Strong prayer of patience. Prayers for Patience Prayer for Patience

Detailed description from several sources: "a prayer that gives strength and patience" - in our non-profit weekly religious magazine.

Through prayer, you can get what you want only if your desire is strong and faith is strong. Don't let doubt weaken your faith.

ask earnestly sincerely and the way will be opened.

Some prayers that give strength act in conjunction with talismans and amulets.

Prayer for the healing of the soul

my defense is weak - strengthen it;

my soul is sick - heal it.

“Bless me with the peace of a happy home. Protect us from all dangers and misfortunes. We believe in You, We know that You take care of everything in the world. Your will governs everything. Your love protects everything. Protect me from evil deeds. Let the law of good govern my life and control everything I say and do. Give us your full blessing.”

“Drive out all the bitterness that is within me, show me how to show love and concern for those who are far away. May I always love and protect those close to my heart. Bring them to my love. May I touch with generous kindness to all whom I meet.

“Reach out your hands and protect me from unnecessary worries in this life. Make my enemies powerless, unable to hurt, destroy and inflict evil on those who started under Your protection. I call on You with all my heart and look forward to Your consolation.”

“Take my hands, Lord, breathe strength into them to fulfill the tasks and duties of this day, overcome my weakness, gain clarity of thought and manifest my abilities. Let me gain the faith to stick to what is best for my work, leisure, and life.”

Protective Prayer

“I beg You to protect me and lend a helping hand in my travels. Bring me what is mine and bless me with the fruits of my labor. Give me some of the gifts of the earth, improve the conditions of my life. Give me confidence in Your protection, protect me from those who want to harm my body or my property.

“Remove from me any intention to do evil, all destructive signs. Replace them with truth and kindness. Breathe wisdom into me, from which I will receive strength of character, calm confidence and devoted friendship. Let me use knowledge to win a devoted friend.

“I ask that my eyes be opened to those things that before I was not able to see or understand. Guide my steps in the right direction so that the bumpy road becomes smooth and safe to travel. Protect my body from evil forces and my thoughts from immorality, remove sin from my soul. Give me the correct answer. Make sure that I understand and accept the solution that You offer to deal with my problem. Take my lips and speak through them, take my head and think through it, take my heart and fill it with the love and kindness that I want to pour out on those around me.”

“Give me justice, compassion and forgiveness in my dealings with the authorities. Judge me with the kindness with which I treat others. Impose on all courts the spirit of wisdom and understanding, so that they may discern the truth and act impartially according to the law.”

“I pray that there will be distance between me and my enemy. I handle with humility so that we can be separated from one another. Remove this enemy so that peace reigns in my house and heart. I think about the world that will come to me.

“Be with me and support me with Your presence. Be my friend and refresh my soul. Send me clarity of mind, peace of mind and faith to have patience and great unceasing love going into and out of my heart. Show me the purpose of my life, give me courage and perseverance to achieve the goal that You have entrusted to me.

Prayer for every day for purity of thoughts

“Help me to be kind in words and generous in deeds. Help me to forget myself and turn my love and affection to those around me. Make me beautiful in soul, clear and pure in thoughts, beautiful and strong in body. Increase my powers of body and spirit to direct them to those whom I call upon. I am grateful for all that I have received on this day and for the love for others that You have placed in my heart.”

“Be with me on this day and help fill my head with bright thoughts, my body with harmless habits and my soul with an innocent spirit. Help me control my desires for those foods that are harmful to my body, thoughts, soul, or life itself. I am confident in Your help. With this help, I will overcome all the temptations of this day.”

To whom to pray for ailments

For healing from ailments, you must first believe success. Even the most best prayer will not be effective if you read it automatically, without a soul. Who is usually prayed to for various illnesses? If children are sick, they resort to prayer to the Mother of God and to Barbara the Great Martyr. Women who dream of children can pray to Sergei Sarovsky. Also, for healing, they turn to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, the Mother of God, the healer Panteleimon, Christ.

