The volume of oil production of the leading countries

The countries of the world, rich in oil and having serious reserves of this mineral, have a strong influence on the world economy, since oil producers around the world depend on regular supplies of hydrocarbon raw materials, without which the modern economy cannot exist. World oil refining and chemical production absorb truly colossal volumes of raw materials, and therefore the gas in the world is colossal.

The extraction of oil and natural gas for their subsequent export in many countries of the world brings the lion's share of budget revenues, in connection with which the oil and gas industry are the leading sectors of their economies.

In one day, about a hundred million barrels of "black gold" are produced in the world. The top three largest oil powers are the Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia and the United States of America. It is these three countries that supply 30 percent of all traded oil.

Volume of oil production by countries of the world

And in what other countries of the world are they engaged in such production, and how much oil do they supply to the market? Below we will consider the leading countries in oil production, starting from tenth place and up to the top three.

10th place. Venezuela

The daily volume of oil production in this country is 2.5 million barrels, which allows it to open the world TOP-10 in this area.

The Venezuelan economy is heavily dependent on hydrocarbon sales. Suffice it to say that 96% of exports are accounted for by this mineral. Venezuelan raw materials in the total volume of oil supplied to the market occupy 3.65% of it. But if we talk about the reserves of this energy resource, then here Venezuela is in first place in the world. According to experts, their level is about 46 billion tons.

9th place. United Arab Emirates

The UAE, which produces 2.7 million barrels per day, rightfully occupy this place of honor. The share of deliveries of hydrocarbon raw materials to the world markets is 3.81%.

The main deposits are located on the territory of the emirate of Abu Dhabi (about 95%), the remaining 5% are located in the emirates of Sharjah and Dubai. The total number of natural reserves of the UAE is estimated at 13 billion tons. The main importers of this mineral from the UAE are India, Thailand, Japan, Korea, China and Singapore.

In the oil market, Kuwait occupies 3.90%.

Kuwait's largest field is the Big Burgan, which accounts for half of all extracted raw materials. Another 50% is taken from such Kuwaiti deposits as Umm Gudair and Minagish, located in the south of Kuwait, and Sabriyah and Raudkhaiten, belonging to the northern part of Kuwait. Kuwait's main exports are to Morocco, Jordan, Syria, China and the United Arab Emirates.

7th. Iraq

The daily volume of oil produced in Iraq is 3 million barrels, which allows it to occupy a prominent place among the main producers of this raw material in the world.

Despite the difficult political situation, Iraq is gradually increasing the production of this raw material, since its economy is highly dependent on its exports. The revenue side of the Iraqi budget for 90% consists of proceeds from oil exports.

In the world of Iraqi hydrocarbons - approximately 4.24%.

The total reserve of untapped resources is 20 billion tons.

6th place. Iran

It delivers over three million barrels daily.

This is a Middle Eastern country - a major oil power, which has huge reserves of this useful energy resource. The main part of hydrocarbons is extracted here from fields located in the Persian Gulf basin. According to experts, already discovered Iranian deposits will last for almost ninety years, since their level is estimated at 21 billion tons. This is the third indicator in the world.

Percentage of Iran in the market of this energy resource is 4.25%.

The main importers are Japan, China, India, South Korea and Türkiye. Iran's export earnings are half of the proceeds from the sale of "black gold".

5th place. Canada

It also supplies more than three million barrels per day.

Canada opens the top five exporters of this product. The largest deposit of this mineral in Canada is located in the province of Alberta. Recently, Canada has become the largest supplier of hydrocarbon raw materials for its neighbors - the United States. More than 90% of Canadian crude hydrocarbons are exported here.

Saudi Arabia produces 10 million barrels of oil every day. The entire economy of this country rests precisely on the export of this mineral. Saudi Arabia sells oil to the countries of East Asia and the USA. From the sale of oil, this country receives about 90% of all profits. The share of supplied oil in the world market is 13.23%. 36.7 billion tons of the product remained in the bowels.

The leading country in terms of daily produced volumes and oil reserves is Russia. More than 10 million barrels of black gold are mined here every day. 13.92% is the share of Russian oil produced in the world market.

Types of oil, and countries producing them

Black gold may differ in quality, composition and the presence of various additives. Therefore, the division of oil into several types is a prerequisite for trading this mineral.

The most popular brand of oil is called Brent. Its price is fundamental for 70% of all volumes of oil produced. This oil has been produced since 1976 in the Norwegian Sea. This brand received its name, Brent, by the name of all five layers with deposits of this fossil. This brand is in high demand primarily due to its low sulfur content.

In the US, the most common brand of oil is WTI. It practically does not differ in its properties and quality from Brent, only the sulfur content is 0.5%. Most of this oil is used to make gasoline. That is why this brand has an increased demand in the markets of the USA and China.

