It's true that McDonald's is bad food. McDonald's as a guiding star to obesity. Juices, cocktails and coffee at McDonald's

IN modern world there is a strange trend in nutrition. Along with the ever-increasing number of healthy food advocates, the number of fast food cafes is rapidly growing. People usually attribute their passion for fast food to lack of time. In addition, they say that this food is tasty and satisfying.

Despite the fact that scientists and nutritionists have been sounding the alarm about the dangers of food in the McDonald's network over the past few years, the popularity of this food is growing exponentially.

They attribute their concern primarily to the fact that today, more than ever, the problem of obesity among the population is acute. Even more alarming is the fact that this problem is getting younger every year, because fast food is very popular with children.

History of success

The first cafes fast food appeared in California in the first half of the 20th century. The very first of them was a roadside establishment where drivers could have a bite to eat.

At that time, cars were no longer a curiosity for local residents, so the food from restaurants among motorists who traveled along the roads was in demand.

The brothers Maurice and Richard McDonalds, working at their own film studio, which did not bring tangible income, decided to organize their own fast food with her, where hot dogs were the main dish.

In the process of developing their business, the brothers faced many challenges:

  • "Church" of personnel. Usually waiters who wanted to work in cafes were young. After working for a short time, they all left work, so the owners of McDonald's had to be on the lookout for new employees all the time;
  • The clients of the establishment were mostly teenagers who did not always behave decently in a cafe;
  • The visitors were not very careful with the dishes, they damaged and beat them, so the brothers had to constantly renew their stocks.

For several months they rested, suspending their business. And when they returned to business, their institution looked very different. Now large grills were installed in it, dishes that had to be eaten with a fork and knife disappeared from the menu, and easily breaking dishes were replaced with paper ones.

The main advantages of the restaurant were the speed of service, satiety and simplicity of dishes. The brothers began to arrange only guys as waiters so that pretty girls would not attract the attention of teenagers. This approach was successful - in addition to teenagers, adults began to come to the institution en masse.

Soon, symbols appeared above the cafe - two golden arcs, which are known today throughout the world.

Surprise and envy of competitors knew no bounds. To attract the attention of visitors, many owners of other establishments placed a sign next to the name of the latter saying that their cafe is the same as McDonald's.

One of the secrets of the popularity of the cafe chain is the bet on the family. People can come here with children, who, in turn, adore establishments not only because of hearty and pleasantly smelling food. The brothers decided to attract the attention of small consumers with the help of toys distributed to them as a gift.

Apart from tasty food and toys, small consumers are offered various contests and drawings where they can win, for example, a trip to Disneyland. This technique is successfully working today, which allows institutions to receive tens of thousands of new fans every year in the face of children.

Advertising is also important. Have you paid attention to the fact that in the pictures and videos we are shown dishes richly flavored with herbs, in particular, lettuce? Subconsciously, such information is perceived positively by our brain, there is a feeling that this food is useful.

But we do know what McDonald's food really is - fatty, high-calorie, practically devoid of vitamins.

Benefit and harm

In the second half of the 20th century, having studied "fast" food and its impact on health, scientists and nutritionists, at every opportunity, try to convey to the consumer how harmful food from McDonald's restaurants is. The meals they offer are satisfying, but not nutritious - they contain almost no nutrients.

Along with this, a lot of sugar is added to the dishes, which makes food tasty, simple carbohydrates, additives, flavor enhancers. Early in the history of fast food, hamburgers and other dishes were made from specially bred, large-breasted chicken.

It is possible that they feed the bird with substances that contribute to its obesity, and this subsequently negatively affects the health of the person who eats this meat.

Thus, what brings huge profits to network owners can turn into serious health problems for consumers.

Among them:

  1. Obesity. This is the scourge of modernity, and doctors and fast food nutritionists blame it. A rounded figure today is becoming characteristic not only for adults, but also for teenagers and even small children. This is due to the huge calorie content of food purchased at McDonald's. For example, in a hamburger per 100 g of the product there are 252 kcal, and in french fries for the same amount of a dish - 316 kcal;
  2. Diabetes . With the regular use of fast food, the metabolism is disturbed, which is the main cause of the development of the disease;
  3. Diseases of cardio-vascular system . This food contains a huge amount of cholesterol, which not only leads to rapid weight gain, but also causes clogging of blood vessels. This impedes blood flow, which causes the heart to experience a serious load;
  4. It turns out that high calorie- not the most terrible characteristic of fast food dishes. Doctors have found that the additives contained in them can provoke cancer.

