC LOCKS

There are no special requirements for the installation location of the electromagnetic lock, but it will most reliably fix the door when fixed in the middle of the vertical opening line. For overhead models, it is important not to interfere with the free passage of people.

To simplify installation, they are often installed at the top of the door next to the door closer. At the same time, the design of the door leaf must be very rigid in order to avoid possible distortions.

The reader is located in a prominent place and at a convenient height for use.

The installation of an electromagnetic lock is carried out in accordance with the instructions and the installation diagram provided for specific model. When laying electrical wiring, electrical safety rules must be observed. When working in the access control and management system, the controller is connected to a single network with access to the host computer.

Installation kit.

The kit for installing an electromagnetic lock must necessarily include the lock itself in a durable case with a yoke, mounting strips and fasteners for mounting on the canvas and door frame in the position specified by the manufacturer. Other devices may need to be purchased separately.

When picking, the compatibility of the equipment and its technical data are taken into account. To do this, it is better to consult with a competent specialist or pick up everything you need in a specialized store, where you will be given the necessary advice.

During installation, you will need a controller, a reader with a set of keys, a power supply, an exit button. To increase the reliability of the entire system, it should be equipped with an uninterruptible power supply.

In the case of organizing a centralized access control system, a computer (server) with appropriate software is required.

Where can you install an electromagnetic lock, device and principle of operation, advantages and disadvantages, main technical specifications, types and types, what is included in the kit, installation instructions and connection diagrams, management.

Installing an electromagnetic lock is a reliable way to protect your home, while ensuring its aesthetics. appearance and ease of management.

The modern market offers many similar products that differ in price, characteristics, functionality and installation features.

Consider below:

  • Where are electromagnetic locks used?
  • What are the features of their device, and on what principle do they work?
  • What are the pros and cons of EMZ you need to know?
  • What are the nuances of choosing electromagnetic locks, and how are they completed?
  • What is the installation algorithm?

Each of these issues requires detailed consideration.

Where can an electromagnetic lock be installed?

The main feature of electromagnetic locks is versatility. They are used on almost all types of structures - on entrance and interior doors, on gates and on swing gate Oh.

When choosing a place for installation, it is worth considering the relevance and features of the product.

So, installing an electromagnetic lock on the door in the toilet or in the bathroom does not make sense - this expensive pleasure. In addition, when installing the lock on the street, it is worthwhile to provide protection against moisture entering the mechanism.

Device and principle of operation

The undeniable advantage of an electromagnetic lock is its simplicity of design. The product is based on a core with a winding, hidden in a special case.

The core deserves special attention. It consists of many sheets of electrical steel, characterized by a small magnetizing effect. Paintwork is used to reduce residual stress.

The core, formed from plates, most often has a W-shape. The winding is a coil with a copper wire wound around it. From above, the conductor is covered with a special insulating compound.

The body of the product is made of aluminum or steel. Sometimes plastic is also used, but its disadvantage is a lower resource and less reliable design.

The principle of operation is based on the action of electricity and a magnet. It works after applying voltage to the winding and activating the magnetic elements. As a rule, 5 W of power is enough to fix the massive doors with weight up to 150 kg.

When the EMS is turned on and off, an electromagnetic circuit is formed, which is affected by an alternating current. With the help of a capacitor, charging is carried out through the winding, due to which the polarity of the magnet changes. In this case, the residual current is directed to remagnetization.

One of the main elements of an electromagnetic lock is a capacitor. In the event of a breakdown, it may be difficult to open the doors.

The solution in this case is only to replace the defective element and connect it in parallel with the terminals.

Advantages and disadvantages of the device

Like any other locking mechanisms, electromagnetic locks have their pros and cons.

Advantages:

  • Noiselessness of work;
  • Long resource;
  • The ability to combine with an intercom, call button, code entry panel and other mechanisms;
  • Modern appearance.

Flaws:

  • Large dimensions and weight;
  • High requirements for voltage supply;
  • Ease of re-penetration (after a successful first breach).

