There are many known divisions of the planets within the cosmogram. They are grouped:

The word planet is of Greek origin. It means "wandering" in translation. Since ancient times, people observing celestial objects have paid attention to some of them. These were stars that changed their position in relation to the fixed constellations, moving from one to another along a bizarre trajectory.
At first, 7 such planets were discovered, and their number also included the Sun and the Moon. These were Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Later, the list was replenished with Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, located beyond Saturn. The 10 listed planets are the main tools in the work of astrologers. In addition to them, some asteroids, 2 points of the lunar orbit and fictitious points like the North and South Nodes of the Moon, where the Moon's orbit crosses the ecliptic, are taken into account in the compilation of the horoscope. The North Node is called the Dragon's Head and the South Node is the Dragon's Tail. Lunar points include the Black Moon or Lilith, and Selene, the White Moon. Asteroids, whose location is taken into account by astrologers: Chiron, located between the orbits of Uranus and Saturn, Ceres, Vesta, Pandora, Icarus, Juno, Hidalgo, Sappho and Eros, Hidalgo and Pallas.
Classification of planets depending on their movement
If you carefully follow the movements of the planets from the Earth, you will notice how the movement of some of them gradually slows down, then the planets stop and begin to reverse movement. The reason for this phenomenon is that the planets move around the sun at different speeds. The direction of movement of the planet is of great importance, since with this or that movement its properties manifest themselves in different ways.
As it moves forward through the constellation, the planet exerts its usual outward influence. Moving in the right direction through the signs of the Zodiac, it manifests its natural properties and everything that it affects develops normally. Direct traffic has not received any designation in the maps.
If from the Earth it seems that the planet is moving in the opposite direction to the natural, there is a retrograde planet. It is symbolized by the letter "R". Indicates a turn inward, introversion, immersion in the depths of the subconscious.

But our dark ancestors understood the stars better and noticed that their bulk moves in the same way, as if “in line”, making revolutions around the earthly observer over and over again , but some outstanding stars have their own will and move as they please, relative to the general star background. These are the planets. At first glance, they are free, like gods, and it is no coincidence that they were given the names of gods.
In astrological terminology, the Sun and the Moon are also called planets, although their role has always been special: they are still luminaries. In total, seven traditional planets are obtained - the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. These planets are called traditional because they have been used in astrological practice since ancient times.
With the invention of the telescope, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto joined this company. Then planetoids, asteroids and all other exotic things were used.
Some astrologers believe that the more different factors they use in their work, the more information they will receive. However, those areas of astrology that are known for their high efficiency in solving everyday human problems - namely, Indian and European medieval astrology - use only seven traditional planets. After all, the point is not in the amount of information, but in the ability to comprehend, interpret, and benefit from it.

Now all the same about the role of planets in astrology. They are definitely the main characters, since the entire interpretation of the horoscope is built around the planets. It should be borne in mind that the astrological planets are not at all the same as the planets of the solar system. Astrological planets are some higher principles that are reflected differently in different projections of the Macrocosm. For example, the astrological Sun is represented in nature by metallic gold, in the state - by the highest ruler, and in the solar system - by the astronomical Sun, our luminary. It has an immense number of other projections in all conceivable and inconceivable microcosms. If we philosophize a little and imagine the world as a reflection of some unknowable Absolute, then the astrological planets are the attributes of the Absolute, roughly speaking, its arms and legs, and therefore are just as vast and unknowable as the Absolute.
However, these are all high matters, and we came to astrology to practice. How, on a practical level, to explain to a student of astrology what, say, the astrological Sun is and how to interpret it in working with a horoscope? To state all the possible manifestations of the Sun is unrealistic. But you can give a lot different values so that a person can form for himself some abstract principle that is reflected in them. This is the approach that Biruni follows in his book - he gives multi-page lists of correspondences for different planets. Nowadays, this approach is usually represented by lists of keywords. I will also present you with entire tables with keywords for the planets, developed by me several years ago under the guidance of Avgustina Filippovna Semenko (Augustina Semenko - a famous Russian astrologer; Alexander Kolesnikov - the author of this lecture on the planets - her student, approx. E.L.).
Another approach is to try to verbalize the basic idea behind the planetary principle and illustrate it with two or three examples. Of course, this idea will express the vast essence of the planet in a very limited way, but it is usually sufficient to plant a seed of understanding in the student's mind. And then, in practice, he will grow and develop his own creative understanding of the principles of the planets. This method can be called the method of storytelling, as opposed to the method of keywords alone.
I understand that to a rational person all this sounds completely unscientific. However, because astrology was often called Art, because the method of "stick and rope", native and beloved for modern materialistic science, is of little use in it. Successful work requires a depth of understanding and practical experience.
I will try to tell you my understanding of the planets by the method of a story, and then give multifaceted tables of keywords - just in case.