Prayers for Patience

Praise be to Thee, Father of Mercy and God of all comfort, that Thou never leaves Thy sufferers without visitation and consolation. Punish - you punish them, but you do not put them to death; although you are often their hidden God, you are their Savior. Imprint this consolation, O Lord, in my heart and show it true over me when disaster is near, but there is no helper. Be my light when I sit in darkness; make the knowledge of my sins and what they deserve produce in me true humility and patience. Strengthen, when trouble comes, faith in me, as in Jacob, so that I fight and do not let You go until You bless me. Make sure that I do not run away from You in suffering, O my Shepherd, but that my vigor increases and I become more zealous for Your prayer and praise. Open my mind so that I may understand the Scriptures, learn from it Thy ways, and in true silence of heart, completely and completely surrender to Thee, through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord! Amen.

Father of mercy and God of all comfort! I call on you in the name of Jesus Christ to grant me true Christian patience. Arm me with it against every tribulation, so that I may be patient in it, for it is very precious. Make me ready to take up the cross of Christ upon myself, bear it patiently, and stand firmly under it to the end. Cast away from me every grumbling and every annoyance of the flesh at the weight of the cross and the duration of its time. Appear, O beloved Jesus, with Your patience under the cross and on the cross, appear before my eyes and my heart, so that by contemplating You I may be encouraged and strengthened to constantly endure everything. Do it, O patient Savior, so that I do not become weary in my spirit, but in patience, let me enter through suffering and sorrow into the Kingdom of God. I need to have patience so that, having done the will of God, I can receive the promise. I ask him from You, deign to fulfill my petition!

Satisfy the illnesses of my many-sighing soul, which has quenched every tear from the face of the earth: You drive away people's illnesses and resolve sinful sorrows, for you gain all hope and affirmation, Blessed Mother Virgin! You intercede to all, Good, resorting with faith to Your sovereign cover: otherwise, the imams are not sinners to God in troubles and sorrows for ever deliverance, burden the sins of many, Mother of God the Most High! We fall down the same to Thee: deliver Thy servants from every circumstance! No one who flows to You is put to shame and proceeds from You, most pure Mother of God Virgin: but asks for grace and accepts the gift for a useful petition. Fulfill, Pure, joy my heart, Your imperishable joy, giving birth to Guilty joy! Fill my heart with joy, Devo, who accepts fulfillment of joy, consumes sinful sorrow!

Lord, hear my prayer, give ear to my prayer in Thy truth, hear me in Thy righteousness, and enter not into judgment with Thy servant, for no one living is justified before Thee. As if the enemy chased my soul, humbled my stomach to eat in the ground, planted me to eat in dark, like dead centuries. And my spirit is in me, my heart is troubled in me. I remember the days of old, learn from all your deeds, learn from your hand in creation. Lift up my hands to Thee, my soul, as the earth is waterless to Thee. Hear me soon, O Lord, my spirit is gone; Turn not away Your face from me, and I will be like those who go down into the pit. I hear, do me Thy mercy in the morning, as if on Thee hopes. Tell me, O Lord, I will go the way, for I have taken my soul to Thee. Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord, I have resorted to You. Teach me to do Your will, as You are my God. Your Good Spirit will guide me to the land of right. For Thy name's sake, O Lord, live me, in Thy righteousness bring my soul out of sorrow. And by Thy mercy consume my enemies and destroy all the aching souls of my soul, as I am Thy servant.

The healing power of prayer

Believers are well aware that prayer is uplifting. As they would say in modern parlance, it "improves the quality of life." Data of many scientific research(conducted by both Christian and atheist experts) showed that people who pray regularly and with concentration feel better both physically and mentally.

Prayer is our conversation with God. If communication with friends and loved ones is important for our well-being, then communication with God is our best, most loving friend- immeasurably more important. Indeed, his love for us is truly boundless.

Prayer helps us deal with feelings of loneliness. In fact, God is always with us (the Scripture says: “I am with you all the days until the end of the age”), that is, in fact, we are never alone, without His presence. But we tend to forget the presence of God in our lives. Prayer helps us "bring God into our home." It connects us to the Almighty God who loves us and wants to help us.

Prayer, in which we thank God for what he sends us, helps us to see the good around us, develop an optimistic outlook on life and overcome despondency. It develops a grateful attitude towards life, as opposed to the eternally dissatisfied, demanding attitude that is the foundation of our unhappiness.