The electromagnetic lock is directly dependent on electricity. Without power, it ceases to perform its tasks. This feature can be counted among the advantages and disadvantages of the devices.

From the position fire safety this is a plus, because when the power is turned off, the doors in complexes with a large crowd of people should open.

Based on security conditions, turning off the electromagnetic locking device in the event of a voltage loss is a minus, because the task is simplified for an attacker planning to get into an apartment or house.

That is why UPS (uninterruptible power supplies) are often used in the installation of such devices.

Main technical parameters

An electromagnetic lock has a number of characteristics that should be considered in the process of choosing and buying a device.

Among them:

  • Holding force. As a rule, electromagnetic locking products have a large pull-off load (measured in kilograms). On sale you can find products that have a holding force of 100 to 1000 kilograms or more. When choosing a product from one manufacturer, please note that the step between different models is from 50 to 100 kilograms. For interior doors, a holding force of 150 kg is sufficient, and for entrance doors, this parameter should be from 250 or more. For metal requirements and even higher - from 1000 kg.
  • residual magnetization. During operation, there are situations when a door with an electromagnetic lock opens with great difficulty. This is due to the presence of residual magnetization of the EMR caused by errors in technological process or incorrect selection of the magnet parameter. The optimal residual magnetization should be no more than 1.5 - 2 kg.

Types and types of electromagnetic locks and features of their installation

All electromagnetic locks are conditionally divided into two types:

  • According to the method of closing;
  • According to the features of management.

There are also a number of subspecies that differ in the principles of locking:

Electromagnetic locks are also divided according to the type of control:

According to the method of fastening EMZ can be:

  • Overhead. In this case, it is fixed with the help of metal corners, regardless of the location of the handle;
  • Semi-mortise - installed in the cavity of the door, but some of the elements of the device protrude above the surface;
  • Mortise - the product is completely inside the canvas.

Electromagnetic locks with controller

EMZ with an autonomous controller are gaining more and more popularity. Devices are mounted in apartment buildings, on the entrance doors to industrial facilities and administrative institutions.

EMS with control can be used in combination with the following devices:

  • Sensors signaling the opening of the door;
  • Key readers (there are contact and non-contact);
  • Buttons for opening locks (have a normally open contact);
  • External buzzers and LEDs;
  • An input inversion jumper that can be used to unlock the doors by applying or removing power.

The advantage of an EMZ with a controller is that it is compatible with the computer where the key database is stored. Also, using a PC, you can perform a quick download and upload of the mentioned information.

What is included in the electromagnetic lock kit?

To mount the device, you will need not only a lock, but also a number of additional mechanisms.

Electromagnetic lock kit - a set of elements that are installed in various premises and meet the stated requirements.

The electromagnetic lock kit consists of the following items:

  • Lock. Sold with wires for connection to a voltage source and strike plate;
  • Controller - a device used to control the lock. With the help of the controller, the main elements of the EMS are connected;
  • Data reader (used for opening). The mechanism can be unlocked by entering a code or by using an electronic key. The latter may take the form of a card or a key fob. Based on the model, a suitable code panel is selected;
  • Keys. As a rule, six keys come with an electromagnetic lock. One of them is already programmed for a specific opening frequency. Using the master key, you can recode the rest;
  • Login buttons. These elements are mounted indoors and are necessary to facilitate exit from the building without the use of keys;
  • Power unit. The purpose of the device is to power the EMP. The power supply is connected to a household voltage of 220 V. In addition, for uninterrupted current supply to the electronic lock, the PSU is equipped with batteries. Auxiliary power supply avoids EMS failure in case of loss of voltage required to hold the lock in the closed position (not always installed);
  • Electrical wires - used to assemble the circuit.

It is worth noting that on sale you can find not only ready-made kits, but also individual models of deputies.

Here are some options:

Additional devices for connection to EMS

During installation, additional devices can be connected to the electromagnetic lock, which increase its functionality and reliability.

Here are some of them:

  • intercom;
  • Video intercom;
  • Door closer;
  • Call button;
  • Code entry panel and other products.