Planets can be divided into several groups: luminaries, personal planets, social planets and higher planets.
The luminaries - the Sun and the Moon - play an important role in the study of the horoscope, they give a general, global description of a person and his life.
Personal planets characterize Firstly personality traits: perception of information, likes and dislikes, etc. Of course, they also contribute to, say, a person's social orientation, but they play a primary role precisely as representatives of the individual.
The social orientation of a person, his attitude to society as a whole and to its various layers in particular, is reflected primarily by the social planets - Jupiter and Saturn. Close in meaning (and in terms of speed of movement) to these planets are the Lunar nodes, which, although they are not planets, are among the most important factors in the horoscope.
The higher planets - Uranus, Neptune and Pluto - should be treated differently in astrology. After all, it is not for nothing that they were discovered much later than the traditional Septener planets. The higher planets show something beyond the limits of ordinary human life. These are either very large-scale processes of a national scale, which ordinary people cannot influence, or deep mental phenomena, which, as a rule, are also beyond the control of ordinary consciousness.

At the level of lofty-theoretical, the Sun, this spiritual, physical and energy center of our local cosmos, is compared with the Divine principle in man, with the Spark of God or, in the language of the occultists, a monad. In fact, there must be something very powerful, capable of organizing inert dead matter by its influence, breathing life into it, giving reason and the ability to create.
On another level, the Sun symbolizes the source of creativity in man. People in whom the principle of the Sun is manifested most prominently do not want to lead a routine existence. They want to be creators like God in the area of life that fascinates them the most, arrange everything according to their own understanding, be themselves, and not imitate others. On the contrary, the surrounding people strive to follow them, since the representatives of the Sun spread some creative radiation around themselves, infecting others with their interest in creation.

After the flight of the Voyager 2 spacecraft, it became known that in the atmosphere of Neptune, like Jupiter, there is an formation that looks like a huge spot. Jupiter calls it the Great Red Spot and Neptune the Great Dark Spot. Neptune and Jupiter are somehow connected, both of these planets are "labeled". Various sources contradict each other somewhat, but the general picture is this: an American astronomer named Percival Lovell calculated the orbit of the alleged planet, but despite all attempts, it could not be detected. Already after Lovell's death, astronomer Clyde Tombaugh of the Lovell Observatory, studying the photographs of the starry sky, made in accordance with Lovell's calculations, discovered heavenly body later named Pluto. This "post-mortem" shade is quite characteristic of the understanding of Pluto in astrology.
After the discovery took place and the parameters of the orbit and the mass of the new planet were estimated, astronomers were perplexed. A planet with such a small mass (several hundred times less than that of the Earth) and so far located (twice as far from the Sun as Uranus) simply could not have any significant effect on the movement of Uranus. In addition, there is an opinion that its orbit is chaotic and in general can hardly be determined with acceptable accuracy. So how then was Pluto calculated?
As the new planet was explored, it turned out that it had a satellite, called Charon. Moreover, it is so large (only half the size of Pluto itself) and so close to Pluto (at a distance of less than ten Pluto diameters) that together they actually form a double planet. It is believed that "Pluto-Charon" is very different in composition from all previous planets, starting with Saturn and ending with Neptune - it is a stone core covered with water and methane ice. But they - a planet and a satellite - are very similar to numerous small planet-like objects located at about the same distance from the Sun and forming the so-called Kuiper belt. Pluto and Charon are, as it were, more prominent representatives of this numerous army of celestial bodies.
The mythological Pluto is the god of the underworld, and if you try to project mythical spaces onto the reality of our world, it corresponds to the inner region of the globe, mysterious, unexplored, containing energy that can move continents and turn the bottom of the seas into mountain ranges. Very often, Pluto plays an important role in the most powerful earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
Pluto is also associated with the energy of organized human masses. The image to which these masses rush is associated with Neptune, but their immeasurable power, which allows them to create grandiose cultural monuments or destroy entire civilizations, is one of the incarnations of Pluto. Its image is especially noticeable in mass organizations, whose members wear a uniform, and this is seen as an analogy with the Kuiper belt - a multitude of small space objects, homogeneous in composition.

It is no exaggeration to say that one of the most powerful forces in our world, and perhaps the most powerful, is money.