Prayer, in which we tell God about our needs, also has an important function. In order to tell God about our problems, we have to sort them out, sort them out, and, above all, admit to ourselves that they exist. After all, we can only pray for those problems that we have recognized as existing.

Denial of one's own problems (or shifting them “from a sick head to a healthy one”) is a very widespread (and one of the most harmful and ineffective) way of “fighting” with difficulties. For example, the typical alcoholic always denies that drinking has become main problem his life. He says: “Nothing, I can stop drinking at any time. Yes, and I drink no more than others ”(as a drunkard said in a popular operetta,“ I drank just a little bit ”). Far less serious problems than drunkenness are also denied. You can easily find many examples of denial of the problem in the lives of your friends and relatives, and even in your own life.

When we bring our problem to God, we are forced to acknowledge it in order to talk about it. Recognizing and identifying a problem is the first step towards solving it. It is also a step towards truth. Prayer gives us hope and comfort; we acknowledge the problem and “surrender” it to the Lord.

During prayer, we show the Lord our own "I", our personality, as it is. In front of other people, we may try to pretend, to look better or different; before God, we do not need to behave like this, because He sees through us. Pretense is absolutely useless here: we enter into frank communication with God as a unique, one-of-a-kind person, discarding all tricks and conventions and revealing ourselves. Here we can afford the "luxury" to be completely ourselves and thus provide ourselves with the possibility of spiritual and personal growth.

Prayer gives us confidence, brings a sense of well-being, a sense of strength, removes fear, helps to cope with panic and longing, supports us in grief.

Anthony of Surozh invites beginners to pray the following short prayers (for one week each):

Help me, O God, to free myself from every false image of Yours, no matter what the cost.

Help me, God, to leave all my worries and focus all my thoughts on You alone.

Help me, God, to see my own sins, never judge my neighbor, and all glory be to You!

Into Your hands I commit my spirit; not my will be done, but yours.

Prayer of Ignatius Brianchaninov for patience

Lord, You visit, receive sinners! And you raise the dead! And you command the waters of the sea, the winds of the sky! And miraculously loaves grow in Your hands, give a thousandfold harvest - they are sown, reaped, baked and broken at the same time, in one instant! And you are hungry to save us from hunger! And you long for our thirst to go away! And you travel through the country of our exile with the burden of Yourself in order to return to us the calm, sweet heavenly nature that we have lost! You shed Your sweat in the Garden of Gethsemane so that we stop shedding our sweat in earning bread, learn to shed it in prayers for a worthy communion of Heavenly Bread. The thorns that the accursed earth has grown for us, You took on Your head; Thou hast crowned Thy holy head with thorns! We have lost the Paradise tree of life and its fruit, which communicated immortality to those who eat it - You, sprawling on the tree of the Cross, have become for us a fruit that gives eternal life to Your partakers. Both the fruit of life and the tree of life appeared on earth, in the camp of our exile. This fruit and this tree are more excellent than those of Paradise: those communicated immortality, and these communicate immortality and Divinity. Through Your suffering You have poured sweetness into our suffering. We reject earthly pleasures, we choose suffering as our lot, if only to become partakers of Your sweetness! She, like a foretaste of eternal life, is sweeter and more precious than temporary life! You fell asleep as a mortal who could not keep You in eternal sleep. You - God! You have risen and granted us awakening from this sleep, from the fierce sleep of death, granted us a blessed and glorious resurrection! You raised our renewed nature to heaven, planted it at the right hand of the eternal, Your co-eternal, Your Father! Our Lord! Grant us both on earth and in heaven to glorify, bless, praise Your goodness! Grant us with an open face to see Your terrible, impregnable, magnificent Glory, forever see Her, worship Her and be blessed in Her. Amen.

“Let the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ” (2 Thess. 3:5).

The above text invites us to reflect on one of the most touching prayers of St. Paul: "May the Lord direct your hearts ... into the patience of Christ" I do not know if prayer has ever been more timely for all of us and for each individual than this particular prayer for patience.