The closer ensures smooth closing of a heavy door leaf, which reduces the wear rate of parts and helps to extend the service life.

If the EMZ is installed on a gate or gate, an intercom is installed with the device.

It is not included in the kit, but if desired, it is easy to buy it separately, and then combine it into one circuit with an electromagnetic lock. The call panel is mounted on the outside (from the side of the street), and the monitor is mounted indoors.

Installation instructions and wiring diagrams

When buying an electromagnetic lock and subsequent installation, it is worth remembering a number of features characteristic of various kinds door cloths. Let's take a look at the main options below.

Entrance metal door

Before starting work, prepare and lay out suitable tool. You will need a tape measure, building level, pliers, hammer, wire cutters. Also prepare a pencil, drill and screwdriver.

Depending on the type of box, mounting brackets may be required. It’s good if you have a core, a tap and other products necessary for installing an electromagnetic lock in metal doors at hand.

The main fastening element of the EMZ is a cylinder with a special cap resting against the door plane from the outside.

During the installation process, it is required to mark the installation site, drill a hole for the diameter of the screw, and drill a hole for the diameter of the bushing on the outside of the door.

It is important to make sure that the bushing enters a larger diameter hole from the outside of the doors and rests against the metal sheet on the other side. The holes on the bushing and the inside of the doors must clearly match each other.

It happens that even with the correct markup, difficulties arise. They are often caused by a discrepancy between the length of the sleeve and the thickness of the door leaf.

Therefore, if the sleeve is long, it will not be possible to completely hide it. Otherwise, the fastening screw may not reach the thread.

The options may be:

  • In the first situation, the "extra" part of the sleeve is simply cut off. To solve this problem, an ordinary grinder is used. Further, with the help of a tap, it is still necessary to go through the thread to remove burrs;
  • In the second situation, it is required to find a screw of greater length, because it is unlikely that it will be possible to increase the sleeve.

Between the door leaf and the “iron”, it is advisable to put a rubber washer that provides reliable contact and the necessary play.

To avoid rotation of the counterpart around the screw, it is worth drilling holes under the studs on the back.

First, the counterpart is attached, after which the EMZ itself is installed. This is due to the fact that a limited space is allotted for mounting the “iron”, but you can “play” with the electromagnetic lock itself.

The EMZ is fastened to the canvas using a corner (can be included). To begin with, the product is attached to the frame, and then the lock itself is placed.

To fix the corner, a drill, screws and a tap are useful. If fixing the angle to the frame is not possible, drill the holes in the frame so that they match the holes in the EMZ. Then fasten with screws.

Please note that after the completion of the work there will be no possibility of regulation, so the markup should be treated with all the attention. Otherwise, additional holes will have to be drilled.

It is worth noting that many doors are already equipped with electromagnetic locks. If the device has not yet been installed, you can do the work yourself or invite the master.

As a rule, drilling or preparing a niche for the hidden part does not cause problems, but you will have to tinker with the hole for the larva.

Plastic doors

Installation of an electromagnetic lock in plastic doors has its own characteristics. The reason for installing the mechanism is the long resource of the product.

With frequent opening and closing of doors, the electromagnetic lock hardly wears out. In addition, the device can be linked to an intercom, reader or control unit, which improves the protection of the premises and simplifies the operation.

But there are also disadvantages. EMZ can be mounted in the upper or lower corner of the door. This is due to the fact that in the process of attracting the web, its deformation and glass damage are possible.

That is why it is important to adhere to the following rules:

  • Avoid sudden changes in temperature;
  • Monitor the health of the magnetic mechanism;
  • Maintain additional equipment in working condition (in particular, closer);
  • Eliminate sudden power surges (it is better to put a stabilizer).

Many models of locks are suitable for plastic doors. One option is SOCA SL-100B.

The feature of the product lies in the excellent design, high level security and the presence of additional equipment in the kit (parts for installation, magnetic cards, power supply).

Another option is the SL-180L model, which has a downforce of 180 kg.

That's enough to keep plastic door and protect the premises from intruders.