On the territory of Russia, oil is produced, which is called Urals. It is mined in Siberia, Far East and in the northern parts of the Russian Federation. These regions are rich in sufficiently high-quality oil. Most of the black gold is exported abroad through the pipes of Transneft. Also, this brand of oil has a small subspecies called Siberian Light. In this product, the proportion of sulfur content does not exceed 0.57%. It should be noted that all three grades of oil produced in Russia are directly related to Brent prices.

The Arabic type of Arab Light oil is also in demand on the world market. The cost of this product depends on the quotations of the WTI brand. The Saudi Aramco mining company provides good discounts on oil to Asian and European countries.

Every day, the world's largest oil producers extract about 100 million barrels of minerals from the fields. The leading oil powers are Russia, Saudi Arabia and the United States. It is they who provide the world market with 39% black gold.

The TOP 10 included leading countries in oil production over the past year.

The total volume of its proven reserves is over 14 billion tons. More than 10 million barrels per day are extracted from fields every day, and this volume is constantly growing. As a percentage of world oil production, the share of the Russian Federation is 13.92%.

Russia occupies an honorable first place among the countries producing oil. More than 10,124,000 barrels are produced daily on the territory of the Russian Federation. According to some reports, the remaining oil reserves do not exceed 50 billion barrels. More than 12% of all oil produced in the world is produced in Russia.

2. Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia is the world's second largest oil producing country.

Saudi Arabia produces just over 10 million barrels per day. To date, this country is the largest exporter of oil. According to some reports, a fifth of all the remaining oil in the world lies in the lands of Saudi Arabia.

3. USA

The USA takes an honorable third place. According to experts, 21 billion barrels of oil lie in the lands of the United States. About 9.6 million barrels are produced daily in the United States, which is approximately 11% of all oil produced.

4. China

About 5% of the world's oil is produced in China. This is approximately 4.3 million barrels per day. The country's total reserve is just over 20 billion barrels.

5. Iran

9. Brazil

The country has over 8.5 billion oil reserves, while producing just over 2.5 million barrels per day. In Brazil, the richest oil field is called Tupi oil Field.

10. Kuwait

In this country, oil is produced at almost the same pace as in Brazil. The country is in no hurry to produce oil in large volumes. Producing just under 2.5 million barrels per day, the country knows total reserves are in excess of 104 billion barrels.

Results:

Russia, which officially refused to export oil and produces it at the fastest pace, has almost the highest prices for gasoline. It's no secret that in many countries, including the UAE, the cost of high-quality gasoline does not exceed 3-6 rubles per liter. And only in our country, gasoline is not of the proper quality, it costs more than 25 rubles per liter, and besides, at gas stations they manage to dilute it and even brazenly not top it up. The cost of gasoline in Russia is much lower. After all, more than 60% of the final cost is dues, taxes and excises.

The greatest country in the world has one of the world's largest potentials of the most important fuel and energy resources, including oil. The country, which occupies 13% of the entire planet, contains more than 6% of all explored reserves of black gold in the world. At the same time, the annual production of crude oil in the Russian Federation is more than 12% of the total world production. In terms of proven oil reserves, only such countries as Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Venezuela are ahead of Russia.

Oil, as well as its processing, is the basic sector of the entire Russian economy. Oil and refined products of black gold are the most important export resource of Russia. Every year the country exports about 200 million tons of crude oil and this figure is constantly increasing.

WHICH COMPANIES EXTRACT

More than 240 enterprises are engaged in oil production in our country, and more than 95% of the total production is provided by 11 oil holdings.

Thus, the leading oil companies are Rosneft, TNK-BP and Lukoil. The leading companies in terms of black gold production are Tatneft named after V.D. Shashin, Orenburgneft" and "Samotlorneftegaz".

MAIN DEPOSITS

About 80% of oil and gas is now produced in those fields that have been known since the times of the USSR, but the active search for new fields, as well as the improvement of production technology, continues all the time.

The main center of the Russian oil industry in our time is Western Siberia. More than 65% of all Russian oil is produced here. And the main oil-producing region of Western Siberia is the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra (80% of the black gold of the entire macro-region). The Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug is the second in terms of oil production in Western Siberia. Large-scale oil production is also carried out in the Tomsk region.

In the European part of the Russian Federation, a little more than 30% of oil is produced. The main volume is mined in the Volga region - the Republics of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, in the Samara region. Another major oil-producing region in the European part of the country is the Urals (mainly the Orenburg region and the Perm Territory).

Oil production is also carried out in the Eastern Siberia macroregion: Krasnoyarsk region, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Irkutsk region. By the way, according to the conclusions of geologists, this particular macroregion is the most promising in terms of finding new oil fields. Over the entire history of the development of the oil complex of Eastern Siberia, the confirmation of the discovery of exact deposits during the drilling of structures is 26%.