Many nutritionists are inclined to think that the food and drinks consumed at McDonald's are addictive. It is due to the additives and flavor enhancers present in the dishes. Ordinary healthy food seems tasteless after a meal of fast food, so the body requires food rich in these ingredients.

This poses the greatest danger to small consumers who do not receive the necessary substances. Coca-Cola, beloved by children, to which they also get used, also brings considerable harm. They refuse to drink milk at all, and also dairy products, rich in calcium, necessary for the normal formation and development of the skeletal system, dental health.

The UN has already recognized McDonald's as more dangerous than AIDS. Powerful, isn't it? But even an understanding of this problem at the UN level does not give anything. The MD case drags on, people get fat and die, and the American authorities still give the green light to the distribution of these products. Why? I think the answer is obvious: McDonald's brings huge tax deductions to the US treasury, because this food (if you can call it that) is probably hooked on half the world.

What is McDonald's really? Let's try to figure this out together.

McDonald's spends more than $1.8 billion annually on advertising to maintain its image as a "sustainable" and "environmentally conscious" company where you can also enjoy a good meal. Toys and other tricks attract children, who in turn coax their parents. But behind the smiling Ronald McDonald lies the reality - McDonald's is only interested in money, making a profit on everyone and everything, just like all multinational companies. McDonald's annual reports talk about "world domination" - their main goal is to open more and more locations around the world - but this ongoing expansion means limiting freedom of choice and destroying local food culture, not to mention local producers.

Caution: stuffing!

With minced meat, things are even worse. Studies have shown that 78.6% of ground beef contains germs that are spread through feces. The medical literature on food poisoning is replete with euphemisms: “level of colibacteria forms”, “aerobic number” ... But behind these words there is a simple explanation why you can get sick from a hamburger: there is manure in the meat.

The situation is also dangerous because, at the current level of processing, the minced meat of one hamburger contains the meat of dozens and even hundreds of cows. And without colibacteria, it has enough infection. Every day in America, about 200,000 people suffer from food poisoning, 900 end up in hospitals and 14 die.

The truth about McDonald's

1. Especially for McDonald's, a breed of chickens with huge breasts, "Mr. MD", was bred. White breast meat is used to make a popular dish on the menu, Chicken McNuggets. It changed the entire chicken industry. Chicken began to be sold not as a whole, as 20 years ago, but cut into pieces.

2. Videos in fast food restaurants in Los Angeles showed that teenagers sneeze into food, lick their fingers, pick their noses, put out cigarettes on food, drop them on the floor. In May 2000, three teenagers from Burger King in New York were arrested for spitting and urinating in dishes for about 8 months. Cockroaches live in mixers, and mice climb at night on hamburgers left to defrost ... It is known that many fast food workers do not eat in their own cafe until they themselves prepare a portion

3. Recipes for potatoes and hamburgers should be looked for not in cookbooks, but in the works "Technology Food Industry and Food Engineering. What we eat there has changed more in the last 40 years than in the previous 40,000. Both the taste and smell of hamburgers and K are made in huge chemical plants in New Jersey.

4. . In addition to tasting McDonald's products, International Flavors and Fragrances produces 6 of the world's top 10 perfumes, including Beautyful, Estee Lauder, and Trezor, Lancoma. As well as the smells of soap, dishwashing detergents, shampoos, etc. All this is the result of one process. You shave in fact the same thing that you have for dinner.

5. The cows of the farmers ate, as they should, grass. Cows destined for a large fast food meat grinder are herded in huge herds to special areas three months before being killed, where they are fed with grains and anabolics.

6. Obesity is the second leading cause of death in the United States after smoking. Every year, 28,000 people die from it. The level of obesity among the British, who love fast food more than all Europeans, has doubled. In Japan, with their marine and vegetable diet, there were almost no fat people before - today they have become like everyone else.

From Coca-Cola you can become hunchbacked
7. If for many centuries children and teenagers drank mainly milk and dairy products, now they drink Pepsi-Cola, Coca-Cola, which have no calcium and a lot of phosphorus. As a result, teenagers do not reach peak bone mass. Adolescence is a very important stage in life when the bone is laid. Many scientists in the West note with concern the consumption of large amounts of artificial drinks and a sharp decrease in milk consumption, which makes a significant contribution to the development of osteoporosis. We can say that the cornerstones of the disease of the elderly are laid in adolescence.