Pay special attention to the EMS parameters. If the residual magnetization is too high, you cannot put such a model on a plastic door.

As for the installation of a lock on a PVC door, the following points should be highlighted here:

  • Before starting work, it is advisable to study the design of the door, prepare the necessary equipment and familiarize yourself with the installation technology;
  • If there was already a lock in the plastic door, dismantle it and select an electromagnetic device that is suitable in size; If the grooves are suitable, one screwdriver is enough to mount the new mechanism;
  • If there was no lock in the canvas, it is better to contact specialists.

Interior doors (for example, YM series doors)

Consider the nuances of installing an electromagnetic lock on interior door leafs.

Action algorithm:

Glass doors

There are several types of electromagnetic locks that can be put on glass doors. The most popular options are shear or mortise mechanisms.

The design is based on an anchor that works only in the shear direction. After actuation, the teeth enter the socket, and their fixation is provided by a magnetic field. Thanks to the convenient configuration, embedding the lock is not difficult.

Another EMZ option for glass doors is holding models. Their peculiarity lies in fixing the locking mechanism on the surface of the anchor.

The principle of operation is based on separation with a decrease in voltage. After the mechanisms are connected, the retention is carried out due to the magnetic field.

Specialized types of locks can also be used - moisture-proof, heat- and moisture-resistant.

Narrow electromagnetic locks are usually installed on furniture, shop windows, mailboxes and fire cabinet doors.

Installation of EMZ in a glass door is a complex and painstaking work. The problem lies in the characteristics of the material, which has increased fragility and uniformity. That is why when installing an electromagnetic lock, the thickness of the web glass door must be at least 5 mm.

In the case of using a mortise mechanism, the blade will have to be drilled using special devices and a diamond cutting edge. Simple tools will not help in such work. Alternatively, diamond-coated drill bits are suitable.

When making a hole, use special emulsions that provide cooling for the door and tool.

When installing the overhead mechanism, there are fewer problems. The device is mounted on special screws that are inserted into the bar through the holes made earlier.

After that, the locking mechanism is pressed against the plane. In order for the product to fit to the doors, it is necessary to use plastic gaskets.

swing gate

For installation on swing gates, an EMZ with a holding force of 280 kg can be used. If it is not possible to buy a product for outdoor installation, you can use an internal electromagnetic lock.

In the latter case, it is necessary to treat the product with silicone to avoid moisture getting inside. The product is powered by the gate power supply. EMZ is connected through a normally closed 12 volt relay. After the relay is activated, the locking mechanism is activated.

The lock and counterpart are installed on swing gate leaves using conventional screws. The EMZ is controlled using a remote control.

Gate

As noted at the beginning of the article, electromagnetic locks are often installed on gates.

The mechanisms used are of two types:

  • Shear (mortise);
  • Retaining.

The second option has more simple design and is more often used on gates. This is due to ease of installation and reliability.

When choosing a product, it is worth considering the characteristics of the EMS. It should have a holding force of 150-200 kg.

Installation is carried out as follows:

  • In the metal frame of the gate, make holes with a diameter slightly smaller than the size of the self-tapping screw;
  • Fix the EMZ;
  • Place a striker on the sash;
  • Pass the wires from the reader along the edge of the gate body. Next, fix the knot on the sash or fence;
  • Put the controller in convenient location from the outside of the gate. In the future, this device will be responsible for recognizing cards and keys, followed by turning off the power of the EM lock. Alternatively, you can put a code controller, but in this case there is a high risk of penetration by unauthorized persons;
  • On the inside of the gate, put a button that allows you to open the lock when you leave the territory. It is important that the button cannot be reached from the street.
  • Connect the lock to a power source. To do this, use a VVG-NG type cable with two cores of 1.5 "square" section. Finally, fix the tray along the wiring path to avoid cable getting wet and short circuit.

Connection Features

Now let's pay attention to connecting the electromagnetic lock. Here it is enough to have basic knowledge in the electrical part and follow the instructions that come with the device.