The call of believers to patience appears very prominently on the pages of the Bible. Again and again. the authors of the books of Holy Scripture encourage us to patiently follow Christ. Ap. James addresses the believers with these words: “As an example of suffering and long-suffering, take, my brethren, the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord. Here we please those who endured. You have heard of Job's patience and seen the end of it from the Lord, for the Lord is very merciful and compassionate” (James 5:10, 11).

Christ said, "By your patience save your souls."

In our following Christ, each new step must be confirmed by patience. This virtue is needed by every believer, always in every place. A child in school constantly needs patience, and if he loses it, he will not learn anything. A young man in a stadium needs patience, otherwise his play for pleasure will turn into a curse. A mother in a family needs patience every minute in her never-ceasing cares and responsibilities, which grow with the growth of children. The father feels a constant need for patience in doing his day's work. Workers in all areas of work need patience. Preachers truly need tenfold patience or they will give up their ministry by the end of the first week. Patience is so important in the life of the Believer that Christ said, "By your patience save your souls."

It often happens that the best natures, not disposed to impatience, calm as the lakes of Scotland, are suddenly indignant at an unexpected storm. Remember Moses, “the meekest of men,” who, having lost his patience, broke the tablets of the covenant, or the Apostle Peter, who cut off the right ear of the high priest's servant. Christ calmed the storm of impatience in Peter's heart by saying, "Put your sword back in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword" (Matt. 26:52).

Let us also pray that God will direct "our hearts into the patience of Christ."

Christ is a model, an example, an example of perfect patience.

Our text draws attention to the pattern of patience, and says that such a pattern is Christ. It behooves us, therefore, to look to Christ and take his example. Christ is our Savior and Lord. We are called to “imitate Christ”, “to follow in His footsteps”.

Consider the patience of Christ with his disciples. When Christ called them they were terribly ignorant and how slowly they absorbed His teachings. What terrible selfishness they were, and yet He showed them patience to the end. One of them said, "Show us the Father and it's enough for us, that will satisfy us"! Jesus said to him, “How long have I been with you and you don't know me Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how do you say, "Show us the Father?" One day two of the disciples insisted that He let them sit one on the right side and the other on the left side in His coming Kingdom. How slowly and reluctantly did the disciples assimilate the character and spiritual essence of his kingdom, and how much patience Christ showed them day by day.

Remember His patience with the crowds of people who pressed Him from all sides in anticipation of His help and healing. Wherever He retired to pray, the people who sought Him found Him, so that there was no hiding place. The most striking characterization of Christ is expressed in the New Testament in three words: "He went about doing good." His constant attitude towards people was manifested in helping them. All His actions confirmed the truth of His own words: “The Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matthew 10:45). Kindness, courtesy, sacrificial help to one's neighbor were the imprint of every step of His earthly life.

The patience of Christ with His enemies was even more amazing. They were constantly looking for an opportunity to frustrate His plans and frustrate His work. But Christ's patience with them was not eclipsed in any way and did not diminish in the least. Let us not forget that Christ's patience was not a sign of His weakness. He reminded his enemies that he could take advantage of the protection of the Father and the twelve legions of angels if he so desired, but such a measure would not be in harmony with his Spirit and purposes.

The patience of Christ had nothing to do with the so-called "patience of the Stoics." The Stoics endured because they reached a state of spiritual insensitivity, while Christ was inimitably sensitive to sin and to everything that poisoned the joys of earthly life.

The patience of Christ was alien to the malice, stubbornness, and ill-humor that are observed among savages who endure the most brutal tortures without a single sigh or contortion on the face.

Never in the world was there anyone before Christ and after Him who could endure so meekly and with such love. He prayed for those who crucified Him and responded lovingly to the most terrible words and tortures. He died alone on a shameful cross for all of us with love.

Notice how patient Christ was in His ministry. He saw only the feeble fruits of His work, preaching in the flesh on earth. He was more of a Sower than a Reaper. At first the crowds followed Him, but when He explained to them the nature of things, the people fled and "followed Him no more." He asked a surprise question to the twelve remaining: "Would you like to leave too?" And for all that, He never wavered in what He did and never got frustrated. Isaiah's prophecy was fulfilled: "I hold my face like a flint, and I know that I will not be ashamed" (Isaiah 50:7).

