New: competition

Added the ability to take part in competitive game events directly in the game client. Current events can be found in the combat missions interface in a separate “Competitions” tab.
- For a player participating in a game event, statistics are available based on his best results, as well as a detailed table with the leaders of the competition. Thanks to this, you will be able to evaluate your own progress in the event and compare your progress with the best players.
- Criteria for determining the best players may vary for different events. Detailed rules will be specified in the regulations of each competition.
- Competitions can either require pre-registration from participants, or be held without it. It will be possible to apply and participate in the event without leaving the game.
- Battles for participation in the competition are counted based on the statistics of battles in the Random Battle mode (for the first time, new battle modes, such as General Battles, will not count towards the game event). There may be additional restrictions in the competition: playing solo or in a platoon, counting battles only within certain prime time and game servers, as well as vehicle restrictions.
- A special notice will appear in the Garage that will help you sort out the competitions.
- During the public test, you will be able to take part in two test competitions - neither the settings, nor the images, nor the awards in them are final. The first tournament will be held for Tier X vehicles of the USSR and Great Britain, and the second one for Tier VIII vehicles of the same nations. To participate in the event, you will need to register and play at least two battles at the selected level of one nation.

General changes

Changed the text on the back button of the order form.

The button in the "Return order form" task card now says "Improve result".
The status in the task card is now also called "Improved result", and not "Return order form".

An issue with navigating through operations on the map of personal combat missions has been fixed.
The number of tasks in the "Tasks Shown" filter, "Tasks" tab, is now displayed correctly.
The map interface for personal combat missions now loads correctly.
An empty congratulatory window for completed tasks no longer appears.
Tooltips for badges of excellence are now displayed correctly.

Balancer improvements

Now the balancer additionally tries to balance each part of the team's list (bottom, middle and top), taking into account the features and roles of vehicles within types: the Maus tank is opposed to the Maus, Type 5 Heavy or E 100; tank T57 Heavy - AMX 50B and so on. However, in some situations there will be no symmetrical balance in terms of playing roles - for example, if vehicles with different roles are in a platoon.

Declination angle of the OQF 32-pdr Gun Mk. II in the Conqueror Mk. II increased from -7 to -10 degrees.

Turret armor has been changed.

The maximum forward speed has been reduced from 50 to 40 km/h.

The dispersion of the gun from the movement of the Super Conqueror chassis has been reduced by 25%.

The test version of the game exists so that players can try out a future patch and, if possible, notice all the errors and bugs so that developers can fix them before the patch is released.

Everything is quite simple here - you just need to download the test client installer on the official website of the game or from our website (link at the end of the article), wait for the installation and log in under your name.

By the way, every player who gets on the test server gets to use 20k gold, 100m free xp and silver per account so that everyone can try any tank in the game. After the test server closes, all gold, experience and money will disappear, and the account statistics will remain the same - the test does not affect it at all, it works like a separate game.

What changes will be in the new patch 0.9.20?

The most important update will be a branch of new Swedish tanks: a mixed and full-fledged branch of tank destroyers with unique vehicles at the top levels. Many Tier VIII prem tanks will be upgraded. Please note: the list is not final. We will publish the final information just before the release of the update.

So, supertest version 9.20 will become available today. The update will take into account your feedback on the stun mechanic and revision of the research tree, and will also add a 30 vs 30 format to Random Battles. And new Chinese tank destroyers will also appear at the supertest.

The supertest is conducted at the earliest stages of development - usually a month and a half before the release of the update - and it is designed to check changes, as well as to find critical bugs before the public testing stage. Supertests in World of Tanks are divided into technical tests (new maps, vehicle balance, etc.) and version tests (update integrity).

When the supertest stage is completed, the general tests begin, where any player can evaluate the changes.

Vehicle rebalance

SPG class changes

Improvements to the ACS have continued since the release of update 9.18. We have been analyzing your feedback and statistics of the changes that have taken place for several months. And now we will make a number of improvements to make the gameplay more comfortable both for players on the SPG and for other participants in the battles.

The increased shard radius resulted in situations where a player who thought they were safe in cover would still take damage. To prevent such cases, we have improved the mechanics of damage and stun calculation by adding a number of additional parameters when shooting through obstacles:

  • You don't have to worry about artillery fire if the building (destructible or indestructible) that is used for shelter is 2 m or more thick, and your vehicle is completely covered behind it. You will be safe there: your car will not take damage and will not be stunned.
  • A vehicle standing behind a fence or a small structure less than 2m thick will take damage and be stunned, as it would be in an open area.
  • The third scenario: the building is solid (2 m or more), but the car is not completely hidden behind it (for example, the stun occurred at the time of arrival behind the shelter). In this case, the duration of the stun and the damage will depend on which part of the vehicle was hit. Depending on the area under fire, the vehicle will receive:
    • 25% of total damage and stun time;
    • 50% of total damage and stun time;
    • 75% of total damage and stun time;
    • 100% total damage and stun duration.

We will make changes to the interface of post-battle messages: in order to fully display the combat effectiveness of the player, information about the total time of the stun inflicted will be shown in the battle results.

Chinese tank destroyers

Nine Chinese tank destroyers are already warming up their engines and ready to prove themselves on the battlefield! Yes, we are talking about a branch of technology that was released on the Chinese servers a few months ago. Now this branch of cars will be available to all players.

New format in Random Battle mode

Would you like to test your gaming skills in a fight other than 15 vs 15? Well, you will soon have such an opportunity. In update 9.20, the game will become available new type battle called "General Battle" in the format "30 vs 30". 60 players will fight on the new 1.4x1.4 km Nebelburg map, created specifically for this type of combat.

Grand Battle is exclusive to Tier X vehicles. This type is based on the standard rules of the game: capturing the enemy base or destroying all of his vehicles. The number of self-propelled guns is limited to 4 vehicles per team to ensure a comfortable gameplay for all types of vehicles. "General battle" is similar to the meeting battle and assault - it can be turned on or off in the game settings.

The test server in World of Tanks 1.6 is a regular server where new maps, features, tanks and other innovations of the game are tested. It is impossible to get to the WOT test server when the player wants it - it opens only at a certain time when the game developers will need it.

What is a test server and why is it needed?

Test server is a repository where a copy is stored and reproduced, but with some changes. Of course, before making any changes to the game, they must first be tested.
The first ones see the changes in the staff of WOT developers, then they give access to super-testers. If there are shortcomings, then they are corrected and the version of the new client is tested already under load. They “upload” the test version of the client to the backup server and open access for everyone. Again, the development staff is looking for errors and shortcomings. After - fix and "roll out" new version client.

How to get to the WOT test server

To get to the test server, you need to download a special installer 1.6 or install Wargaming Game Center. After that run it. He will offer to download a test client - download it and install it. Next folder will be created. World_of_Tanks_CT(in the directory where the player specified during installation).