In the absence of a manual, you can contact the manufacturer or find a diagram on the Internet.

The main element of the device is the controller to which the equipment is switched.

The EMZ is connected using 2-core wires with a cross section of at least 0.5 mm. Connecting wires are hidden inside the wall or in a corrugated hose that does not spoil the design of the room.

Electromagnetic lock control

The EMS is controlled through a controller that performs the following functions:

  • Key encoding;
  • Transmission of a signal to open the mechanism;
  • Power supply to close the lock;
  • Other functions.

After the first connection, all keys must be programmed. To do this, follow this algorithm:

  • Bring the main key that comes with the kit to the controller that controls the device. The controller enters the jumper mode (recording);
  • Bring each key one by one to the reader and in this way program the rest of the products;
  • Put the controller into operation mode.

An electromagnetic lock requires a special approach to maintenance. So, experts recommend:

  • Periodically check the condition of the plate. This is necessary to ensure proper engagement with the electromagnet. The problem with EMR is that the adhesion force depends on the distance to the source. There is a geometric progression here, so even a few millimeters play a significant role. As soon as moisture gets on the plate, the oxidative process begins. At the same time, hydroxide and oxide interfere with the mechanism to perform its functions, which is why in the future a decrease in adhesion strength is possible.
  • Be careful when installing the EM lock on the door. As a rule, during the fastening process, self-tapping screws or other elements are used that weaken the force of the locking mechanism. That is why this parameter must be checked to avoid dropping the plate.
  • Purchase or find a master key. With the help of such a product, the controller is serviced and the entry card is coded. In case of loss of the key, take a spare key in the box with which you can program the rest.
  • Observe security measures. During the installation of the EMC, many confuse the output and input terminals or leave large open parts. As a result, a short circuit and a decrease in the life of the product are possible.

An electromagnetic lock is a reliable assistant in the matter of protecting a house, apartment, office or any other premises. The main thing is to carefully approach the issue of its selection and installation.

In the absence of the necessary knowledge and time to consider the topic, it is better to trust professionals.

Magnetic lock connection diagram for z-5r and matrix-II

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that a shunt diode must be installed on the electric lock. It will remove power surges that occur in the lock, especially when the voltage is removed from it.

The jumper on the controller is in the normal position. The power supply can be used with less current consumption.

Scheme of connecting matrix-IIK to an electromagnetic lock.

Scheme of connecting an electromagnetic lock to a reader combined with a controller. Well, I wrote about the diode above. Its really worth installing. In both cases, the wire from the power supply to the controller and from the controller to the lock must be of the ShVVP-2x0.75 type.

Connecting a keypad to an electromagnetic lock.

Keypads usually have a relay output. With three contacts

  • COM - common is connected to the minus of the power supply.
  • NC - Contact for connecting electromagnetic locks. BUT.
  • NO - Contact for connecting electromechanical locks. NZ.
A normally open lock is connected to a normally closed contact. ■

The main thing is that when connecting to a code panel, you always need to install a shunt diode. It must be installed on an electromagnetic lock. Some Chinese aluminum locks already sometimes have surge filters installed. And the installation of a shunt diode is optional.

It is better to look at the connection diagram for a specific code panel in the instructions from the panel. If you still need a code panel connection diagram, please leave a review about it.

Electromagnet button power supply.

You can simply connect the electromagnetic lock to the power supply. But you need to understand that there will be no opportunity to open the door from the outside. You can use to connect conventional switch Sveta. Turned on the door closed. Turned off the door opened. But in practice, you should not use such a connection scheme. You will have to remove the voltage and reapply.

This scheme is usually used at the checkpoints. When the decision to let it in or not is taken by the guard, and not the only door to the room is closed. In these cases, it is more convenient to use the lock control unit, I would even say the Z-396T opening timer. A simple wiring diagram and setting the opening time gives advantages over the Z-5R controller. An external reader cannot be connected to the timer. But you can connect the button to open the door. When pressed, the door will open for the specified time.

And information on how to set up the controller was collected in a separate article. If you have any questions please leave comments.