Feeds children and feeds children

8. The McDonalds brothers bet on the family. As a result, the modern child gorges himself on hamburgers and drinks three times as much cola as 30 years ago. In America, even 2-year-old kids drink cola. (Today, many companies have adopted Kroc's tactics, realizing that children are a win-win category of buyers, on which guilt-ridden, busy parents are spending more and more money.) By and large, the entire fast food industry is designed for children. This is what feeds children and feeds them at the same time: the main labor force of these cafes are high school students.

Caution: stuffing!
9. Things are even worse with minced meat.

Sandwiches change people

10. In fact, both the Japanese and all other McDonald's customers turn into fat people in just a few years. 54 million Americans are obese, 6 million are super fat - they are overweight by 100 pounds (45 kg). No nation in history has gained weight so quickly.
Fast food companies are accused of not having informative labels on their products about the threat of obesity. A group of fat people in New York City recently sued fast food chains for "deliberately forcing people to eat junk food."

It turns out that even in fast food restaurants you can eat with health benefits! The main thing is to know what to choose from the menu.

At our request Anna Malovichko, specialist in clinical nutrition and author of the EdaiFizСultura blog inspected the menus of popular fast food chains and chose the healthiest and most healthy meals. (Although at first, upon hearing our request, she threw carrots at us!) So, the floor to Anna!

In all networks, I chose dishes that do not contain harmful food additives. Well, they fit at least a little into the concept of a healthy lifestyle. That is why sandwiches with pork (bacon) did not get into my menu: it contains saturated fats, and this is overweight, atherosclerosis, high cholesterol and heart disease.

I also tried to exclude rolls - this is a simple carbohydrate. It provides calories, but no nutrients. It breaks down quickly, causing a sharp jump in blood sugar, then a sharp decline. After a sharp drop in blood sugar, there is a feeling of fatigue, loss of strength and hunger. The abuse of simple carbohydrates wears out the pancreas and can lead to diabetes.

From drinks I recommend mineral water, tea, coffee without milk and sugar. All sugary sodas are high in sugar and high in calories. The consumption of sugar requires a large expenditure of energy from the body. For its processing, he spends reserves of B vitamins and an indispensable trace element - zinc. In return, the body receives only a large dose of glucose without nutrients. By depriving the body of vitamins and minerals, sugar weakens the immune system. Sugar-containing foods are the main reason for the development diabetes and problems with being overweight.

McDonald's

Breakfast

Oatmeal with honey, jam or cranberries with raisins. Oatmeal is a complex carbohydrate containing fiber. This will not cause a sharp jump in blood sugar and the subsequent sharp drop. Result: stable well-being without a sharp surge of strength, replaced by its sharp decline; satiety and energy for a long time.

Omelette. It is better to eat it without a roll, which provides calories but does not contain any nutrients. For scrambled eggs, it is better to take carrot sticks or apple slices as a side dish. They contain the fiber we need for good digestive health, daily detox, and overall good health.

Any protein food is best accompanied by foods containing fiber. It helps move food through the intestines, improves the functioning of the excretory system. Protein food, on the contrary, inhibits these processes. The better the excretory system works, the less toxins and toxins accumulate in the body.

Main menu

Burgers at McDonald's are made with beef, chicken, and fish patties. The best choice is a hamburger. I recommend eating it without a roll, which, as we remember, is a simple carbohydrate.

Here's what I suggest:

Meat patty from a hamburger with tomato, onion, ketchup and mustard + vegetable salad. Salad dressing - oil or wine vinegar.

Dessert

Chocolate or strawberry smoothie. A small portion is better - fewer calories and sugar.

For those who are on a diet - apple slices and carrot sticks. I think everything is clear with them: fruits and vegetables, few calories, vitamins and fiber.

Burger King

Main menu

I would prefer a hamburger: beef steak, no mayonnaise, additional sauce, the composition of which is unknown. As a rule, sauces contain a lot of fat or sugar, as well as preservatives, thickeners, flavors and flavor enhancers.

Good option - grill chicken bbq. Its main component is chicken fillet (it is better to put the sauce and bun aside). Chicken is lower in calories and saturated fat, and is a lighter protein. Other deep fried breaded chicken burgers have more fat.

It is best to supplement the meat with a vegetable salad (called a salad mix). You can also eat king wings without breading and skin (peel off) + salad mix.

Dessert

Ice cream "horn". Small serving (less sugar, fat and calories), virtually no dough, no added sugar in the form of syrups.