Notice also the patience of Christ in accepting the will of His Heavenly Father. Listen to these words of God: “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work” (John 4:34). Or: "The Father did not leave Me alone, for I always do what pleases Him." In the darkness of Gethsemane, Christ prays: “Father! Oh, that You would deign to carry this cup past Me! However, not my will, but yours be done” (Luke 22:42).

Should not this prayer of Christ also be our prayer? Have we already penetrated the secret of the blissful peace that dwells in our hearts? Or we still do not know that the peace of the soul is acquired by everyone who has unconditionally accepted the will of God for himself. The will of God is always the most correct, the best, the safest, therefore, for the sake of our security in this world and in eternity, let us obey only the will of God. To go against His will is to doom oneself to certain death.
Christ - an example of patience - did not tolerate evil.

“For this, the Son of God appeared, to destroy the works of the devil,” writes St. John. Let us read those scourging and condemning words of Christ, which were directed to the Pharisees, Sadducees and scribes. We cannot remain indifferent where evil must be eradicated. We cannot tolerate lawlessness and violence. We owe our American freedom to the heroic impatience of those who rebelled against tyranny. Where would the religious freedom of Scotland be now if not for John Knox? What would have remained of Christianity in Europe if not for Martin Luther? What course would the "foreign mission" take if not for William Carey? And what, in general, would we know about Christian civilization, if the autocracy of the Middle Ages were not brought to account before the public opinion of the whole world? Never reconcile with evil and do not tolerate it either in your personal life, or in your family, or even in the state or world. In the morning, at noon, and in the evening, pray to God, saying: "Give me into the patience of Christ."
The need for patience in all our human relationships.

Earthly life is a continuous struggle. Violent temptations will certainly meet us, no matter which path we take. These temptations met Christ even in the wilderness. We must reject them just as Christ did. Participation in evil deeds can never be justified by anything. To recognize as correct the motto of the Jesuits: "The end justifies the means" means to lose the border between good and evil, to go to the inevitable spiritual defeat and bankruptcy. In following the path of truth, we must exercise a lot of patience, especially in those cases when we come into contact with people, primarily in our family. Our children need our patience. As parents, we often need the patience of our children. But most of all, patience is needed between husband and wife. The husband left the house, slamming the door and saying a lot of rudeness to his wife beforehand. In the afternoon, an accident occurred, and the lifeless body of a rude husband was brought home. Another husband left the house in love and also died. How different will be the feelings aroused by their death in the hearts of those who remain! Oh, how every family needs patience from early morning until late at night.

Not all people in the world are reasonable and accommodating. Many are irritable and stupidly angry. Even app. Paul prayed and asked God to deliver him "from disorderly and deceitful people" (2 Thess. 3:2).

If we do not have enough patience, we will never be able to have the right attitude towards others. We cannot understand them. And where there is misunderstanding, there is certainly condemnation. If we get to know their lives and experiences, our attitude towards them will change radically. I would like to illustrate this truth with an incident that the famous Evangelist Samuel Jones told me about. He was on a train that crossed the hot desert all summer long. The windows were closed due to thick dust and the passengers were languishing in the heat. But then night came, the desert ended, sleeping cars were hitched to the train. Everyone who could rushed to the reserved beds. Having washed off the road dirt and laid down, the passengers were looking forward to the desired rest. At this time, at the end of one of the Pullman cars, a thin figure of a man appeared, trying in vain to calm a screaming baby. But the more he tried, the more the child screamed. Tired people impatiently turned over in their compartments. Finally, one of the passengers, sticking his head out and turning to the baby's father, shouted in annoyance: “Why did you take on your own business? Take the child to the mother and give us peace!” The baby, as if realizing that a quarrel was starting because of him, suddenly fell silent and after a short deathly silence, the father’s answer was heard: “The child’s mother is in a zinc coffin and is riding next to him in a baggage car ...” Another moment of silence came. Then the person who had asked the question quickly got up and went to the child's father. With a tremor in his voice, he apologized for the inappropriate question and immediately convinced and begged the fallen man to take his bed and take a nap, and he himself began to look after the child.

How easy it is to make mistakes in our judgments of people when there is no understanding of the situation, when there is no wise and proper patience.

We need patience even in our relationship with God.