Also, since the last century, oil has been produced in the North Caucasus (Grozny and Maykop oil and gas regions - the Republics of Chechnya and Adygea).

SALES MARKET

Europe remains the main market dependent on Russian oil. Yes, today at European countries more than 90% of all Russian oil exports are sent. This assessment also includes the markets of Western Europe, and the countries of the Mediterranean coast, and the CIS countries.

In turn, the supply of black gold to the market of the Asia-Pacific region is gradually increasing. Oil deliveries to China prevail here, which provide the main increase. Oil supplies to the US do not play a significant role.

Europe will remain the main market for Russian oil in the future. Yes, Russia plans to increase the supply of raw materials to European countries, but by increasing oil production, it is also planned to strengthen the position of our state in the markets of the Asia-Pacific region and the United States.

HOW MUCH OIL IS IN RUSSIA

There are different ratings. There are oil resources - this is all the oil stored in the Russian subsoil. Most of the resources (90%) are classified as non-recoverable. The rest is oil reserves. Some of these reserves have been explored, some have not. If we talk about explored reserves, their volume, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources, for 2014 amounted to 18 billion tons - we are talking about deposits that have been explored by drilling. There is also a category of sites where the presence of oil is confirmed not by drilling, but by scientific calculations. Calculations give a less accurate estimate of the possible volumes of oil. According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, almost 11 billion tons can be mined in such areas. According to British Petroleum (their annual review is considered the most authoritative source of information on world oil reserves), proven oil reserves in Russia amount to 12.7 billion tons.

HOW LONG IS THE STOCK?

It depends on mining technologies. The fact is that it is easier to extract oil from some fields, and more difficult from others. The share of hard-to-recover oil is large - according to some estimates, it is 60% of all reserves. Ordinary oil will last at least another 10 years, if the current level of production - about 500 million tons per year - is maintained. This is the assessment of the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources Sergey Donskoy. If during this time the oil companies master the "difficult" fields, they will be enough for 30 years of annual production of half a billion.

WILL 30 YEARS PASS AND THE OIL WILL END?

No. Oil reserves are constantly replenished. Recently, in Russia, every year the increase exceeds production. For example, in 2013, 523 million tons were mined, and 688 million were explored. In May 2014, the Ministry of Natural Resources promised that by 2020 the reserves would increase by 6 billion tons. True, part of this replenishment (about 20%) occurs only on paper - due to the recalculation of the oil recovery factor for each field. Another 15-20% increase is due to the discovery of new deposits. Basically, the reserves are replenished by refining old fields - modern technologies make it possible to discover oil that could not be found before. According to the head of Rosnedra Valery Pak, such a refinement of old deposits with modern technologies may take another 5-10 years.

HOW MANY ELSE UNKNOWN DEPOSITS ARE IN RUSSIA?

Unknown. Rosnedra officials say oil companies are not investing heavily in exploration. According to former head departments of Alexander Popov, over the past 20 years in Russia, not a single new oil production area has been prepared. From 2010 to 2012, drilling began to decrease by 25%. At the same time, the Russian authorities are constantly fighting for the expansion of the continental shelf, where oil can also be produced. In 2014, the UN approved an application for an enclave in the Sea of Okhotsk - now the shelf in this area is considered Russian. In the spring of 2015, Russia applied to expand its shelf in the Arctic. According to preliminary estimates, this shelf may contain about 5 billion tons of reference fuel. What proportion of this volume is oil - is unknown.

DOES RUSSIA EXTRACT HARD OIL?

They get it, but not much. This process has just begun. By 2020, the Ministry of Energy expects that the share of hard-to-recover oil will be 11% of all production. For comparison: in the US in 2012, this share was one third of the oil produced. The Ministry of Natural Resources and other departments say that earlier oilmen simply did not have incentives to engage in expensive development of hard-to-reach deposits - conventional sources were enough. For companies that are engaged in the development of "difficult" reserves, tax breaks are provided, but Rosnedra believes that existing system taxation does not stimulate business enough.

IS IT LEFT TO MASTER THE TECHNOLOGY OF RECOVERY OF "HARD" OIL?

No. This is not the only difficulty. At the beginning of 2015, Rosnedra named a number of problems that prevent replenishment of oil reserves. With low world prices for raw materials, with declining demand, it is difficult for oil companies to find resources for the extraction of hard-to-recover oil. There are also political factors - due to sanctions, some Russian oil companies are now unable to take loans abroad and invest these funds in development. In addition, some companies are cut off from the supply of foreign equipment for the extraction of hard-to-recover oil. The ministry also talks about internal Russian problems - in particular, the lack of liberality of legislation. Rosnedra believes that companies should be allowed to search where they see fit, and allowed to decide with minimal state intervention what to do with open deposits - sell or develop.