"Baby Potato"

Main menu

The fewer ingredients in the form of bacon, cream, butter, sausages, cheese, the better: all of these products contain saturated fats. Therefore, the best choice would be potatoes with vegetable oil and potatoes with vegetable oil and dill.

Salads and appetizers

Right choice - croutons "8 cereals". It is a complex carbohydrate + fiber.

Soups

I recommend borscht, it has only meat and vegetables, and beef is the leanest version of red meat, it has less saturated fat than pork and lamb. Chicken Noodles: Chicken is a lower-fat, lower-calorie meat option.

Dessert

Strawberry fresh, if in fact it consists of strawberries. And I would like to know the presence of sugar.

KFC

Breakfast

Against the background of breakers, brusters, twisters, biggers, boxmasters, which contain bacon, egg, cheese, breaded cutlet (all together - a cholesterol bomb), sauces, cheesecakes and scrambled eggs look the most harmless. Fried eggs - yes, fried, yes, contain fat and cholesterol, but just an egg is better than with cheese, bacon, mayonnaise or sauce and a white flour bun. The scrambled eggs come with bytes (peel off the breading).

Main menu

Chicken pieces, skinless wings (less fat, fewer calories) and no breading. Strips without breading + Heinz ketchup. Strips are made from fillets, so they have less fat. Without breading, as breading absorbs deep-frying oil (excess fat and toxic substances). Classic Heinz ketchup has natural ingredients.

Dessert

Ice cream cone "Summer".

"Teremok"

The simpler the composition of the dishes, the easier it is for our digestive system to cope with them. We exclude fried, high-calorie, containing saturated fats: sauces, cream, butter, bacon, hard cheese.

Pancakes and cheesecakes

Cheesecakes with honey, pancake with honey, pancake with sour cream, pancake with cabbage and egg, pancake with banana.

It is better to combine pancakes with vegetables (simple carbohydrates + fiber), lean meat dishes with vegetables (protein + fiber).

Main menu

Buckwheat, buckwheat with grilled chicken breast, buckwheat with salmon, buckwheat with boiled pork, buckwheat with cabbage and egg.

Soups

Borsch (meat and lean), pickle, chicken noodles with meatballs, lean pea soup.

Salads

Vinaigrette with salmon, lean vinaigrette.

Dessert

Banana dessert with nuts.

chicken in sweet and sour sauce with vegetables (protein + fiber); Turin style meat with vegetables (protein + fiber); spaghetti with ragout sauce.

Pizza

The combination of dough and cheese or dough, cheese and meat / fish is not the best combination (lack of fiber, simple carbohydrates and cheese - strengthens; protein and dough - strengthens). It is better to give preference to pizza with vegetables and dilute all this bacchanalia with fiber to minimize unpleasant consequences. Or take pizza and vegetable salad.

He promised to write about Mac the next day and it turns out he deceived: (((
At first, I started spinning, then I didn’t have time for it, so I’m fulfilling my promise only now.

But first, a little about something else.
The fact is that under my post a rather heated discussion broke out about the dangers of McDonald's.
Therefore, to begin with, I want to speak on this topic. Why do I go there.
I just don't think Mac is bad. More precisely, I do not think that it is more harmful than anything else.

Do you eat sausage?
Then let's take the banal "Doctor's" dumpling and start with the fact that the Soviet GOST 23670-1979 (according to which it was made under the USSR) is NOT valid in Ukraine today (however, like in Russia), but instead of it, we have a national standard today DSTU 4436:2005.

According to this standard, the use of mechanically deboned meat is allowed for the preparation of sausages. Do you know what it is? No? Oh well...

In the modern meat processing industry, special continuous separators are widely used. Separators crush the bones together with the meat, then dividing the resulting mass into hard and soft components.
At the exit from such a mechanical deboner, a semi-dry bone mass and a mass of soft compounds in the form of fine minced meat are obtained. With this deboning technology, not only meat gets into the minced meat, but also fat, skin, tendons, connective tissues, part of the bone mass.
I sincerely do not see why the manufacturer should not add more skins purchased separately or obtained by manual deboning, etc.
In the manufacture of sausages of lower grades (ІІ and ІІІ), it is allowed to use various offal (heart, brain, etc.), poultry meat (including mechanical deboning), buffaloes, etc.