We speak of this with due reverence and meekness. The ways in which God leads us are often incomprehensible to us. Sometimes our best plans are frustrated, or we lose what is most precious to us in the world. Ap. Paul went to Bithynia, but the Spirit did not allow him to go there, and instead of Bithynia, Paul had to go to Europe, as a result of which immeasurable blessings were brought to them not only in Europe, but throughout the world. God's plans turned out to be better for the Apostle Paul than his own.

The long-suffering Job knew the superiority of God's plans over the plans of men, and therefore he could say: "Behold, He kills me, but I will hope" (Job 13:15).

Love is the first friend of patience: "Love is long-suffering!" What makes a patient mother of the family with all her cares and duties? Of course, love. What made Jacob tend the flock for seven years, and then another seven years? Love for Rachel. What is the heart of the gospel? The apostle Paul answers this question: “But as I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Gal. 2:20).

The Second Friend of Patience - The Gospel of Christ because it contains the hope of eternal life. “Let not your heart be troubled, believe in God and believe in me. There are many mansions in My Father's house, and if it were not so, I would say to you: "I go to prepare a place for you." And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, so that you also may be where I am” (Jn 14:13). “But godliness profits in all things, having the promise of this life and the life to come” (1 Tim. 3:8). We, citizens of two worlds, let us spend our lives wisely and harmoniously in both worlds. Let us not forget that our life is connected with Christ, and if we follow Him wherever He leads us, everything will serve our good here on earth and there, in eternity.

Prayers for the gift of patience.

Prayer to the Lord
Praise be to Thee, Father of Mercy and God of all comfort, that Thou never leaves Thy sufferers without visitation and consolation. To punish - you punish them, but you do not betray them to death; although you are often a hidden God for them, yet you are their Savior. Amen.

Prayer to the Lord second

Prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos

Psalm 142

The holy elders of different times paid special attention to such concepts as patience and humility. According to them, this brings every human soul closer to the Kingdom of Heaven. But how, sometimes, it is difficult to force yourself to remain silent somewhere, and somewhere to act in a certain way. In such a case, there are prayers that help develop the necessary qualities in oneself.

Reading Rules

Prayers should be read regularly. In vain, many people expect some kind of magical effect from prayers. This is the real problem of our time. They try to turn prayers into conspiracies, which will certainly give instant results. That doesn't happen. Possibly, except in rare cases. The Lord appreciates a person's spiritual work on himself. Reading prayers, people enlighten their souls, rise to a new level for themselves. And only God knows what and when it is useful for us to receive from what we ask.

To resist the difficulties of life, you need to pray to God for patience and strength.

Speaking of patience and humility, it is important to understand that the very process of reading prayers is already the first step towards improving oneself in this regard. Overcoming his laziness and unwillingness to perform this ritual every day, a person strengthens his own spirit, humbles his passions and learns to wait for what he asks for.

Other Orthodox prayers:

The rules for all prayers are almost the same. It is better if they are read in the temple before the image of the saint with a lit candle. At home, it is also important to allocate a separate place for prayer where no one distracts. The environment should be calm so that the reading of the prayer text does not turn into a mechanical muttering without understanding the meaning.

Before you begin, you should be in silence, clear your thoughts of fuss and tune in to a conversation with the Heavenly Father. The soul during prayer should be filled with a pleasant feeling.

What helps

Turning to God and his saints for help, a person gains a sense of security and support. It is difficult for many to completely rely on the Lord in everything, due to weak faith. But, as the holy fathers teach, this must be learned and to help us - prayers.

The process of reading prayers is the first step on the path to humility

It often happens that people come into conflict with someone from their environment, show impatience. And this has a negative effect on their internal state. In order to better cope with such manifestations of feelings, it is just necessary to read prayers for the granting of patience and humility.

Articles about the meaning of the psalms:

How to read

Starting to pray, you need to tune in to a conversation with God. All thoughts should be directed to Him. It is better to say the words out loud, but not loudly. So it will be easier to understand the meaning of the prayer and not to distract your attention. You don't need to read with expression like a poem at school. Prayer words are spoken evenly, one might say, even monotonously.

Important! The main thing at this moment is to open your soul as much as possible and really believe that God hears the request.
