50 g white chocolate

For the preparation of candied fruits and glazes

Wash kumquats and oranges thoroughly. Cut the kumquats into rings along with the peel. Remove bones. Finely grate orange zest, set aside. Squeeze orange juice from each orange separately. In a small metal saucepan fold the kumquats, cover with sugar and pour over the juice of one orange. Bring to a boil over low heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Then carefully remove the kumquats, put them on baking paper, save the syrup.

Preheat the oven to 180 C. Lubricate the form with a small amount of oil.

Beat butter, sugar and vanilla sugar white. Separate the whites from the yolks and lightly beat separately, then gently combine. Sift flour with salt and baking powder. Gradually add the flour and beaten eggs to the butter-sugar mixture one at a time, without stopping beating. Start and end with flour. When half of the whole egg mixture is mixed into the dough, add poppy seeds and zest. As soon as the flour is completely poured, stop beating. Add orange juice and half of the candied kumquats. Gently mix and put the dough into a mold and put in the oven for 40-50 minutes.

Remove the finished cake from the oven and let it cool in the mold for 30 minutes.
Heat the remaining kumquat syrup and dissolve the white chocolate in it.
Then remove the cake to a dish, with a long straw (Chinese stick is perfect) make holes in the cake along the entire length of the cake with an interval of 2 cm, 3 holes along the width of the cake. Spread the warm frosting evenly over the surface of the cake so that some of the frosting flows into the holes. Mask the holes with the remaining candied kumquats.