Turn on logic. Meat on the market costs 50 UAH. In the manufacture of smoked sausage, for example, it will give a weight loss of up to 50%. If the sausage were made from pure meat, it would have to cost in retail (even taking into account the purchasing wholesale prices for meat): smoked up to 200 UAH, and boiled sausage about 120 UAH.

About what they shove into sausage, which is made according to TU ( specifications) that the manufacturer himself is developing and it’s scary to think. So, my friends in a sausage for 30-40 UAH from meat, most likely only the smell :)))
If you want, I can also tell you how and from what bread is baked now or how various cookies are made that cost 15-20-30 UAH each. per kg. But take my word for it, there is often the same fiction as meat in a sausage :)

Therefore, to say that McDonald's is SO harmful and at the same time to crush sausages / sausages, meat from the store, bread, cookies, vegetables from the market (when so many are grown using very intensive technologies) for both cheeks at least mmmmm ... .. I can’t choose an adequate word :))) (suggest your own option).

Everything that we eat today (well, almost everything) is harmful and few things are 100% natural.

Now back to Mac and his alleged GMO additives, etc., etc., etc.
All this, which everyone shouts about, is determined in the laboratory with the help of tests. If all this really took place today (some secret and / or super-harmful ingredients), it would have been published long ago, indicating the exact composition of the hamburger.

Yes, trite. Mac says we have pure meat in our burgers, right? If there was soy or not pure meat on the internet, there would have been a refutation for a long time indicating the exact composition. Has anyone seen such an article published by some laboratory? I personally don't. The same goes for GMOs.

Or do you think that there is an international conspiracy of laboratories? Do not publish Mac food tests? :))))

So I will disappoint you. Today, such equipment (suitable for conducting such tests) is available to ordinary amateurs. It can literally be assembled in the kitchen or in the garage. This is what hundreds if not thousands of people are doing today. And if one of them revealed something extraordinary in the Mac, all the newspapers and the Internet would have trumpeted about it.
Even more than that, the Russian First Channel sent a hamburger to 2 laboratories, which confirmed that there was pure meat in the cutlets (there was such a program, as far as I remember).

In addition, Mack honors the penal code's approval of national standards for the quality and content of food.
Therefore, if, for example, in the USA it is allowed to use GMOs, it will be quite possible in cutlets. If it is forbidden somewhere, it simply will not be there.

There is a lot of noise about Mac not listing the ingredients of their products. This is also not true.
He is obliged to indicate it according to the legislation of Ukraine and he does it.
McDonald's usually hang posters with detailed composition, it is also on Mac's website, you just have to choose a dish and click the "ingredients" button.

Here is the ingredients for the hamburger:
Bun (wheat boar, pitna water, white crystalline zucor, refined deodorized oliya sonyashnikova, yeast, kitchen strength, wheat gluten, soybean boar, emulsifier E472, antioxidant ascorbic acid), hamburger with yalovichini (yalovichina, kitchen strength, pepper chor chalking), marinated ogirok (ogirki, ocet, kitchen brine, calcium chloride emulsifier, sodium benzoate preservative, spices), tsibulya, gorchitsya (ocet, pitna water, gorchichny powder (13%), kitchen bril, spices, flavoring), ketchup (pitna water, tomato paste, spice sum for ketchup (soy oil, spice extract, fractionated coconut oil, cibula extract)).

Well, the last myth - if you eat at McDonald's, you can get fat. To some extent, this is also nonsense.
Mac just has VERY high-calorie food, that's all.

At the same time, the number of kcal is indicated on the boxes and packages in which the products are wrapped, it is also on the poster, as well as on the Mac website.
Let's calculate my usual entry into the Mac in kcal:
- Bigteysty - 860 kcal
- Standard potatoes - 350 kcal
- Filet-o-Fish - 350 kcal
- Sprite - 160 kcal
Total - 1720 kcal

The daily requirement of a man under the age of 40 who works in an office is 2800 kcal.
Thus, for my entry, I cracked 60% of my daily requirement.

If I have dinner in the same way and at least half breakfast, of course, I will be blown away and very quickly.
But I’ll be blown away in the same way if I start cracking any other high-calorie foods in the same quantities.

Same bowl pea soup for the first and buckwheat with a good chop for the second, they will give about the same amount of kcal as the described dinner in Mac.

Therefore, in order not to get fat you need:
a) eat less
b) move more
c) eat less

And if, with a normal diet, once or twice a week, go for a bite to eat at McDonald's, I don't think that you will be so noticeably "corrected" :)

About there, how they cook in Mac and how I already store food

Up
